    Hello, guys.

First off, lemme just say that I'm a huge Metal Gear Solid fan and I own every single installment. I played MGO when it first came out for the PS2 during the MGS3 phase. I also played MGO2 released with the MGS4, OBSESSIVELY! In fact, in my opinion, MGO2 is the best online game of all time, but it was just too bad that it went off-line on the 12th of June v_v . . Don't y'all just wish they re-established MGO2 with the trophy coming in August? Erh, anyway! I'm rambling now, sorry lol I'll get to the point.

I've been playing PWO ever since the MGO2 servers went off-line and I think it's actually really fun and it's got potential to be MGO, with the exception of a few minor differences. Well. . perhaps not *so* minor. Here are a few things I think should be included to enhance the PWO experience and make up for MGO going off-line. At least until MGO3, right?

They should fix HS delay! Please bring imported - or at least NEW - MGO voice codecs! Isn't it odd that when we use a girl character, she sounds like Snake when she talks? I mean, they ALL sound like Snake lol Apply codecs! They should also apply an in-game text chat, just like on MGO. See, this would not only bring back MGO2 experience, but sometimes on CO-OP, you'll wanna do the mission a certain way and there's practically NO communication between host and players who join. I mean, at LEAST a host comment displayed before you join the room, right? Another thing is, I noticed you don't have the option to kick players if you ain't host. Please give us the option to at least REQUEST to kick a player. Also, wouldn't it be cool if they could increase the size of maps? This, perhaps is asking for too much, but if this is done, then maybe the maximum amount of players can be increased as well?

Also, I noticed an issue with the mic. If it's a match like TDM, you can HEAR the opposing side talking on mic. Disable that! Unless it's a DM because sometimes you'll be discussing strategy with your buddies over mic and they can hear it. Not only that, they may be planning things too and it's this free-for-all mic chaos, so it should be fixed.

I also noticed another issue. When playing Base Mission, remember on MGO2 that when you're capturing a base, the opposing team could NOT respawn on the base in question because it's under attack? On PWO, this does not apply. This should be fixed.

I dunno, it's all these issues that I wanted to address to y'all MGO fans out there. What do you guys think? If you agree with the issues and that they should be fixed, please join forces and send this message to PW staff! Who knows, the more people, the better. I doubt Kojima hasn't noticed how packed PWO is now that MGO2 went off-line, so perhaps I'm only exaggerating, but maybe they'll listen to us? They want us to come online, right? If you disagree, then that's fine as well. I suppose we can just take it as it is, but it don't hurt to try to make a difference

There is a feature in the options menu that allows you to mute the opposing team on mic. However, only the host can decide to do that. The host can allow everyone to hear each other or have mics from people in the same team audible.
The same applies for base missions in PWO. Only the main base can be respawned on when its under attack. The only way to respawn on any other base being attacked is if the attacker momentarily steps out, giving the defender the chance to respawn on that base

Oh, yeah, I did post two topics of this, huh? I meant to post the same thing on the MGS4 message boards as well, but clearly it didn't turn out that way. I'm not new in GameFaqs, but I ain't been on here for probably 3 years now, so I suppose I can be interpreted as nOOb again lol

I'll try to delete that second topic :]

How many people play Versus? Right now, after MGO2 went off-line, a decent amount. Probably 40% of MGO2 players are in - the ones who own a copy of it anyway - and the rest aren't coming because of all the flaws I mentioned.

Perhaps if they changed it and made it A LOT closer to MGO2 experience, they will *all* come back and hopefully attract new people.

PWO is no where near the same as MGO2. PW has absolutely horrible lag whether you have good internet or not, shooting someone can take up to a whole second for the damage to register

Yes, I agree that PWO has delay. Wouldn't it be nice if they fixed this issue? It'd be cool if they applied the level system, like on MGO2. Maybe weekly events like Survival? But now I'm just making it blatantly obvious that I basically miss MGO2 and I want it back online lol

If not that, at least enhance PWO, right? If only there were a way to send this outcry to Kojima Productions, huh? :]

Does it show the number of people online? If it does how many are on at peak times?

It depends when you're on and where you're from. But I check the ratio every now and then and I see over 30 people playing. Although, I'm not entirely sure if the number that it shows on the current channel when you scan is necessarily the amount of people playing PWO worldwide. I think it's the folks in server in question to conserve space. I believe the PlayStation Home does something very similar to this in their servers.
