Final Fantasy VII's OST must've been really challenging to do (like Nobuo said) and effort goes to show. FFVII had one of the best soundtracks in the series. Also, great interview and translator. :)
Nobuo Uematsu the man the myth HUGE fan of his works, especially in Final Fantasy 7 But all his work is a masterpiece, such creativity! Got really annoyed with that poor dub though
I never would have guessed Nobuo wanted to be a wrestler, laughed pretty hard at that part. What a great dude!
Stop whining about the subs (I myself prefer subs than VO, all original XD). You can still browse and listen to the interview at the same time. I find it convenient instead of constantly looking at is bicycle bandana XD!! P.S.: By the way I think the Final Fantasy 6 soundtrack is the best in the FF series. The Ending theme is EPIC! There was an ambience! Steampunk rules XD!

This man is a living legend. It's a real shame that he isn't doing music for Final Fantasy anymore (not counting FFXIV). I'll play any game that he has done music for though. I'm dedicated :P

One of my favourite musical pieces from Nobuo is the One Winged Angel theme from Final Fantasy VII, that is so epic!
Nobuo and Koji Kondo (the Zelda composer) are the best videogame composers of all time... hands down. No body can stand up to them. If they did a shared project on a videogame it's have the best soundtrack of all time.

Awesome interview. To think that he's made all that amazing, mood moving music without any formal theory training is mind blowing! He is without a doubt one of my top all time favorite musicians!
His compositions for the original Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles were the most amazing. They're the only game sound tracks I have ever downloaded from iTunes.

My man Nobuo rocking it with his gangsta bandana. Great interview for the most part. I thought it just seemed weird that you had a woman do a voice over it threw me off as a pun at first. I just wish that Nobuo could have given us some real response on his favorite piece or game. I can't stand it when people do that. I'm guessing he doesn't want to create a fanboy war, but I love those.
Nobuo Uematsu = Musical Genius!!! The music he composes for the Final Fantasy games are all so lovely!
Uematsu-san is undoubtedly a compositional genius. I'm a huge fan. I think he's at the same level as great movie composers such as John Williams and James Horner. Can't wait to hear some of his new stuff.
Great interview, but please, for the love of God--next time you do one of these, give us subtitles rather than a dub. I'd sooner read a transcript than listen to a dub.
Loved the interview even if it was a girl. This guy is amazing and i love hearing about how things happened. Composing that pure stroke of genius in like 5 minutes is epic!!
Very nice video guys! While I'd like subbing, the dubbing was very well done and didn't bother me at all. Square should be ever thankful because they would never have stood out if Uematsu hadn't composed the soundtrack for FF. I hope you plan on interviewing Mitsuda soon :)
For those of you who love Nobuo Uematsu's music, you guys should listen to the Black Mages. It's his band covering FF songs... with rock awesomeness. :D
Certainly the greatest video game music composer of all-time! Too bad the video is really boring.
@bodylotion I've never actually played FFVII (somehow) but I've seen Advent Children and played Crisis Core, both have amazing music and I guess FFVII is the same. My favorite music is in FFX.
DUBBING?!!! How about subbing? YOU TWITS!!! I do not want to listen to someone else talking, just because I can't understand doesn't mean I don't want to hear the sounds, is he happy , sad? Is he excited or bored? C'mon guys get with it~!!!
