Arma 3 armed for summer 2012

One of the few PC titles I'd like to see come to consoles. We should have a petition similar to the one PC gamers have going for Dark Souls. If not this generation at least next.

if they dont improve the gameplay this games will still be frustrating for me ill just keep driving vehicles around the city in free mod

I can't wait to see the graphics on this...better start saving up for a new graphics card and processor. Will be worth it. [:

why not for consoles? i was hoping that ArmA 2 will be on ps3, but it seems that even the third will not be playable on consoles.

ArmA and Operation Flashpoint put CoD to shame.

this is good news and bad news, The good news is that its coming out! The bad news is that i need a new computer. (Arma 2 cost me a new proccessor, and it still lagged)

Hey guys, If any of you ever consider getting this game, in order to experience it's full you will need to find a good community to play it online with - one that takes the game as seriously as it was intended and doesn't play domi or insurgency all the time ;p Unfortunately randomly picking a server is just never the same :/ Two such communities I'd wholeheartedly suggest are Tactical Gamer (http://www.tacticalgamer.com/armed-assault/) or United Operations (http://unitedoperations.net/) Both are amazingly great communities with a good sized playerbase. Do note however they like to keep a certain level of realism - i.e. keeping in squads, fireteams and communicating properly between each other. If you aren't sure how to communicate or co-operate properly however many of their members or dedicated training sections would be more than willing to help you out! Check 'em out if you want! (Mini p.s. - there are other great communities other than TG or UO, like Shacktac, but most of the other communities aren't as 'drop in and play' and require some vetting before you get in, whereas with TG or UO you just need to register on forums, get the passwords, hop on teamspeak and start playing.)

Would be nice to see some better optimization. ArmA II either looked like crap and ran great or looked good and ran like crap, I could never find a happy medium on my powerful gaming PC. That teaser shot looks incredible, however, if no one can play it at those levels of fidelity, what's the point?

As someone said earlier, then need to improve the voices as well as other bugs and it'll be awesome. And I'm tired of hearing "Where are you?!" being repeated over and over.

i hope they really work on teh engine this time. its my only gripe . Arma 2 an dexpansions are amazing games. But the engine really needs a bit of work with performance. regardless of your rig. Even if they ton eit down slightly graphically just to increase performance to get better view distances. Because the view distance wasnt large enough to hide people going prone in the distance. Sometimes all you ahve for cover is trees. Maybe they shoudl have a dig out system . Where you can dig a small trench in the dirt for cover.

Oh my god yes! They just need to solve ArmA2's "clunkiness" and they'll have what I consider one of the best PC games ever

NATO in the Mediterranean? Well what do you know- there IS some originality left in military shooters. The real test though will be if it can be less buggy than ARMA 2. Looking forward to seeing the results.

If you can afford to buy a PS3 and then the games to play on it, you can afford a gaming PC. You can build a rig that will play any game currently on the maket for less than the cost of the top end PS3's

Wish it was for PS3 since i dont have the time, money, patience and know-how to be a PC gamer, i also do prefer a controller. But thats me. After playing Dragon Rising and now getting platinum trophy for Red River, it really really highlights how unrealistic CoD actually is. I played Red River today, then jumped straight into CoD afterwards and just thought it sucked in comparison, man realistic shooters are awesome.

Awesome here come ultra realistic military game overrated BF3 and cod are outdated even before the release :P Linear garbage BF3 and COD will be pawned by RO2 and Arma 3

That looks simply amazing. Respect to Bohemia for making this game and the ARMA series and not pushing out some COD cr@p console shooter.

Hope this game will be better optimized.. can barely run arma 2 with 8gigs of ram, 6870, amd 6core.. wtf? everything else runs great though!

I can't run arma 2 now i'll have to spend 1,000-3,000 on a pc to get arma 2 and arma 3.I played arma 2 on my friend computer it's amazing

It's a bloody shame these ARMA games are so badly optimized because they make just the game I like to play. I'm so fed up with those arcadey console shooters I want to start crying. Op. Flashpoint: Resistance is one of the best military shooters ever made. Please bring back the old school military shooters like the original Rainbow Six, Op. Flashpoint and Ghost Recon. Not the consolized bull it has turned into in recent years :( I have hopes for ARMA 3 however. High hopes.

This is the most realistic shooter series I've ever played.

ArmA is an awesome series. I love how its less about the power of the weapon in your hand and more about the strategy in using all the tools given to you. Only problem is I can never keep up with the system requirements to play the game on max settings. It's such a beautiful game though...

Looking forward to this, hopefully they have gotten rid of most of all the bugs ArmA II had and improved on the engine.

Scott Miller started 3D Realms...and now stars in an ARMA game? Damn! Haha

ARMA II had some unique elements, but the audio was garbage. The voice acting was extremely weak and the AI calling out to you was very annoying and really took away from the realistic feel.

Yeaaaa... I'll wait for the demo. The idea of Arma is great but the game sucks, esp the audio. They need to do a lot of work to get me to buy one of their titles. Considering it's developed in Prague I don't see that happening. "MAN AHEAD 2 CLICKS, MAN AHEAD BLAH BLAH."

And again it will take months and a dozen of patches to make it playable

fun the arma series were a lesser known but still pretty neat game. i hope the 2nd game allows for some sort of dyanmic world. where its easier to make missons and such and flesh things out or what. but great stuff!
