We have completed the first three levels but can't get to level 4?

After you beat a level it shows you where the next level is.
Just follow the Ghost Studs.

If it's the level with the big truck driving around, jump in a vehicle and crash into the back of it.

After I crash into the back of, a new scene starts. You are supposed to hit the same vehicle 5 times however I hit it once and have been shooting at it ever since (around & around.) But I don't seem to be able to target it anymore. What am I missing? Thanks!

There should be several guns that you can shoot.
Just look for an orange "frown" and aim there.

This is actually level 6 (big truck).

Did you beat the chemical factory one (level 5) where Superman saves you?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated! I ended up restarting the level & then it finally worked right..drove me nuts. I must have followed that stupid truck around town for about 50 laps shooting up the entire town.
