For the most part, its pretty linear as far as where you need to go. However, there are places to explore as you make your way to or back to your objective in which you can normally find loot to pick up that will either help you, or survivors that you find throughout the game.

yes, for the most part its pretty open...:) the only thing really keeping it from being COMPLETELY open-worlded is the ruins, cracks in the ground... and CARS! laying around the places here and there... else its a pretty open game, and you're free to do what you basicly PLEASE! :) though i've only tried the DEMO so far, so i don't know ALL about the game now ofcourse...;)

Lol kommer , you should look up what open world mean in videogames , thx for trying tho .
Yeahitswill have the real answer to you re question , it s pretty linear and you don t have much choice on how to complete you re objective and how to handle the combat . -
At the start of the game it is very linear because you have to go to your apartment. But once the game progresses you have the option to wander around and explore, you can't go everywhere because some places are locked until you find certain things or speak to certain people but it's kind of like Mafia if you have ever played that. Between/during missions you can partially explore the city.

This game seems to be set up almost like the first silent hill in terms of layout and it's open worldness. Linear in the sense of streets and alleys your not permitted in being blocked by debris and automobiles.
