Turn-based strategy game from creators of Outpost Kaloki X, Cloning Clyde set for release on Wednesday.
Strategically minded Xbox 360 gamers will get a chance to pit their intellects against those of weapon-wielding insects this week, as Microsoft today confirmed that NinjaBee's Band of Bugs will arrive on the Xbox Live Arcade Wednesday.
NinjaBee's first two outings brought a tycoon-style strategy game (Outpost Kaloki X) and a side-scrolling platformer (Cloning Clyde) to the Live Arcade. For its third game on the service, the developer is trying its hand at the turn-based strategy genre with Band of Bugs.
As the title suggests, Band of Bugs brings a military mindset to class insecta. Gamers can play through a story-based campaign mode or try out scenario missions and skirmishes. The game also includes a handful of online modes for up to four players, an online spider hunter mode accommodating up to eight players, and a level editor.
Band of Bugs will be available for 800 Microsoft points ($10) starting June 20 at 2 a.m. Pacific.
I hope that those really great classic games such as Duke Nukem 3D, Doom II, System Shock 1 & 2, Soul Calibur and even Commander Keen and Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure!! Also it would be very, very cool if Final Fantasy VII, VIII & IX would come to XBLA.........
Bpg3D "I'm tired of these homebrew games, most of them are garbage. XBLA isn't supposed to be for bargin bin software." I totally disagree with you there. Mini Golf, Marble Blast Ultra, Aegis Wing are among my favorites from XBLA as of right now.
This sounds great. I've been wanting a TBS for the 360 - I hope it's as good as the previous titles from this dev.

ARGHHH!!! I was so hyped up for bomberman. Who cares about dumb lil worms, I want to bomb people!!!! Sorry, didn mean to bash this game, its just I really wanted bomberman.
I've definitely got my eye on this. I'll try the demo first, but as long as it doesn't disappoint, consider it sold!
i keep reading bomberman got pushed back to july.. apparently a developer said this in an interview somewhere.
I'll probably pick this one up after trying the demo. Looks like it will be fun. Is Bomberman supposed to come in June? If so then we SHOULD have 2 games next week, because Carcassonne is supposed to come in June as well. I'm personally hoping for Carcassonne over Bomberman, but maybe they'll release both.
lol i thought they where playing on the words of "Band of Brothers" meaning that XBLA was screwed up, thankful for that lol.
Great dev, great concept. I hope it's good, I need a new arcade game. They better start working on Cloning Clyde 2 after this.
It's nothing like Worms. Think more Advance Wars. It's supposed to be deep-yet-casual. Don't write it off yet. ;)
JiGSaW918 When will they put REAL GAMES in the LIVE ARCADE like the Virutal Console!!!! agh! STREETS OF RAGE!!! If you want these so-called "real games", go buy a Wii. It's obvious that you don't appreciate independent game developers and the things they can do when they're not dictated by a money-hungry publisher like EA, so shut up, and go play your Sega Genesis games and cry yourself to sleep when you realize that you can't make old new again.

I wish they would put one of the old Civilization or Sim City games on XBLA. Heck even an old Roller Coaster Tycoon game. They may be hard to play with a control pad though.
I like the idea that Band of Bugs has but not the genre. I'd rather have an action game for that kind of stuff.
I'll hold out for Sid Meier to realize that I'll buy any turn-based strategy game he puts his name on. As far as announced titles go, I'm waiting for Bomberman Live, but whatever. I'm broke 'til Friday anyway, so the Universe is making sense for once.
