AU Shippin' Out October 13-17: Saints Row 2
Word on the street has it that the Saints are coming back to reclaim Silverwater.
The 3rd Street Saints return to the streets of Silverwater this week, as well as store shelves around Australia. Set five years after the original game, Saints Row 2 starts off with the main character waking up from a long sleep in prison to find that the Saints have been disbanded and that Silverwater is no longer the gang’s playground. The story follows the anonymous character in his bid to regroup the gang and take back what is theirs. Like the first game, there are plenty of side missions to keep you occupied, such as BASE jumping and driving around in a septic tank spraying excrement all over buildings. When it comes out on October 16, there will be three versions of Saints available. First, there's the collector's edition that comes in gun packaging, including a USB memory stick, art book, and map/poster of Silverwater. Then, there's the initiation pack, which includes everything in the collector's pack, as well as a Saints basketball singlet, EB Games voucher, Saints rule book, and a fake Saints ID card. Last, but not least, there's the regular version of Saints Row 2.
BioShock started off its life as a semi-Xbox 360 exclusive, but like Lost Planet: Extreme Condition before it, it wasn't long before rumors circulated about a possible PlayStation 3 version. Skip a head one year, and the release of BioShock PS3 is just a few days away. Aside from a new "Survivor" difficulty and trophies, Andrew Ryan's--the game's antagonist--Rapture remains mostly unchanged. BioShock was critically acclaimed last year for its unique setting and engaging story, as well as scoring a runner-up position in GameSpot's 2007 Game of the Year Awards. If you haven't played it already, be sure to check BioShock for PS3 out on Friday.
