Band of Bugs swarms XBLA this week
Turn-based strategy game from creators of Outpost Kaloki X, Cloning Clyde set for release on Wednesday.
Strategically minded Xbox 360 gamers will get a chance to pit their intellects against those of weapon-wielding insects this week, as Microsoft today confirmed that NinjaBee's Band of Bugs will arrive on the Xbox Live Arcade Wednesday.
NinjaBee's first two outings brought a tycoon-style strategy game (Outpost Kaloki X) and a side-scrolling platformer (Cloning Clyde) to the Live Arcade. For its third game on the service, the developer is trying its hand at the turn-based strategy genre with Band of Bugs.
As the title suggests, Band of Bugs brings a military mindset to class insecta. Gamers can play through a story-based campaign mode or try out scenario missions and skirmishes. The game also includes a handful of online modes for up to four players, an online spider hunter mode accommodating up to eight players, and a level editor.
Band of Bugs will be available for 800 Microsoft points ($10) starting June 20 at 2 a.m. Pacific.
