AND THATS PIRACY
$100 version of THQ's action game to include life-sized Death Mask, armor and scythe set, digital soundtrack, hardcover art book; Limited Edition also revealed.
Gamers eager to encounter Death on a grander scale in Darksiders II now have a new option to consider. THQ today announced the Darksiders II Collector's Edition for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
The $100 top-tier version of THQ's action game includes a life-sized replica Death Mask, as well as the in-game Shadow of Death armor and scythe set, a digital copy of the game's soundtrack, and the Darksiders II hardcover art book. THQ said the Collector's Edition of Darksiders II will be available only through preorder.
On top of announcing the Darksiders II Collector's Edition, THQ revealed today that all Darksiders II preorders will be upgraded to a limited edition of the game for free. The LE includes the standard retail game, as well as a download code to pick up the game's first single-player downloadable content, Argul's Tomb, when it launches.
The Darksiders II Collector's Edition will also include the limited edition content.
The Darksiders II Collector's Edition is available for preorder in the United States and Canada at GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, EB Games, the THQ store, and "other select retailers." The PC iteration of the Darksiders II CE will only be available through the THQ.com online marketplace.
Darksiders II is due out on June 26. It follows the horseman Death instead of the original game's protagonist, War, and it tells a parallel story to the original rather than continuing on from that title's conclusion. In the game, Death will attempt to clear War's "good" name (he's accused of starting the end of times ahead of time) and save humankind in the process.
Darksiders II has also been announced for the Wii U. THQ expects to launch this version of the game alongside Nintendo's system later this year. For more information, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

Not the most expensive DLC I've seen in my days. I actually might get it, I was a big fan of the first game and the second sure looks like GOTY material to me.
Also the CE comes with access to DLC, which is always pretty nice.
Gotta remind the devs that there are fans of their games out there!
@RebornJeremiah : Not getting the game, it's the principle of it. And, you don't need to name call to make your point, you just make yourself look childish. Deleted or not, show better respect for other gamers.
Don't need the CE (though it seems pretty cool); but I'd pre-order it regardless of the LE upgrade simply because I love the 1st Darksiders and II looks even more f-ing bad-a**. Can't wait.
It's a $100 for the GAME ($60), probably $20 for the mask and $20 for the rest of the swag. Not $100 for the freaking mask! God people love to exaggerate.
You know what's really sad about this, there was a time when all first runs of a game came with this kind of stuff free.
WOW 100$ for a piece of plastic crap made in china for 15 cents...what a waste. I would gladly pay 20$ for downloadable version and save the earth at the same time! Every thing else is just a waste of time and energy!
Do we really need all this excessive garbage? Just put the game out and leave it at that. Enough with this crap.
How about a non-generic mask? Punisher -- no wait, Spawn -- no, wait -- the Wayans' interpretation of the Scream mask... Yeah, they all want their mask/logo back.
For anyone wanting the PC version CE: http://store.thq.com/store/thq/en_US/pd/productID.247277500 EDIT: Ok, I don't know what the problem is, but I get a SERVER ERROR, maybe it isn't suppose to be listed under the PC version.
Sounds like a pretty good collectors edition but what I find stupid is a lot of $100 collectors editions only include digital soundtracks...whatever happened to CD's? It's just my opinion personally but paying for digital things doesn't sell me on collectors editions...since it's not technically 'collectable'
Dammit...I try not to buy these extravagant deluxe sets, but that Death Mask would be perfect for the annual Halloween party I go to since wearing creepy masks is my thing. Hmm...as of yet, the only other game I'm interested in that comes out close to then in Dragon's Dogma, but even that is a whole month before Darksiders II. On another note, I also thought the scythe and armor would be life-sized just from reading the title...and my hopes were consequently dashed upon reading the article.
Now this is a soddin' collectors edition. Mask, art, in-game armor and scythe, plus the first DLC... yeah, I'm getting it....
no collecters edition for PC...Im sad:( pc collecters edition not listed: http://store.thq.com/store/thq/en_US/list/categoryID.57907600/
I'm not really looking forward to the game, but as far as collecter's edtitions go this looks pretty sweet.
