Get to grips with the tools you'll need to survive in Ubisoft's upcoming title, I Am Alive.
stamina bar for climbing?that's realistic but extremely frustrating.there's not much freedom in climbing unlike assassin's creed and prince of persia.
The fact that it isn't open world makes it a lot less appealing to me. But we'll see once it comes out.
Interesting.. reality in games is good, only they shouldn't make it too real.. An open world element would be a good addition, but let's wait for the complete review once the game is launched.
I was really hyped until she said that it wasn't open world... I was really hoping that these run ins with gangs were going to be random and you would regret every moment of searching in the subway for supplies. It just really seems like this game would benefit from being open world...
I like the idea of him not being a superhuman acrobat. It seems to make the platforming more tense and involving, that he could easily fall and die... Liking the look of this one, will definitely keep an eye on it.
Reminds me of the days RE was a survival game. But off course you didn't have the bow with retrievable arrows.
Enemies are incredibly dumb it seems. Point an arrow at one's head and he just walks towards it. Console bollocks!
If you talk about realistic game-play and scenario then you should remember you are promising ultra realistic AI. I wounder how will that take off!!
Eh. Looks really well detailed. But sounds a little too realistic for my taste. Plus I don't know how much more post-apocalyptia I can take.
I was looking more for a open world game, but oh well. Maybe if the game is good this could happen in a sequel.
Atmosphere will be everything in a game like this, hopefully it will be stressful and tense. If the story is good, and we can get realistic Mo-cap and voice acting, this game could be something special imo. Maybe this game will be able to challenge Silent Hill 2 in terms of tone and atmosphere. I know it seems odd to compare the two, and obviously it won't be horror, but there was something about that game that really drew you in. I haven't found a game to match it yet, but here's to hoping I Am Alive will do so. Plus I can't help but notice the similarity of the main character searching for his lost wife and daughter.
hey mjack70 it's not because of the earthquake it would actually be because the ammunition would have been used in the war leading up to the game
I like the idea of a realistic survival game: vulnerable character, short on survival options, and even one that gets tired and needs to eat. This is the type of survival game that resident evil used to portray, without all the platforming, and it was amazing. We'll see how much of it, though, is adapted for the trigger-happy masses and action junkies.
Interesting, but hard to believe in this current soicety, the way we are about guns and ammo, that all of a sudden they would be scarce in the future because of an earthquake.
@dab0ne Actually, it's a bit of both. In disaster situations people group together, and as a group, will be quicker to act like "sociopaths" than civilized. They might not be out to kill everyone, but they will try to control territory and supplies, violently if necessary. Most of the time, the player character seems to be approaching the groups' perceived territory, and a hostile response is most likely what you'd get. Looting is a good example you can probably find plenty of video on online. In extended disaster situations people become very territorial and distrusting. Survival instinct takes over and the years of conditioning we receive in modern society flies out the window. You might also check some clips of "The Colony" from Discovery Channel for more examples. It's interesting how "we people" pride ourselves on being civilized and yet it usually turns out to be only skin deep. Of course there WILL be people that hang on to civility and compassion and try to help as many as they can; it just won't be the majority like we all want to believe. After Katrina myself and some friends gathered supplies to try and help out those stranded. We met another group of people who had the same idea. They came upon a group of survivors earlier who STOLE all their supplies, threatening to kill them if they tried to stop them. Now, there were many people there who were cooperative and understanding about rationing supplies but we always approached with caution because you never know.
I wonder why every post apocalyptic game is full of rough bandits who only want to kill people. If this ever happened I would think it would be the opposite. The average person likes the security of groups and doesn't want to kill other people. I don't think the majority of people will become sociopaths during the end of days. On the contrary it may bring people closer together and could be an answer to international war. I guess it depends on the apocalypse. Nuclear and everyone is crazy. Zombie and people want to work together.
What, no zombies? This certainly looks interesting (horrible lip-synching excluded); I hope it's fun to play.
we have pretty much known this, but i guess good to hear it all in one video looks like a great game, really, but the changes from 3-4 years ago which worries me... hopefully it will be ok with the changes
to the clown saying no thanks ubisoft, for a arcade game it looks 100x better than some of the trash **cough** MW3 they sell you 60$ so wtf were you saying punka**
Looks like a challenging game, one that will make you think alot too, has that certain atmosphere like L.A Noire.
@grgcucu - Kill Billy and take his sweets of course. But would Billy be a motorbike-riding mutant with his own posse of back-up mutants, or just a regular post-apocalyptic Billy.
