Sounds like they're going all out, really hope it's good to justify that kind of expense though

Bethesda taps Star Wars, Thelma & Louise actresses for upcoming stealth-action game; Lord of the Rings' Brad Dourif and Reservoir Dogs' Michael Madsen also revealed.
Bethesda's upcoming stealth-action game Dishonored will be the latest to tap Hollywood voice talent to bring its characters to life. The publisher announced the voice cast for Dishonored today, revealing Star Wars hero Carrie Fisher, Thelma & Louise actress Susan Sarandon, and a host of others.
Fisher will be heard in Dishonored over a loudspeaker in the game's city of Dunwall as the broadcaster of government propaganda. Academy Award winner Sarandon will play former aristocrat Granny Rags, an elderly blind woman who has become deranged after years of living on the streets.
Other Hollywood actors lending their voices to Dishonored include Brad Dourif (Lord of the Rings, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest), who will take on the role of an inventor named Piero. This character creates a number of devices that main character Corvo can use.
Rounding out the voice talent for Dishonored is John Slattery (Mad Men, The Adjustment Bureau), Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Free Willy), Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass, Hugo), and Lena Headey (300, Imagine Me & You).
Bethesda also announced today that the he soundtrack for Dishonored was composed by Daniel Licht, who previously provided music work for Dexter and Body of Proof.
Set for release on October 9 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, Dishonored is a first-person action game that puts players in the boots of Corvo, an assassin tasked with protecting the empress of a stylized steampunk city known as Dunwall. When the empress is murdered and Corvo framed for the killing, sinister forces grant the accused assassin supernatural abilities to pursue his revenge.

Definitely looking forward to this game. I miss being able to play a stealth game. Since they forced more action into the Splinter Cell series, I have been craving something like this.
Glad they have decent voice acting. Sometimes, voice acting can ruin a game. (Two Worlds)

@Suikogaiden What does their age have to do with anything? They are all accomplished actors/actresses.
@Temperedelm It's the Penn&Teller phenomenom. That old people stink, don't do anything and are useless and all sorts of bad things.
But when 60 year olds are considered that old nowadays it's getting a bit ridicilous. Stallone, Nicholson, Schwarchenegger and many others are that age or over.
Yeah 60 year old characters should be voiced by 20 year old hotshots.

Just watched Michael Madsen in Kill Bill a couple of hours ago, sounds cool he'll be a character in the game
As if this game didn't Kick-Ass already, now they've got Hit-Girl to do voice acting for a game with a steampunk hitman.

They were mostly 20-30 year olds in 1970s.
@jessie82 Carrie Fisher does lots of animation voice acting now. She is Peter's Boss in Family Guy most notably.

@jessie82 Harrison is really the only really active one anymore. Mark Hamill does a few things, but not on the scale of Harrison.
1 Like Lena Heady...doesn't she play Cersei on A Game of Thrones? If so, that's promising. I met Carrie Fisher once, very cool lady. I saw her show "Wishful Drinking". Funny as hell. She signed my copy of Battlefront 2, as well. Anyway, it's great to see her in something that isn't Star Wars. Now, if only Kevin Smith did the writing...
Regardless of what the clips portray, I just really hope this isn't going to be your typical FPS snooze fest.
Especially if Bethesdas throwing a bunch of money at it.

1 Like @Deadly_Nemesis Carrie Fisher's not new to voice work; she's done plenty for Family Guy and Sarandon's done plenty of character voices in movies.
I was referring to people who specialise in voice work (Voice Actors) as opposed to screen actors doing voice work.
But then again she is hardly a screen actor these days.
Only one I care about is Brad Dourif. How can they not mention he's the voice of Chucky? And MW2ismygame I wouldn't worry about them not using the voice talent. Bethesda isn't making the game, only publishing it. Arkane Studios is developing it.
