Man this game looks like crap compared to show, I have MLB 12 The Show and graphically its is amazing and very solid gameplay wise, only problem is scoring runs. Its almost impossible I was going to get this but I thought back to when I had 2k9 and it was horrible, so I went with the Show this year, thank god I did. The pitching in this game looks fun though.

@PS2fweak Greed has nothing to do with the oft sub-par visuals. There's different studios working on a few of the different versions.

Is this a game review or a gameplay tutorial? I was considering buying this since it may be the last game in the series, and before Sony/989 began dominating with their MLB game; this game was damn good! Unfortunately; I can't say that I know anything more about this game now than I did when I started the video that would convince me to buy it...

I have been a Gamespot website user for about two to three years and I usually go with their views on games (metacritic has them 1.6 review points lower than the average reviewer--which is all right because critiquing a game is just that, CRITIQUING what is good or bad about it). However, in the case of MLB 2K12, I have to disagree with the low score of 5.5. MLB 2K12 is an improvement over 2K11 and although may not be worth a $60 price tag in my opinion, $40.00 would EASILY be a passable and satisfactory price for this game (and I am a broke college student!!!). Not only is it the ONLY offering of Sim Baseball on the Xbox 360; it also is a pretty good one and the best in the 2K series in my opinion. Patches have been released that have addressed some issues discussed here: such as wonky camera and bridge animations (although could be better). In my opinion, the bottom line of MLB 2K12 is that it is an improvement over MLB 2K11 and a more organic game of baseball (although not on the realisticness of the Show's graphics) than MLB 2K11 as you are not able to chease or exploit Roy Halladay's low curve ball to attempt to throw a perfect game. While the game could be improved, it is above a mediocre offering of baseball... I mean without the pitching improvements, MLB 2K11 received a 7.5 and this received a 5.5??? I feel obliged to disagree... sorry.

Wow, just wow. I am not saying this game is "great" but I picked up this and The Show..... 10 games in on both systems and the games are very equal this year. 5.5 to me would be just about unplayable, this game is very playable. No idea about all these "graphic issues" either, or the outfields dropping the balls, have not had that happen once yet.

To all: Yes, I was wrong about the pitching mechanic being new (it's the dynamic tendency to the pitching that is new). I updated the written review to reflect that inaccuracy and if time permits, I will attempt to re-record the VO for the video review to reflect that.

2k baseball has been bad for quite a while now...THey need to invest as much time in this as they do in their basketball games.....

As Egotte pointed out, the same pitching mechanic was already available in MLB 2K10. In any case, here is to hoping that MLB doesn't hand out another exclusive third-party licensing contract to 2K. Competition yields better products. Currently 2K has no competition on the field on non-PS3 platforms.

The reason you can't expect graphics to be a lot better is because this game has six versions available. This is what happens when a publisher is too greedy.

At this stage in the generation, you'd expect the graphics to be a lot better...

Why is he spending so much time discussing the pitching mechanic in this game, when it's essentially been the same for the last 3 years or so? Have you, Marko, played the game in the last several years? It sounds like you obviously have not.

We all knew this game was going to suck when they announced they were going to bundle it with NBA 2k12 for 69.99

Doesn't 2K's contract with Major League Baseball expire after this season, making this game the last in the series? I wonder if anyone will pick up the license and make a new series of third-party baseball games? Maybe EA can bring back MVP Baseball as an alternative to The Show for people who don't own a PS3.

Yeaaaaa if only the Sony MLB game had better announcing.
