E3 is kind of like Christmas in June for gamers, not only is it the biggest gaming expo in the world, it's the one time that we're guaranteed to see big announcements from almost every compnay in the industry. While a lot of the news to come out of the expo is American-focused, a fair bit of it...

E3 is kind of like Christmas in June for gamers, not only is it the biggest gaming expo in the world, it's the one time that we're guaranteed to see big announcements from almost every compnay in the industry. While a lot of the news to come out of the expo is American-focused, a fair bit of it also relevant to Aussies. To avoid the risk of drowning out all the Australian-specific announcements amongst all the big news to come out of LA, we've decided that it would be helpful if we round-up all the local news into one big blog post for you to easily find.

    did you compare that with the pc?
    I will agree that the 360 does look better that the ps3 in general as it does have a more powerful gpu.

    Upscale or not. GTA looks way better on my XBOX!

    I had both running at the same time, Same place aswell... Looks dark and blurry on PS3 and bright and sharp on the 360.. Actions speak louder than words..

    Funny I don't remember saying I'm unbiased i said I'm a PC gamer so don't start with the console wars C*** meaning i don't want to here about why your console is better. I got all 3 consoles at my house and will happily be playing all the exclusive for all of them.

    You know what I hate more than a fanboy? Is a fanboy, who doesn't know they're a fanboy. They think they're totally unbiased, but in fact are the complete opposite. Why can't they just be open with it? (Oh, right. Because then their complete line of arguments miserably falls apart.)

    And NO, the X360 cannot output native 1080p.

    Um... just a bit of FYI for all the ignorant people who seem to think the Xbox360 is full 1080P it is not the games are just running in 720P and are upscale to 1080P, its just Microsoft smart marketing to make people think it is. The Ps3 and PC are the only true native 1080P systems to date. There are only a very small handful of games on 360 that are 1080P, even Halo 3 was running in a resolution lower then 720P it was only slightly above SD TV because the developers had to turn it down if they wanted to use HDR lighting. You could at least do some research before you go and spew your fanboy hate. For the people who are saying sony has a bad line up of games you are just blinded by loyalty to your console, they had an amazing lineup. We need to get back to the games and not who has the better console because i sure am sick of it.

    All xbox 360 games can be seen in 1080p HD. Most PS3 games don't even go up to 1080i. Xbox 360 is so much better in all different ways. PS3 is not as great as the ultimate Xbox 360. Sony should stick to their blu-ray players. Microsoft is the king of gaming.

    You know...one would think that with such a diverse culture in Australia that we would be so much more accepting of multiple platform releases. I really don't care what you think about PS3 or XBOX. I don't care if XBOX has more titles or PS3's hardware far surpasses its competitors. All I care about is that the game is there to play with, whatever medium it may be on. So sad to see the pig-headed American fanboy way of looking at things has reached our shores. Now why don't you go buy a game, play it and stop wasting time arguing which hardware developer's appendage you wish to suckle on, and perhaps start providing feedback as to how the game is made, and not what platform it's on. That way perhaps we'll end up with better games as opposed to poorly developed ones labelled "exclusive" to keep fuelling this obviously pointless debate that has no conceivable outcome. If anyone cares - I think all of the FFXIII series of games look unique and truly designed for the future. My jaw dropped when I heard FFXIV was coming out (and I think most people in the crowd at Sony's E3 hoo-haa were simply lost for words). For me in a good way...sharing the FF experience with others? Hell yeah.

    God of War III - I don't need to comment. This one speaks for itself.

    Actually...all of the games look appealing...except Hannah Montana. Hmm.

    Sony really have had their thinking caps on, and have shown the capacity to go the distance and constantly better themselves.

    Apparently alot of the repetitivity of Assassins Creed 1 were removed so it should be exciting. @UFCBOSS I ain't upset buddy it just stirs me that people don't merit each companies work but rather attack them from cloning another persons work etc. and ill be picking up MW2 on 360, the controller suits FPS and adventure IMO, but most my fighters and rpg such as Final Fantasy will be on ps3.

    @UFCBOSS - i totally agree about the achievement thing. Theres gotta be very few things more satisfying than seeing that little green circle pop up on the screen =]

    Really cant wait for halo 3:ODST (i reckon they should have left it as recon though, ODST just doesn't sound as good)
    Also Creed 2 looks mega awesome, i just have to hope that they removed some of the repetition that was the first games only major flaw...

    Heavy Rain
    MAG
    Uncharted 2
    God of War 3
    Final Fantasy Versus
    The Guardian
    The Agent

    And theyre all PS3 exclusive! Lol sorry but 2007 Xbox 360 had all the games, now the tables have turned mwahahaha PC and Ps3= best combination.

    The only thing the PS3 has over the X360 is it's Cell Processor and that doesn't do much for it due to the complexity of it. One other problem is the major developers and publishers cant seem to release their games on all proposed platforms at the same time.
    Rockstar Games is a prime example with Grand Theft Auto IV, IF they had released it on PC at the same time as on the X360 and PS3 their sales would've been so much higher, but, they decided to make a few upgrades (ultra-high res textures, a few more poly's).
    Red Faction Guerrilla is another game to be held back on PC only.

    Anyway PC is my favourite platform, because it's upgradeable, wider variety of games and it has so many other things you can do with it .

    @UFCBOSS actually that was one of the only games that didn't impress me. Its not something to brag about. I happily own a 360 and a ps3. In all honesty the titles that PS3 owners will be lucky to own are FF XIV, MAG and possibly Heavy Rain. GOW3 provided little improvement of its predecessors. I think you and many others should stop this crappy debate on which console is better, it really is a sickening attitude. every console has its merits so how about you just settle down and converse more appropriately.

    Now for highlights. Both NATAL and motion sensing look incredible, they will be interesting features to implement in gaming.
    As for Most Anticipated games;
    1) Final Fantasy XIII / Modern Warfare 2
    2) Gran Turismo 5
    3) Metroid: Other M
    4) Uncharted 2
    5) Alan Wake

    UFCBOSS talks about fanboys sucking it, truely a strange one, being such a proponent of the 360 and yet owning both us claiming that you are NOT a fanboy of the 360, the words suggest otherwise.

    Was looking at all the new supposed additions to XBOX Live with the instant stream movies and radio, the implmentaiton of some TV though Sky Channel in the UK. What is coming here, yes movies, at the end of the yeat, will it be the 1080p as touted in the MS press conferences or is it, DL and wait, or lower res. Will we get the Last.FM radio at the same time. I have yet to watch the Sony and Nintendo press conferences yet, some good to come . Enjoy the rest of E3.

    I have always been a Sony fan, but even I have to admit they just have not brought anything amazing to the PS3, its been years now and still nothing that Xbox doesn't have. I don't blame Sony or Microsoft for this though, its mainly tha game companies who want to spread their product across a range of platforms and good one them, it means a lot more people can enjoy a good game regardless on whether they own a Xbox or playstation.

    Flame wars about platforms is probably one of the saddest things I have seen on the internet.

    Sony are dead, All they have now is Gran Turismo, God of War and Killzone..... That list used to be huge and now look at it, Maybe I missed a couple?? I have both 360 and PS3, but 360 is far better, Chat channels, way earlier DLC (Same game same DLC, 1 week difference sometimes!!!) And everyone has a mic!! Oh and explain how the 'more powerfull' PS3 cant run EVERY game in 1080p, Just like my far weaker Xbox360???

    All you Fanboys suck it and face the facts!! And remember before flaming I do own both!!!
