After multiple delays, Irrational Games' new action-shooter approved by Sony and Microsoft for release March 26.
BioShock Infinite has gone gold. After three years of development and multiple delays, Irrational Games' latest action-shooter has been approved by Sony and Microsoft for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC next month on March 26.
"Nobody has ever built a game quite like this," Irrational Games cofounder Ken Levine wrote in a blog post. "It’s a shooter, but a shooter that brings you to very uncomfortable and dangerous places. I can’t demand that you play the game; I can promise you, however, that once you have, it will be an experience you won’t soon forget."
BioShock Infinite was announced in August 2010 with a 2012 release window attached. In March 2012, an October 16, 2012, release date for the game was chosen. However, the game would later be delayed to February 26, 2013, and then again to March 26.
When BioShock Infinite ships next month, it will do so with great sales expectations. One analyst has suggested the game would be a significant financial boon for publisher Take-Two, saying it could ship 4.9 million copies.

Been overwhelmingly excited about this game since it was first announced. BioShock still remains my favourite game of all time, and this game is going to be incredible. Whether it will dethrone the original, I'm not sure, but I certainly think it will be Game of the Year. These next four weeks are going to drag...
As much as I'd like to get this Day 1, I'm going to wait for user reviews. So much hype on games these days and they're just mediocre at best!

2 Like Ken Levine is certainly confident that his game is going to be great. BioShock certainly did not disappoint so i have faith in his words.

I'm getting this day 1. But I have to say, I've never ever seen a game get this much attention by the gaming sites as this has in the past few months. Almost every day there was a different story related to it on Gamespot or IGN. I don't usually mind this kind of exposure for my favorite games, but it just feels like they went overboard here.....what the hell did they do to get all this coverage. Anyways, looking forward to this.

1 Like This is the first game I've been really excited for in ages. Bioshock is my pick for game of the current gen so far, hopefully this can be as good.
Bioshock 2 seemed twice as hard as the first. I hope to high heaven that Irrational didn't figure: Gee... this is the third game, so let's make it three times as hard. That's the first thing I'll be watching for in the reviews.
@wyan_ well that's just not true. bioshock was way harder than bioshock 2. bioshock 2 didn't even have survivor difficulty and big daddies were way harder to kill than in bioshock 2. i hope survivor comes back in infinite!
Bioshock was way harder than Bioshock 2. Bioshock 2 was much easier, but thanks to better gameplay.

Well, just a day after complaining they stopped focusing on Elizabeth for their ads here we are and I'm yet again fully excited for this game. Counting down for the midnight release of one of the best games to end a console generation.
4 Like I'm thinking of buying this, without watching any video reviews. If there are any short comings in this game, that are mentioned in the review, I don't want to be spending my time looking for them, instead of simply losing myself in the experience. I don't know much about how games are made, so that too will work in my favor. Ignorance is bliss!

I do not like the cartoony enviroments and the low polygon characters but gameplay may be fun

At least pick up the first one. The graphics are a bit dated now but the storyline is awesome!
@gamingfrendly @Henrique2324 Oh don't get me wrong. It was definitely one of my favourite FPSes from this entire generation. I'm just saying hardmodes don't do much beyond that.

I don't mind if they add regenerative health. I used the Fountain of Youth combat tonic in Bioshock 2 anyway.
You can always turn on the 1999 mode. That probably wouldn't have it.
