The movie is gonna rock! A great cast and crew, combined with a great script and the performances are sure to NAIL IT. I think it should be released in theaters.....but I'm not a Sony Exec., so who knows why they want to go straight to DVD.
Company of Heroes movie out March 19
Straight-to-DVD and Blu-ray World War II film based on THQ's game series starring Tom Sizemore and Neal McDonough arriving early next year.
The Company of Heroes movie from THQ and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will launch March 19 on DVD and Blu-ray, IGN reports. Based on the strategy game series, the film is skipping a theatrical release.
The Company of Heroes film may not have received much press, but it features a cast of Hollywood veterans. The film stars Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down), Neal McDonough (Flags Of Our Fathers, Captain America: The First Avenger), Chad Collins (Lake Placid 2, Sniper: Reloaded), and Jürgen Prochnow (The Da Vinci Code, Das Boot).
The World War II-set Company of Heroes follows a band of American soldiers lost behind enemy lines during the Battle of the Bulge. The squad discovers Hitler's plans to create a super bomb and fight their way through Nazi Germany to foil the Fuhrer's plot.
The next entry in THQ's Company of Heroes series is Relic's Company of Heroes 2. It was recently delayed for quality purposes and is now expected during March 2013.
