Check out the official trailer for Monster Hunter 4.
My only concern with this game is that it'll be the second Monster Hunter game in one year. I hope it takes a while to come to the states so I have time to finish 3 Ultimate.
@billymgame Are you serious?
Monster Hunter came out WAY before Dragon's Dogma. Also, the two games play COMPLETELY different. You don't even need to play it to figure that out. Just look at gameplay videos.
So, you actually have it backwards, though it's still false. But you get what I mean by that.
why capcom?why??? many bought psvita hoping they wud come out and surely be a number 1 hit in psvita... then this?3DS??? not even a single 13above kids bought 3DS especially in Phils....cmon..
@criticalmigz PsVitas sales are so poor, it would be unwise to release a game onto it until it ships A LOT more devices.
@The_G_S in my opinion, the reason why they made it exclusive on 3ds is that they couldnt make a better graphics, cause as far as i cud see,,MH4 had the same graphic engine or overall graphic details from their previous MH... nothing really improved graphics wise...
@The_G_S infact there is..i was eyeing on Soul Sacrifice and Phantasy star online 2.. PSO1 was good, but a lil bit toony... But ive seen gameplays from PSO2,and it was marvelous... And of course SS by isafune was insanely good,i was amazed by his creativity and his boldness in taking a big step in making games such as these...
The new gameplay features look really good, but for what ever reason the graphics seem to be inferior to the original PSP version. Not saying that it's all about the graphics, but why is it worse? The 3DS is definetly a more powerful handheld than the original PSP. So what's the excuse?
The graphics are way better in fact, you can see the game has bump and specular mapping, multiple shaders (water) and dynamic lights. What is worse though is the level design, which looks really ugly and bland. However the game is nowhere near being complete and the levels may have just been quickly mashed up for demonstration purposes and will hopefully be redesigned before it goes out.
Sorry about that jayd02 but I don't trust nintendo anymore and I don't spend 50$ for a game that does not last long anymore
I thought I heard something about the 3ds graphics being better than wii graphics. This video doesn't support that claim. Even in 3d this couldn't look too much better. Sure hope they improve on this before it's released over here.
@Razer361 If you play 3G, you may say differently, sure the anti-aliasing is no where near Monster Hunter Tri, but the game visual is an improvement over cause of the dual-lighting seen on 3DS, even the old PSP Portable 3rd looks more refreshing then Tri. Tri has significant anti-aliasing, but the bloom makes the visual very bright and annoying.........
I hope this one has a longer story. MH3's story was too short, especially when you look at freedom unite for the psp. I beat monster hunter 3 in under 20 hrs, and I played freedom unite for around 211 hrs and never reached the end.
@Razer361 Yea the old monster hunters for PSP had more to offer compared to the MH3 for Wii
I really think it would kill them to actually make a game for PS3 or 360. I understand production costs are high, but still they can at least put a port on, or a HD remake of an older game.
@Redley911 If you like short game with an actual ending, then I don't think this is your game. I play Monster Hunter not for an end but for the adventure, you are not a hero, but a hunter. Like any hunter, you hunt monster for their parts as trophy, and the trophy is the awesome armor and weapons you carve from monster parts(boss monster! Not those critters!) Its a game with lasting appeal, you won't be playing god and waltz through the quest, its you, your armor and weapons and perhaps your comrade against an angry, berserk monster. And like real life, you won't be getting all your reward in one go. I got 300 hours for the PC MH Frontier and just started with the PSP recently, but man Tigrex is always a rush to fight with.
@Redley911 Monster Hunter games usually have hundreds of hours of game play. i have over 200 hours for 2 psp monster hunter, and over 150 hours for monster hunter on wii.
Man the 3DS graphics are terrible and it's missing an analog. Not putting this on the vita is an embarrassment.
I got a feeling why does Portable 3rd never reached beyong US, they can actually sold in Asian country but not the North America region '_' ? Maybe they don't have contractor to do the importing, cause I got Monster Hunter Portable 3rd on Game Magic store, and yes I prefer legit copy, sir cause Monster Hunter Portable 3rd is a soul of PSP. And the 3DS Jap version will also be released.
the monster hunter 3 dont have english yet. i hope this one has on its release day
@reivax_darkmage Huh, no english, who tell you that?!? My friend got the English version 3 years ago???
Dont have 3DS though. I wish they have it on Consoles...so disappointing -_-
@xHallelujah Partially thts true but, graphics are on the market right now obviously...Wish they start creating something from square 1, not caring bout the grapics and stuff. And have easy gameplay and shiz...But totally agree lad
@xHallelujah So you still play games on an old CRT TV huh. Cause who cares about the picture looking better.
Developers should always focus on gameplay over graphics. I don't want to be lured into buying a nice looking game that plays like shit. But hey, i'll leave you to play those games, ok bud?
lol at all the butthurt sony fans talking about how they "ruined" monster hunter.
The game looks great. The textures are a bit choppy but considering the much bigger scale of the game it's understandable
