Video Q&A: Dyack talks Too Human

GameSpot speaks with Silicon Knights' president at Microsoft's Spring Showcase about his long-awaited Norse-mythology action RPG finally getting a release date.

At yesterday's Microsoft Game Studios' Spring Showcase, the publisher gave the gaming press extensive looks at its crucial holiday lineup. Included in the melange of titles were Epic Games' follow-up to GameSpot's 2006 Game of the Year, Gears of War 2, as well as Lionhead Studios' Fable 2 and Rare's Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise.

Denis Dyack talks up Too Human.

Positioned in the vanguard of Microsoft's Xbox 360 end-of-the-year charge is Silicon Knights' long-awaited Too Human. Announced as an Xbox 360 exclusive back in 2005, Microsoft and Silicon Knights at long last slated the game in for an August 19 North American release (August 29 in Europe) yesterday and showed off the game's two-player co-op online modes.

At the event, GameSpot spoke with Silicon Knights president and Too Human director Denis Dyack to find out how it feels to finally have a release date for his 10-year-plus-in-the-making project, what he thinks about console exclusivity, and why the co-op mode has been scaled back to two players.

The RPG aspects of this game have got me interested in this game and I have this game on reserve but if the reviews are bad then I am not going to get it.

I was looking foward to this game a while back, but all the recent media screams "meh" to me. Co-op looks fun but...

This game looks like futuristic version of "God Of War", battling huge robots instead of Cyclops and Hydras. I would still prefer God Of War in PS2 than this game in Xbox360...

The scumbag interviewing Dyack had the nerve to mention PS3. That pisses me off because MS has poured a lot of money into this game. That question was disrespectful. They wouldn't dare ask Kojima why there was no 360 version of MGS4.

Considering the co-op mode has been scaled back from four player to just two players, splitscreen shouldn't be very hard to toss in there now.

The_Owner: I think the lemmings were claiming that, but I see it more as Diablo+DMC+Mass Effect=Too Human.

Here's to hoping for a great title! I've been hyping this for awhile.

I seem to remember them claiming this was going to be the Xbox's GOW when it was first announced as a 360 game.

August 19th, good date, does not seem like theres much else thats announced in that time period, its looking great IMO and norse mythology is very interesting so i think it's time to pre-order.

Hopefully its a great game to kick off the fall like bioshock was last year.
