Mass Effect 3 User Review
Nevermind the ending; the real problem here is lack of content.

- The Bottom Line:
- "Disappointing"
For those of you who enjoyed the variety of missions, maps, and planets in Mass Effect 2, don't expect such variety and quantity of content in the 3rd Mass Effect. In fact, be prepared for a game whose ONLY strengths are in its cinematic parts and whose content appears to be about 1/4th of its predecessor.
I've played the whole of this game, albeit I did NOT complete what were called optional "missions." Not only is the main plot shorter in the Mass Effect 3 compared to ME2, but the optional missions--of which I completed most, if not ALL, in ME2--are not "missions" from the perspective of ME2 players.
Want an example? Whereas in ME2, you had missions to complete for each of your crew members and some to regain technology (remember the 3 mechs mission?), in ME3, there are no maps, just silly conversations to overhear on the Citadel and then some collection of artifacts or technology to find while scanning some planets.
The ending of this game is just fine, contrary to what some people have been blabbering on about (I've not seen the blabbering, but knowing the American audience, I can imagine it).
Lastly, I spent many more hours playing the multiplayer portion of this game although it became repetitve and boring rather quickly. It only lasted a couple of weeks for me because I am new to shooter games and the novelty of the experience was entertaining. Why are there only 6 small maps and why are the guns so weak? Well, apparently you need to buy modifications for your guns... which I've done... but it's fairly unsatisfactory that one needs to complete the Gold level maps with characters who have decoys while only a few of the guns are strong enough to take down enemies quickly.
Overall, this game is just another failure from EA. Mass Effect 2 was a nice quasi-RPG title and last year's Dead Space 2 was oen of the better adventures on PS3, but none of you should be surprised by the product that EA puts out.
Dreadful for the money.
