AU Shippin' Out April 30-May 4
This week sees the release of Sniper Elite V2, the third-person tactical WWII shooter sequel to 2005's Sniper Elite.
Rebellion's Sniper Elite V2 is out this week on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The game incorporates a sandbox-level design, varied weapons, and a "kill cam" mechanic with a storyline that goes back to the tail end of WWII.
The game puts players in control of Karl Fairburne, a US sniper sent to Berlin in the midst of post-WWII conflicts between Nazi and Russian forces. His mission? Eliminate, capture, or rescue those involved in the famous V2 rocket program.
The story is spread across 11 missions, but players can choose how they approach each one, with weapon customisation playing a central role. When they're sniping, the game features both a heart-rate monitor and a breathing bar; holding breath will allow for a more precise shot, but a high heart rate in the middle of a dangerous period makes shooting more difficult.
For those looking for a more casual, friendly time, Fable Heroes for Xbox Live Arcade is a four-player action hack-and-slash adventure that looks to reward longtime fans of the Fable universe.
Finally, Awesomenauts is a competitive online multiplayer game full of silly 2D fun.
