@DillTurnips no offense taken. I can sometimes br a jerk with people when it comes to talking about COD, but I have held back lately. I like COD and enjoy the games, BUT I have other games to play to. Most of these COD kids blank out 99.9% of games out there as if COD is the only gaming series to exist. I find them boring and pretty sad considering on how many classic games they are missing out on.
Activision officially announces return of World at War's popular soldiers-vs.-undead horde mode.
One of the most popular modes of Call of Duty: World at War was its unlockable zombie-apocalypse mode, Nacht der Toten (Night of the Dead). In it, the otherwise realistic World War II-set shooter allowed up to four players to cooperatively defend a house against increasingly large waves of Nazi undead. (Watch the video below to see it in action.) The mode was such a hit that it spawned two iPhone spin-offs and a downloadable add-on, Zombie Verruckt (Crazy Zombie).
Though the games share the same developer, Treyarch, there was some concern that zombie mode might not make an appearance in the forthcoming sequel, Call of Duty: Black Ops. Those concerns can now be laid to rest like a reanimated SS storm trooper at the business end of a shotgun. Activision today confirmed rumors that the mode would indeed return, but did not clarify if it would once again be undead Nazis or a new form of shuffling corpse.
Given Black Ops' setting, a more likely contender is zombie Viet Cong, as a good chunk of the game takes place during the Vietnam War. The game's single-player campaign will follow a group of US commandos undertaking various high-risk covert operations in various hot spots of the Cold War, including the jungles of Southeast Asia and the more restless regions of Russia.
Call of Duty: Black Ops is due out November 9 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Nintendo Wii and DS. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's most recent preview.
@SgtStrungOut u make a very good point there...im sorry i called you an idiot earlier, but i do know people that play Call of Duty like its no ones business, but they also play other (better) games. Personally, i cant stand Call of Duty anymore, and the only good one nowadays is CoD4. But your point about "casuals" (good insult? y/n) thinking they are hardcore gamers is a good one.
@DillTurnips sorry, but what I say is fact. I been gaming since the 80's. I am a gamer and during these past few decades, I have noticed how all these casuals (who wouldnt normally be playing video games) are jumping the gaming bandwagon and thinking they are "gamers" just because they play Call of Duty. People like that will never be gamers with the limited selection of games they play as well as the lack of experience they have.
somebody is going on all black ops articles and videos and downranking anyone excited, wow some people are really really sad
the wii version is gonna be sick... from the things i have read, they have been able to do a lot with very, very little... even get a headset this time and zombie mode which was left out of world at war when it came to the wii...
should actually be the same survival gametype, but with non-zombie npc's attacking you. that way, it wont seem like recycled content, and probably a lot more challenging than zombies. good example of this is that one gametype on GRAW with that huge horde of mexican rebels attacking you and your friends.
... Nazi zombies was overrated at best. I just wish developers would stop adding zombie gamemodes in order to attract more buyers. Would stick to l4d2 anyday
Hmm, Nazi zombies worked because the Nazis were evil, commie zombies not so much. "We want to make all people equal and stop poverty" doesn't quite scream evil to me. Other than that this game looks ace, November 9th is clear for just this.
i think that putting zombies in this game is good i mean whats better than blowin a zombies head off with an ak 47
I htink you need to have a hardcore moderate. I love to play and play alot but just dont have time on the weekdays. I play most major games online, battlefield, COD, Halo, but I also have a very busy schedule. I still play 20 hours a week but just not over all the time.
@ JoeSour That's because RDR has a horrible online multiplayer. Don't get me wrong, the SP is outstanding, but MP could have been worked on a lot. Not tried the zombie mode yet so we'll see. Can't wait to shred some soviet/asian/whatever zombies in this game though. The only good part about W@W was it's zombie mode!
@zombieshot15 glad to hear it @emkplayboy6 definately Hardcore-competitive. even when its just a single player game, i go for trophies like a madman
@emkplayboy6 I definitely don't fit into my own hierarchy... but I'm pretty close to Hardcore - Competitive. I should make another level.
@Angre_Leperkan I guess I'm a Hardcore - competitive! Guys what kinda gamer are you??? Post it in here!
@DillTurnips no it wasnt directed towards u i just found it sorta funny, thats all, it was more directed to the people u were arguing with,so no problems bro
@DillTurnips I completely agree with you. I never understood why people like that come on here, just to bash the game and the people that might like it. @JohnnyMan100 I feel like you're missing a chunk of the gaming percentage, so Imma rewrite this for you :) Casual gamer: A gamer who plays from time to time, and might own Wii and some simpler games. They are just looking for a distraction from their life for a little bit. Moderate gamer: The gamer who likes video games and plays them, but doesn't play all the time. He/she might enjoy every type of game out there, but either because of lack of time or lack of interest does not play all the time, just from time to time. Now, hardcore, I think, needs to be separated into two categories: Hardcore - competitive: The hardcore gamer that plays a lot of games online, with other people. They are buying new games frequently, mostly to play the online version. This gamer is frequently playing, sometimes more than not. Hardcore - recreational: The hardcore gamer who plays games frequently, but might enjoy more of the single player and vs. AI modes than playing online against other players. They spend most of their time in, for example, the campaign and horde/firefight modes than in the multiplayer component itself. They buy games frequently, but might not choose to/ might not have a strong interest in the multiplayer component. I know there are people in between in a lot of these cases, but I think it's pretty good :)
What I don't get is that people blast other games having zombie modes (RDR) but love it when COD gets it.... whats up with that?
Cant Wait to see what Trearch has come up with this time I know they wont disappoint im really looking forward to the next Call of Duty Now it's time to kill some zombies hit me up on my psn MrCoolGuy420
@JohnyMan100 i wouldnt say people who play guitar hero arent gamers. i play a wide variety of games, and guitar hero/rock band are games on that list. @zombieshot115 i hope that isnt directed at me. i was just telling that idiot that he has no right to say that someone isnt a gamer, especially when he doesnt know what kind of games they play
hahaha wow! seriously? people are seriously fighting over who is a "gamer" and who is a "noob" someone needs to get a life
@DillTurnips There are different types of gamers Casual Gamers: The ones that arent really "gamers". They mostly (or only) play Just Dance, Wii-anything, Guitar Hero, Rockband, and other games Hardcore: This gets divided into sections which i wont get into. plays mario, CoD, Halo, Zelda, God of War, Metroid, and other games.
@SgtStrungOut i seriously HATE people like you. You have no right to say if someone is a gamer or not. If someone plays a videogame, they are a gamer, and Call of Duty, no matter how overhyped and overplayed it may be, is a video game. So you can stfu and go away.
God I hope that they have a split screen because I was disappointed in COD world at world because I tried it for 10 min and The minigun is awesome
Anyone down for some zombies hit me up on my psn MrCoolGuy420 My Max is 40 rounds 2 players Der Riese Ray gun Wunder Waffle PPSH 41 All Upgraded with monkey bombs 3 Guns = more zombie killing fun time to nut up or shut up
wait didnt they comfirmed this ages ago? with those random codes on the US posters and such.... anyway old news is still good news... but with mroe info so it's nice that they officially announced it
i know activision is trying to take out the fun in video games but with zombies coming back, treyarch is keeping the fun in games.
Geardudu Posted Sep 30, 2010 11:53 pm GMT Never knew about zombies at CoD. Well, I never played CoD How come you have never played COD.from what gave did you crawl out.
Wii has a horrible controler and it has the worst shooter games and 360 and Ps3 has the easy controls to just pick up and play. Wii BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun fun playing Mario all the time you noob! I have been getting alot of mail about this comment and for your punk ass info i have played mario and enjoyed it when i was a kid, BUT COME ON SOME GAMES JUST GET TOO OLD FOR CHRIST SAKE!!!!!
@EnDeR2015 why would it suck? so far, the controls are way better on the wii. i personally, hate the controls for xbox and ps3 shooters now because the wii controls are easy to pick up, and any idiot could play them no problem. honestly, i think the wii shooters are better, and dont talk about this focusing more on the other versions, cuz as far as im concerned, treyarch could pay a bit more attention to the wii cuz a lot more gamers have wiis than they think.
@ MrCoolGuy420 I'm with ya on that! I'll be looking for ya on WaW. I'm always up for some zombie killin' action lol
Glad to hear zombie co-op is confirmed but is it confirmed for all systems or just the PS3 and XBox 360? Wii owners got shafted last time when the aforementioned Nacht der Toten was left out of the Wii version. Personally I think there are few things more natural than actually getting to point and pull the trigger (Ala Wii mote) before giving the undead a shotgun lobotomy. Call me a skeptic, but I'm waiting for a confirmation.
