i didnt like nuketown. game starts, spawn, sprint 10-15 meters, throw grenade along predictable path, 9/10 get a kill.
Activision offering "reimagined" fan-favorite map from original Black Ops to those who preorder shooter for consoles and PC.
Gamers who enjoyed blasting enemies in the original Call of Duty: Black Ops' Nuketown multiplayer map will be happy to learn the locale is making a return in this November's sequel. Activision announced today that those who preorder Call of Duty: Black Ops II for consoles and PC will be given a code to download Nuketown 2025, a "reimagined" version of the 2010 original.
Activision did not provide any specifics regarding how Nuketown 2025 is any different from the original, and as of press time, the firm had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment.
In a FAQ page regarding the Nuketown 2025 map, Activision confirmed that those who already preordered Black Ops II will also get the map. Additionally, the company said Nuketown 2025 is not locked away on the game's disc, and will instead be delivered digitally on launch day.
The Nuketown map in 2010's Call of Duty: Black Ops is one of the smallest arenas in the history of the series and is the game's most played map. It depicts a 1960s United States suburb, complete with houses, a bus, and shrubbery. At the end of every multiplayer match, a bomb goes off, and the town is destroyed.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II is due out on November 13 and is a sequel to 2010's original Black Ops, which is the best-selling series entry to date, moving more than 25 million copies as of August 2011. For more on the upcoming game, check out GameSpot's latest preview.
Nuketown is my favorite map for doing Combat Training. So, getting this map would be a great satisfaction for me. If the game has the FN P90 and/or FN F2000, then I will murder every AI Bot wen I play Combat Training on this game.
Me and all my friends have said over and over and over... if treyarch's CoD didn't have zombies not a single person we know would buy it
Pretty stupid really.. that map is going to have a small playerbase unless they release it publicly later on.
You know what activision, you can f*** off, if i do get BO2 (or any other games you make) i will be buying it used so none of my money goes into your greedy hands.
Yep u will & unlike EA's greedier hands u can still play it online with the rest of us
Treyarch developed COD9 : BO2. Not interested. This series is just too much of a cookie cutter franchise. Meh.
i went from 1500hrs of MW1, to 800hrs of MW2, to 300hrs of BO, to 16hrs of MW3..
i think that says enough about how they've managed to fuck up what once was a solid game.. i still enjoy MW1 more today than i do any of the others
@Sideshow_me you wasted 2 months of your life playing a video game? I'm so sorry.
@baystatethrashr 2 months? How quaint. Why are you here again?
@baystatethrashr if playing video games is a waste of time regardless if its 1 or a thousand games, why are you here if that is your thought about playing games this is a games website. as a gamer i dont think any time playing games is wasted.
Lol. Why are you getting mad, son?
Is it because I am right? =(
Lol. Why u getting testy, child
Is it bcuz u just copy everyone's thoughts? =)
Come up with ur own crap the CoD hating is as oringinal as the BF3 campaign was
I really enjoyed black ops after they separated nuke town from the rest of the maps. I always claim that I wont get the next call of duty, but my friends get it. I get jealous and end up buying it. The only problem I have with CoD is 90% of people bash it, but then 25 million people buy it. Its like talking about how big a bitch your wife is then you show up after a night with the fellas with a diamond necklace.
@Llama345 People on the internet just love reasons to bitch. In the end they never follow through with their own opinion.
Nuketown is the most unimaginative, lazy map design ever. Some BONUS. Who cares? Love the game, hate the map. Oh well... I guess at least, if I don't pre-order, I'll never have to play on it (I've avoided other trash maps like "Stadium" in the same way, by not buying map packs).
Being "cut out" of future Nuketown matches - Now, THAT'S what I call a BONUS!!!
i am preordering this game even without incentives.... why give a bonus? im preordering it anyway! i dont need a bonus
The whole reason I fell in love with the COD games is because I loved the RL weapons and somewhat RL tech. Its not a very realistic game obviously but I enjoyed how it tried to be. Creating all this stuff that doesnt exist in RL pisses me off and turns me off from the game. A reason I never enjoyed Halo or any of the other big Sci Fi FPS.
"Call of Duty: Black Ops II is due out on November 13, and is a sequel to 2010's original Black Ops, which is the best-selling series entry to date, moving more than 25 million copies as of August 2011"
20 million potheads can't be wrong! That seems to be the majority of people I run into when playing pretty much any CoD online. Haha
People who hate on COD are the main ones who buy them every year.
Why hate on something you don't have to buy?
Why take your time to write a negative comment on every COD article on gamespot?
@Pr0ving4Gr0undz Who says we buy it? I haven't bought a CoD game in three years after I realized how badly Activision was driving it into the ground.
@Axe_Armor Just say ... I did not never played CoD and there ...... You're the same case like 90% of children who have no idea what he is talking, and it is important just to be everywhere and leave negative sign comentar, especially in the CoD games ..... You can not even understand anything when you have no brain at all .... If Activision wants to introduce some changes in the CoD franchise, it will no longer be COD .... BTW Nuketown is more for fast levl.up or things like that do you think in the short term ...
@Axe_Armor Lots of other games recycles maps, does it matter? I have never heard of an innovated map by the way.
I just hope COD games sell less and less each time or sell like crap one big time, so Activision and the developers get forced to change and improve the game a lot.
I dont hate Call of Duty for nothing like a lot people do, i just see a franchise with potential wasted because of excessive economic sucess.
@yeah_28 i believe the games engine will only change on the next gen console. So as far as improving goes i don't think you will see a significant change in the next MW4 (let's call it that for now) either tbh.
@yeah_28 I think that's what's happening, Treyarch knows how many were disappointed in MW3, even though it sold well. They know that if this year's game were to be a re-hashed Black Ops 1, sales would be hurt drastically. Thankfully that doesn't look to be the case from what I see in the previews.
" Call of Duty " the game where the fan base bash it cause it's the "right" thing to do. Yet still spend hours and hours playing it, we all spend hours and hours on it, and we all bash it like its a 2$ whore and at the end of the day we get on forum and tell the world how much we blah blah hate the game, while we have a copy sitting near our console choice just like we have the 2$ whore on speed dial.
Well I love and hate Nuketown. Hated all the incoming semtex, loved making people angry with the SPAS-12.
Really? The fans never played enough of that map as it was in BO? Some people just need to move on and do different things.
i hated Nuketown - it was my least favourite map on Black Ops yet everyone else seemed to vote it in.Either way I am skipping BO2. While this one does show they are changing formula (just a tiny bit), I have played and bought enough COD over the last 5 years to last me a lifetime
