Laura Parker talks to Gamers4Croydon campaign manager David Doe about the catalyst for the formation of Gamers4Croydon, his thoughts on the R18+ issue, what Gamers4Croydon hopes to achieve in the coming election, and its plans moving forward.
He hit the nail on the head when he said that the classification issue isn't to bring more violence into video games but to bring awareness to the unaware. I agree he's well spoken and strongly believe there's a chance in this and I want to be involved!
This David Doe guy is really good! intelligent and straight forward. Land this guy an interview on the ABC or something and he'll have a real shot at this.
@Ps1-2-3 theres a Disneyland in Paris, problem solved
@dasboy1 I'm glad you live in the states to, you wouldnt be welcome anyway
Focusing a political party around only one issue (a minor one to most people) isn't going to do much other than grab a tiny percentage of votes. Perhaps if they could work the whole R18+ games thing into a proper political party with views on numerous things and a more open membership.
David Doe is obviously well spoken and intelligent. It's a shame Laura Parker isn't, she repeats her questions which makes her sound unprofessional.. David Doe (Gamers4Croydon) needs to get some airtime on the major radio and TV networks.
I hate to say this but this is my last hope. Michael Atkinson needs to learn what his role is. His job is to represent people's view, not go against it and even go so far to censor the internet just to avoid bad publicity. David Doe should be thankful of educating both gamers and non gamers and taking a stand against the R18+ denier. Gamers4Croydon with their new candidates should be highly suitable to take on those jobs. Any remaining people on the net, submit your views before the end of this month. By election, vote for Kat Nicholson and a few others who are part of Gamers4Croydon. Quit abusing Michael Atkinson and get as many people in this R18+ games concept as you can.
well, i'd rather live in a country without an R18 rating, than in a country with loads of muderes, rapes and drug dealers. (although i do like disneyland.....)
this is why i'm glad i live in U.S
