Retail. I'd be one selfish brother if I bought the downloadable one and couldn't share with my sister. Also I like having a game collection.

DS: FF Tactics A2 | PSP: FF: Crisis Core | 3DS: Ghost Recon Shadow Wars
    PC
: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Steam/Raptr account, InsanityEx)
Wii: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

I bought the retail copy, only because I found a trade in deal.

Otherwise, I was going to get it digitally. I bought a 32GB SD Card too for digital releases.

    Digital.

While I do agree the games being attached to the system, not account, is silly, the same could be said for the Wii, and in particular, its virtual console service. Ultimately, for me, the benefits of digital over physical outweighs the potential risks.

I collect video games (as well as playing them) as a hobby, so I prefer getting the hard copy over the digital.

The thing that scares me about digital is if I want to play a game 20 years from now and let's just say the industry changed and Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft are gone or not in the industry anymore. So what happens if they decide to close down the e- shop ect and you can't redownload past games that you purchased? A few years ago, I would have said giant companies like Nintendo would never just disappear but now I see it is really easy.

The only digital games I buy is on PC and thats because I don't have the option to buy them on disc anymore since the few stores that still sell PC Games have a horribly tiny selection.. so I use steam. Everything else I buy retail.

If digital was about 20% cheaper (and it damn well should be) then I would go digital. No discount = No digital buy.

I was set on buying digital until it sunk in that Nintendo's system for downloadable games is still pretty cruddy. Until they get it so the games are tied to your account and not a device, I am going to buy retail when possible.

If I were to buy it then retail for me. I love digital but Ninty refuses to allow my credit card number to be introduced, and also, like some people have posted, the game isn't tied to an account. If for some reason my 3DS is stolen or breaks it will be a pain to contact Nintendo and tell them to reinstate my digital games on my new 3DS.
