Borderlands mapping out Game of the Year Edition Oct. 12

I bought the game on ps3 (GOTY) and it says it has bonus content on the disc, that bonus is the add ons already on it.

I liked the game and bought it new, but I can't deny it had some real faults that make me hesitant to buy this. Most of the locations were dull, there was barely any variety in enemies, the customization was nothing compared to what the developers hyped up, and it seems Gearbox tried to tack on a weak story only after releasing the retail game. Anyone on the fence should wait for this to go down in price. It's fun and can be replayable with different characters, but it gets repetitive quickly, and is horrible if you're playing alone.

Redeemed for download. That is really freaking stupid. WHy don't i just go and buy them then? You would save money that way.

@strikezone311 He was asking when the new expansion is coming out, which is some time this month. On a related note, does anyone know if the UK release is the same date or not?

Urgh, I want this so badly but I already have the standalone edition and General Knoxx so it seems like a waste rebuying it :( Oh well, it should be awesome (and worth it).

after this ill of spent $130 on borderlands. and it was worth ever cent.

so when exactly is this new add on coming out i see it says in September but im hearing from people on live that its getting pushed back to October some time?

I think this is a great game. Some may say its a boring game that doesn't deserve GOTY but if you had played with a friend and weapon whored as i did or hell even a full 4 person campaign, you'd have had more fun. Me and my friend easily put 100+ hours into it. And yes it does have multiple playthroughs, getting progressively harder. please correct me if im wrong but 3 playthroughs was the limit. PT 1, PT 2, and PT...2.5 hah.

I know I am definitely going to buy this, my brother has this game and I have wanted to get it from him for a while now but this will be well worth the money for all that content.

I wish it came with the add-ons on the disk. I don't have internet so the codes are useless. Oh well...

Hard to believe they use the term GOTY. I could understand Demon's Souls or Uncharted 2, but this ?

The game is awesome, I just haven't had time to finish it. You have to use some strategy or else you'll die quickly. I already bought Borderlands Double Add-On Pack that includes "The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned & Mad Moxxi?s Underdome Riot". So I won't even bother with this GOTY addition. ************************************************************ Skullcandy I just bought this game for $10 on Steam. I can tell you now, that's what it's worth. $60 is a waste of your hard earned paycheck. No where near $60 and I get achievements and play with my friends on XBox Live. I don't even think this game would run on my PC. I'm having a hard time getting Starcraft 2 to run on my PC.

This seems like a good deal, but it's kind of disappointing to me that it just includes download tokens for the DLC. Part of the appeal for me of editions like this is to have the DLC on the disc.

And THIS is another reason why I am avoiding buying games on launch day. I would rather wait for the GOTY edition to get all of the crap that should have been included in the first place.

This is good, I have yet to pick up the game so I'll just grab this version :D

if you do not own the game- this is a pretty good deal i think.. i just got the game and dlc's a few months ago.. 30 for the game and 30 for the dlcs 60 bucks total so far.. i will get dlc4.. if you wait a lil while- the goty will cost less and you will have a true value of a game.. the game has a few glitches. like getting quests stuck in your game from playing in others games.. if you forget where you was playing- or if that host never brings up his game again- you are stuck with quests you will never clear and crap showing on your hud.. but i think just the main game alone has more play time than fo3 and stalker soc and maybe bioshock together- or dam close.. its a nice long game- value imo.. then add the dlcs. borderlands is as long a game as any 3 or 4 games put together.. imo you cant beat that.. im sick of short games over in 1 eve of play- might even cost ya 60 bucks today and buggy to boot- while being milked for more cash before they ever even fix the buggy game.. borderlands is fun imo.. i cant say its my favorite game- but its 1 of them..

@starwarsnut7591 Uncharted wasn't a co-op campaign, and L4D2 got boring once you beat it, there is technically no way to beat Borderlands. And messing around is so much more fun on Borderlands then L4D.

I'll probably get this. I've been meaning to get Borderlands for a while, anyway, and this probably works out cheaper.

I love this game, I'm only missing a few achievements from the last two DLC's... I hope to get them finished once Claptrap launches.

You know what I love about this game? The FFFFING COVER!! It's still the best I've seen this gen.

I hate these game of the year editions because they do nothing but screw over and skip out on the best fans of the games that buy them at launch.

I always wanted to buy this game, but kept skipping it...I'll see into this GOTY edition...

For whoever has not played this game... PLEASE do yourself a big favor and pick up this new edition. I easily spent over 100 hours on the game and its incredible DLC (lookin' at you, General Knoxx). Too many memorable moments to count on three hands. It's like someone decided to "re-shoot" Fallout 3 (which I also love ) through the imagination of Quentin Tarantino. Sure, it still has RPG elements, but the game doesn't beat you over the head with it and the FPS-ness of it stands on its own merits.

I heard theirs a Uncharted 2 GOTY coming soon too, plus a Forza3 one.

These late year editions, or even re releases are great because I never got a chance to play these (like Dragon Age Origins).

I need to rent this game to see if I will like it or not. If it is a shooter where you collect stuff then it sounds like fun...if you have to do rpg stuff like fallout then I will pass, but I want to like this game.

Good deal if you dont already own the game or any expansions. Game really is awesome and addicting. Lucky for me though I got the game on sale, and got the first two expansions for free, and got The Secret Armory for 400msp when it was DOTW. I'll just download the new expansion and still have spent less money.

Bah I just bought Borderlands for $20... oh well, I don't think its a game I really NEED the DLC for, but it would have been nice to play it all... All I would have had to have done is wait a little longer. I did the same thing with Fallout 3, i need to learn patience on these DLC filled games! Well hopefully DRAGON AGE does a GOTY edition too, i haven't bought that yet!

GOTY doesn't necessarily mean Game of the Year but more like it sold a lot and in this case I believe it sold more than what everyone expected. Surpassing to see this considering Borderlands was a sleeper hit. I've enjoyed every DLC they've made, excluding Moxxi, and am glad they can bundle all the great experiences for newcomers.

@ RE4GreatesGame i wasnt giving my opinion, its a fact that uncharted 2 won the most GOTY awards.

this game has really grown on me was not interested at all when it first came out but over time i saw my friends play it and i must say it's very good might buy it if i have some spare cash...

only one thing to say: finally.

GOTY that means only one thing poor year.....story was bad and same for gameplay shooting over and over same bandits the only thing that made me play was the weapon system

Bought this is like June but sort of lost interst at around level 20-ish. I wish I waited to buy it until now though so at least I would have the *full* game to go to when I feel like revisiting it.

A great game that has been taking up my free time since it came out. Will have to get the new DLC once Steam gets it. Even if it will cost me $90 dollars total by the time they are done with this one.
