DLC needed for a better ending?

Just starting this game. Without giving away any spoilers, is there any DLC needed to get a better ending for the game? I seem to remember there was talking about this when the game released, but I could be remembering it wrong.
I also know there's that extended ending coming out sometime this summer, any word on its release?

No, dlc is not required. I'm not sure what you mean by "better" ending, but just make sure you have enough effective military strength before hitting the point of no return, and yes the game will tell you when you get to it. The extended cut dlc should be out in the next couple months.
