too bad the Wii U probably wont' even outsell the Kiddy Cube. Maybe in another 10 years it might break the 21 million that the kiddy cube did... but I doubt that. They are going the way of Sega.

Platinum Games developing Bayonetta sequel for March 2013 release; developer's Project P100 renamed The Wonderful 101.
Bayonetta 2 will be a Wii U exclusive, Nintendo revealed today. Platinum Games, creator of the original Bayonetta, will be taking up development duties once more, with the game set for release in March 2013.
Nintendo also revealed that Platinum Games' Project P100 has been renamed The Wonderful 101. The game is also a Wii U exclusive, but no release date has been given.
Bayonetta 2 was previously rumoured to have been cancelled as part of a company-wide restructuring at publisher Sega. Bayonetta 2 is now being published by Nintendo.

2 Like @red-orc The original Bayonetta still hasn't come out on PC, and the PS3 version was a mediocre port (by Sega) of the 360 version. Based on the fact that the first Bayonetta wasn't very well ported (essentially a 360 exclusive), I'd bet that it will stay on the Wii U, acting as an official exclusive rather than an unofficial one.

1 Like @red-orc @Overkillhazard No Nintendo never had the rights to Madworld, it was published by Sega. Sega cancelled B2 and Platinum games needed a new publisher, they started working with Nintendo for The Wonderful 101 and would've developed a good relationship with them and would've approached them to publish it.
@Overkillhazard So Nintendo bought exclusive rights for BII like they did for MadWorld? Having publishing rights does sometimes mean only for a limited time. But maybe you're right, who knows. Still hoping, BII might come to its original console one day, the Xbox. ;)

1 Like Wtf!!! I loved bayonetta. LOVED IT. But as a grown woman i refuse, JUST REFUSE to buy a handheld gaming device like a little kid. Why oh why couldn't this title have stayed with the ps3. This is so f'ing depressing. (crying now, like a little kid)
2 Like @josmets first off the looked awful on the ps3 (much better on xbox 360). Secondly the Wii U is a home console, Nintendo wouldn't compete with itself like that. Thirdly, grow up and get over it, the game was cancelled and Nintendo saved it, be happy.
@GreenReuben First off, the game (the word you're looking for i presume) looked AMAZING on my system. I don't own an xbox so i couldn't and don't care to compare because i was already over the moon about the insane art direction, character design, etc that it isn't even close to being a cmplaint in my book. Secondly, i never researched the WII U thoroughly because i don't have interest in buying one and all i saw in a picture was that game pad controller that looks exactly like a handheld gameboy style system. I'm not into the shittier graphics and play style of the wii anyways. Thirdly, i posted a light hearted comment and you post a derogatory one telling ME to grow up?! F you man. Insulting random people on the internet is childish behavior big guy, have some perspective. And no, i'm not happy about it, because i'll never play it and was looking forward to doing just that. I honestly can't understand why people hate the idea of a decent game on Nintendo's system, especially when Nintendo either owns the studio (Xenoblade) or when they're funding the development (The Last Story & Bayonetta 2).

1 Like I love Bayonetta, but does Platinum Games think they're going to make money off this game when the previous game didn't sell over 2 million copies on two consoles. Now that it's going to be an exclusive on a console that the previous game wasn't even on. I'm glad that the game is coming out, but it just makes no sense to me why Platinum Games would go with Nintendo and automatically make this game an exclusive for the Wii-U. I'm not a PS3 or 360 fanboy but I was really looking forward to playing this game on the 360, there is no way I would buy a Wii-U for one game.
1 Like Ubisoft is doing the same thing (to an extent) with Rayman Legends but think about it this way, it's coming out on a completely new platform with not that many games to compete against for attention. By the time it comes out (next year) if say around 3-4m Wii U's have been sold and Nintendo has created a lot of excitement around the game, not only will those fans of the first one get it but most likely many others who are itching for a great action game and even if only half the user base buys the 2nd one, it'll already have sold more than the 1st. There's a reason why 1st party exclusives still tend to do really well.
1 Like That's what I'm thinking, having these exclusives early in a console's life can guarantee pretty high sales of marketed correctly since there won't be that many other games to take attention away.
3 Like I'm getting the Wii U solely for this game(and Pikmin 3 but come on). Loved Bayonetta so much that I bought the soundtrack (wasn't cheap either) so I would be an absolute fool not to get this game. Nothing will stop me from getting it.
So annoyed about this, i won't be buying a Wii U but i loved Bayonetta. Can't think how the Wii U specific features will help. If anything they'll probably be gimmicky and take away from the hardcore action of the original.
1 Like Or it'll just flat out not use it because Nintendo doesn't force developers to use everything the Wii U has to offer (same thing with the Wii). That's why the Pro Controller exists. You can say, what's the point? But it's being published by Nintendo so that's why.

1 Like It's amazing how Nintendo is able to take all these blows from the gaming community and STILL end up trying SO HARD to please them. Also ironic that SEGA is involved in this and are having similar troubles with ONE franchise (hint: it's their mascot).
Now with both companies in trouble (alongside Platinum Games) over this, I think this proves that Nintendo and SEGA, both formerly respected companies in the 16-bit console era are nothing more than modern day subjects of hypocritical controversy.
It makes you admire their tenacity and patience with the gaming community. I wonder how many other companies would put up with the same BS that Nintendo gets. Sega should just stick with Nintendo and bring over their awesome IPs :D

1) I'm not buying a Nintendo system because Nintendo systems are for casuals and have no exclusive hardcore games.
2) Nintendo systems should not have any exclusive hardcore games released for them because they are for casuals and hardcore gamers are not going to buy them.

Oh and in other news, the Wii U is pretty much selling out everywhere in preorders only days after its announcement, so much for hardcore gamers not wanting it (since the Deluxe editions were the first ones to sell out).
