Cursed Crusade delayed again
Atlus pushes medieval action game back to October 25 debut; Kylotonn-developed title to be available on disc for Xbox 360, PS3, downloadable on PC.
The titular hex of Atlus' Cursed Crusade is supposed to apply solely to the game's protagonists, but that jinx may cover its release date as well. Originally set for a summer release, Atlus earlier this year delayed the game until October 11. Today the publisher acknowledged the game would not be making that date, either.
Fortunately, this delay for the Kylotonn-developed medieval action game is relatively brief, as the game is now expected to arrive in stores for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 25. A PC version has also been confirmed to debut on Steam at the same time. When it launches, Cursed Crusade is expected to sell for $40.
A third-person action game, Cursed Crusade focuses on two ill-fated protagonists: The templar knight Denz and the rogue mercenary Esteban. Both men are caught up in the midst of the Fourth Crusade to the Holy Land, but they share a different reason for undertaking the quest--to free themselves of a curse that imperils their very souls.
Cursed Crusade will offer both split-screen and online cooperative play for two players. Its storyline will have five chapters and span 40 missions. Combat will have an emphasis on melee attacks, with more than 130 deadly weapons to choose from and 90-plus combos.

btw will the final version have improvements over the leaked version?

@dawnofhero But hopefully better. I liked the game and the idea but it was just lacking and a bit annoying in parts.

Sounds like a dumbed-down, budget game of Demons Souls.
it was leaked on pc and has alot of issues..terrible....i wouldn't say it's a good game but a ok and so-so game , the graphic is good though. Let's see if they can change my mind by fixing those issues
It reminds me of Dante's Inferno.
cant wait for this game, finally somethin new and refreshing amongst all the big wig sequals...
@LanceVance87 That was my reaction too, why are they delaying it? It's like they went "hmm, we are pretty close to the releases of all those gigantic titles...let's put it right in the middle of that storm!!! it's where the storm is most calm right? right? oh no, what have we done..." Didn't try it, no idea if it's any good, but i didn't here great stuff about it... :| It looks like this title is just as cursed as it's protagonists...
I don't mind. Times are lean and there are too many great releases this fall.
delayed? it was leaked on PC...
Well it looks interesting, based on the trailer, but I'm a little worried ... the voice acting was kind of annoying. It sounds like they hired someone to do the dramatic lead who should have been relegated to a side character.
good price...
I want this game, and I do not mind waiting for it too. Not a game I want right now, but a game I definitely want.
I love the Crusaders era, knights and such, but truth is I'd delay buying this one due to many big releases coming out too close to it. A December release? I'm all for it! Also, it will debut at 40$? Wow...
definitely the wrong time to release....rage,dark souls,bf3,cod,batman,sr3...just to many big names to contend with...releas eit later and work on it some more.i love the crusade/knight theme games, release dates gonna kill it tho
Whatever, the trailer looks horrible....reminds me of Dante's Inferno with the whole crusade theme going on......very original, NOT!! This will just end up being another bad one for the fire......
guys the game just got delayed 2 weeks back...it's ok we can wait...it's not like they delayed it next year and patience is a virtue, JRPG/RPG gamers will know what I'm talking about :P

Missing that summer release is really going to hurt sales. As a couple others have said, it should be released during the infamous summer drought, when there are little to no big name releases coming out. The industry has already proven that releasing a title during the holiday season (late October through December) is basically suicide if a game doesn't have a pedigree (well-known developer) or a franchise following. Atlus is really shooting themselves in the foot by trying to share shelf space with the heavy hitters. In particular, you've got Uncharted 3, Skyrim, and Modern Warfare 3 to contend with...and that spells disaster for a game that already looks to be in trouble due to internet leaks. In addition, there's Dark Souls (which looks like it would cater to the same audience as this), and the hype following its release will likely drown out all word of this game.
Hope it turns out good.
Yah, because there's a bunch of walkthroughs and everyone realized the game is terrible in every way a game could be and they are hoping that the short attention span of "gamers" will cause them to forget just how awful it is. Maybe even to "polish" the game. But really, if you polish a turd it's still a turd.
This game really needs to get delayed to next year. It looks good, but there's just too many other games coming out that are detracting from any attention this game may be getting.
bah im passing anyway esspecially seeing as the date draws it closer to skyrim
This just makes the title of the game that much more ironic.
That's three weeks to save up a few more shekels. No prob.
It looks like it could be a good game (:
collinmul yes but thanks to the usa fps crap. games like this dont get to be a blip at all im sure by summer there will be some other games prob a other fps to take the spot light...........sad new gameing world we live in
At least the game is cheap. Only $40. I'm still going to wait for the reviews on this one. There are so many great games coming out this fall and my fund are short.
@collinmul You would think that they would have figured out that releasing block busters during the 'summers of nothing' they would sell. or not even block busters but good games not main stream, halo, uncharted, oblivion ect.
I laughed at the title. Cursed Crusade delayed. .
Dude, just push your game back until March of next year. Or even better, put it out in June when we start our annual "summer of nothing" season. Coming out in October or November? You're not even a blip on the big-release radar.... And that's not your fault. It's just that the marketing budget for already-established IPs will drown you. Why not give yourself a chance and come out when you can make some noise?
.........damn it i want this dang game well better late then never
As if October 25th was a better date that 11th. With Battlefield 3 and Uncharted 3 so close to the release, this game doesn't hold well since there is almost no info to the game. December or even 2012 looks like a better time for this game.
How can it be delayed when the full version is already being pirated
Thought this game was suppose to come out in July?
What is this? are we in a delay season or something?
I'm just glad that Atlus is finally paying attention to the PC. I plan to buy the Steam version on sale in December, and I hope Atlus moves forward with PC games.
I wonder if it is really such a good idea to release this game so close to November.
well at least it's not pushed back to next year, as it looks like it can be a really good game. Plus, it has splitscreen, which is always a plus, and a nice $40 price tag.
Really hope they release a demo. Sandwiched between Dark Souls and Skyrim, or even Gears 3 and Battlefield/Modern Warfare 3, is a terrible place to be.
I just want this this NOW haha :P
Oh well, it gives me more time to save some cash.
This game is going to kick ass
what but i sought a friend playing it on PS3
I wonder if this has anything to do with the leak of the full game on torrent sites. oh well.
