Description

You won't find any scores in here, but if you're wondering what GameSpot's reviewers are working on right now this is the blog you should be bookmarking.

So, as you've probably guessed, we're all headed down to LA for E3 this weekend. That means it's gonna be tough for us to post a lot of reviews next week. We'll still be posting a couple that we were able to get locked and loaded ahead of time (NCAA Football 09 anyone?), but mostly it's gonna be real quiet on the reviews front.

When we get back to the office we'll be diving right back into reviews of the latest releases and, in the meantime, we've tasked several freelancers with assignments to work on in our absence. A couple of weeks from now it'll be like we never left. See you at E3!

Hey Charizard, This comments section isn't intended as a place for Q&A with the editors - we have a forum for that. With that said, there are several reasons why our reviews aren't always as timely as we'd like. 1. We don't post reviews until we've had a chance to play retail code on retail machines - that way we know we're getting the same experience you will.

    2. We never do deals for exclusive reviews, which I believe was the case with IGN's "first review" of GTA IV.

    3. We beat games before we review them. Sometimes that takes a while.

Oh, and I'm working on Soulcalibur IV as we speak. I've spent many hours with "review" copies of the game during the past week but only managed to obtain retail copies late last night. Today I'm checking out the online stuff, and tomorrow we'll post a review.

i wanna see a soul calibur iv review, fast!

p.s. a bit late in the coming, but i'm new to this blog, so i'll ask these questions now:

    1. how come secret agent clank got a late review?
    2. how come pokemon pearl/diamond got late reviews?
    3. how is it that ign had posted a review for gta 4 and mgs 4 days before the games' release, while gamespot only posted 'em on the day of release?

just curious, as i often wondered about the abovementioned points...

Well, I hope that Civ. Revolution and NCAA 09 are reviewed by the end of this week for the PS3.
