I've been looking forward to the re-release of such a great game for the N64, but after playing the DS version...

- "Total letdown"
I am absolutely disgusted and appalled that the DS version of this game was ever allowed to see an actual release, the game is so short that you can literally beat it without realizing it.
Having Daniel Craig as the new James Bond for this remake was probably a bad choice in my opinion, I mean at least Pierce Brosnan had character and style, the James Bond being portrayed in this game is such a robot it takes all the fun out of being the worlds greatest spy.
As you all know the original N64 version of GoldenEye took inspiration from the movie and had fun levels that had a charm all their own, but this "enhanced" remake plays tribute to locations directly from the movie so to speak and looks more realistic, but the levels are long to make up for the originals short ones, but at least the objectives were fun to tackle one after the other, the objectives in this game feel like a chore to accomplish and string together that it's just no fun at all.
Weapons in this game are almost non-existent, you have a choice between your standard pistol (with actual reloading action!), a sniper rifle and only a few variants of machine gun and shotgun, the original had more weapons to choose from and were actually fun to use, so was this games weapons but the designs were so bland and uninspired that I got bored shooting enemies that are too stupid to find cover, oh and no blood at all, the original had blood and that was fun.
The overall length of the main campaign is just over 2 hours if not under that, so it's over in the blink of an eye, I think the original was longer but it might be just the constraints of the DS hardware rather than what could be crammed into the little DS card (but that's contradictory because I finished Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and clocked over 29 hours and even had 3D cut scenes! Explain that one to me)
There are little to no incentives for replaying the games as you only have "intel" to collect to unlock crappy pictures that you have to piece together, which is no fun at all, the multi-player is probably the only thing that's actual fun but considering the main game is no fun at all, you'd be better off buying something else instead of this boring, short piece of crapola.
To recap:
Graphics - 9/10: Pretty much enhanced from the N64 version and better draw distances and environments are the only highlight of the game.
Story - 8/10 : Plays tribute more closely to the film than the N64 version.
Length - 1.5/10: Too damn short to justify a full price tag.
Weapons - 2/10: Little to no weapons at all and they nearly all feel the same.
Violence - 5/10: You get to shoot people at least, but last I remember they bled when you put a bullet into them.
Overall score: 1.5/10
I'm giving the DS version of the remake a complete pass, it's so disappointing and un-enjoyable that the E.T game was more fun to play than this.
