Assassin's Creed III, Halo 4 nominated for video game writing

Halo 4? Your joking right? I played, it and felt nothing to it, Valkyria Chronicles beat the crap out this in terms of plot.......  Well, unfair to compared a older game heavily based on role playing RTS to a shooter, well yeah Halo 4 should win cause stories these days belong to Microsoft, and nobody else!

No Max Payne , no Spec Ops: The Line. Is this an award for writing, right? So two of the best video game plots of 2012 are not here. Hard to believe.

Borderlands 2 and Mass Effect 3 should definitely be there. The writing in that game is brilliant. 

Fail to see why ACIII is present among the nominees, though. Its a creative story, don't get me wrong, but most of it involves taking real world events and people, then rearranging them and adding your own spin on it to fit your own story. Its imaginative, yes, but not entirely original like say Mass Effect, Borderlands or HALO. 

Mass Effect 3 should be there, it had many compelling and emotional moments between well developed characters. I know Halo 4 had average at best, cliched run of the mill action game writing. Sure it was better then a CoD game, but that's a low bar to jump.

These are some... interesting nominations to say the least ._.

The walking dead should be here, big fail. As for the AC3 haters, why don't you guys become video game plot writers if you can do so much better? Or probably you've just watched the videos in youtube and most probably haven't even played its predecessors or even begin to understand the big picture about the AC series. I guess it's not for everyone because it isn't a fast paced popcorn crowd pleaser blockbuster wannabe that every kid loves today. It actually makes you think and leave room for imagination. It's hard for people nowadays appreciate a plot that actually doesn't give out all the clues in your face. It's too hard to use your head and actually think for yourselves. 

Those games are interesting selections. I'd like to know what  the qualifications were, games needed to meet to have them considered for voting? Some really good games were excluded. I don't think this Writers Guild category takes game writing seriously. 

Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two and 007 Legends. The Writers Guild of America I have lost all repect for you.

Spec Ops and The Walking Dead  should have been nominated not  007 Legends.

ME3? Yes, the ending ... but come on! And Walking Dead had excellent pacing and tone, characters that grew on you and were taken at perfect times and in perfect ways. The way the whole season rounded out. Get with it and, I don't know, play a video game Writer's Guild.

Metal Gear Solid has the best story.. ever!

I liked Halo 4's story a LOT but there are other games that came out this year alone that were better in narrative. 

No other explanation other than the writers guild is full of eleven year olds.

Give me a break.

Halo4 muddled its way through a superficial mortality theme with an artificial intelligence gimmick. And that's the good part.

AC3 couldn't even tell a compelling "Luke, I am your father!" , story set in the most iconic revolution in history. And the ending was not written, it was left out.

But eleven year olds eat it up.

I would laugh at this if it wasn't so aggressively depressing.

Halo 4? Assassin's Creed 3? Are you serious? These guys don't know much about decent video game writing, don't they? It's almost non-existant now, with the exception of The Walking Dead game and a few others.

The only game I played out of that list (and still in progress) is AC3. I am enjoying the storyline and writing overall. There have been some flaws in the writing I noticed, but still an entertaining story nonetheless.

007 Legends? Halo 4? Disney Epic Mickey 2? Mickey who? Mickey Mouse? Good writing? Question mark?

Halo 4 should win this easy. Fantastic writing, the best in the series yet.

Are they stupid or trolling? no max payne, spec ops, walking dead, ME 3 or far cry3? I'd say that's an infinitely better list right there.

Also I'm assuming mgs HD and ME trilogy doesn't count because they're bundles

AC3 had horrific writing that jumped all over the place, and that half assed ending, that alone should make them reconsider their nomination. 

Not to mention....What would you have me do?
