AU Shippin' Out November 13-17: Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
What titles are out in Australia this week? Whether you prefer waving a wand or a gun in your games, there is something for all ages!
Regardless of whether you're a fan of the first-person shooter genre, every gamer knows that November means a new Call of Duty game. This week marks the release of the sequel to the bestselling entry in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
Set in the near future, the game will feature new war technology, and is the first of the series to present branching storylines that are driven by player choice. Prestige mode makes a return in the game's new multiplayer mode, and players will once again be able to level-up their weapons.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II will also allow players to stream their gameplay live to YouTube directly from the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, though no announcements have been made about similar functionality for the PC or Wii U.
The game is due out worldwide on November 13 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
Sony’s augmented-reality game Wonderbook: Book of Spells will also go on sale this week. Exclusive to the PlayStation 3, the game introduces a new platform in the form of a book, which needs to be used in conjunction with the PlayStation Move and PlayStation Eye peripherals to play the game.
Wonderbook: Book of Spells marks a collaboration between Sony and Harry Potter author JK Rowling, and was first unveiled at Sony's E3 2012 press conference. Book of Spells is the first game to use Wonderbook, and works by tapping into the Harry Potter universe. In the game, players will learn how to cast a range of spells, including Incendio, Wingardium Leviosa, and Expelliarmus, with the PlayStation Move controller taking the place of a wand.
Other titles out this week include The Sims 3 Seasons, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, and the Mass Effect Trilogy for 360 and PC, which was delayed from its intended release last week. Check out the full list of new releases below.
