Does anybody know when Sound Shapes is released?
- Aug 7, 2012 6:09 am GMT-777-
I've heard that it's supposed to come out today. But I also think it may not be released until the 15th. Does anybody know for sure?

My Blog:For Lack of a Better Game
It's awesome. Totally worth it, and I'm a pretty critical gamer. I also don't particularly like platformers(I wasn't a huge fan of Mutant Blobs Attack like everyone else seemed to be). Any doubts you may have had will probably be gone. It's a solid platformer with an awesome musical twist. The music is mostly good, catchy or beautiful at best, and a little bleepy and repetitive at worst, but the way it's used makes up for any shortcomings the music itself may have. The level editor is deep, but it's very challenging to make a level that both sounds good and plays well. It will make you appreciate the main levels even more. It's a must-buy, no doubt about it. Unless you loathe platformers or music.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

I'm still kind of wondering if I'd like this game or not. ...Is there a demo? I don't think I even checked tbh.
I know Beck makes some pretty interesting music, and I have no idea what other artists are in the game. Seems like the tunes could be catchy though.

I haven't heard anything about an upcoming demo, but it's possible there will be one. Some of the tunes are catchy, and I've had a couple of them stuck in my head. All of the Deadmau5/Pixeljam levels(except the first) started to get a little repetitive, but their gameplay elements are refreshing enough that you're not likely to care. If you like platformers at all, you shouldn't think twice about Sound Shapes. If there's any other questions you have, I'll be glad to answer them.- Please wait.
I wasn't a huge fan of Mutant Blobs Attack like everyone else seemed to be
Yeah I'm kinda the same. I liked it. It was decent. But that's all it was. The level design was just too simplistic imo. It was enjoyable, but not particularly memorable.

Well, the good news is that unlike Mutant Blobs Attack, I absolutely adore Sound Shapes. It's sharp, smart, and absolutely memorable. It's the kind of game that you'll actually go back and replay the levels, because they're just that good. That, and the level editor/community levels extend the game to infinite replayability, just like LittleBigPlanet.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

I wonder if you can import or make your own level music?- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

Well... To be honest, I don't know if there is such a thing as another music platformer, but I suppose you could call it a sort of musical LBP. :P The levels are what makes the music, so it's impossible to separate music from the levels or add in your own music. It's a little hard to grasp without playing the game for yourself, but basically, coins are collected, and each coin corresponds to a note. Higher coins play higher music notes, and lower coins play lower notes. Just about every obstacle and enemy has a musical sound, too.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.
