[UPDATE] Following years of rumors, Blizzard reveals long-awaited third installment in groundbreaking RPG franchise at Worldwide Invitational event; video from event inside.
PARIS--Blizzard fans have lined up around the block of the Porte de Versailles Exposition Center in Paris, hoping to become among the first in the world to see the newly announced game from the popular developer/publisher. The 2008 Blizzard Invitational marks the first time that the company has held a fan event in Europe; during the two-day event, fans will be able to participate in tournaments, check out playable versions of two Blizzard works in progress: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King and Starcraft II, attend sessions dedicated to various Blizzard games, and, most importantly, find out all about the next game the company is working on.
The Blizzard event is taking up Hall 5 of the Porte de Versailles Exposition Center, with two levels of the hall devoted to all things Blizzard. Hundreds of fans poured into the center once the event opened at 9 a.m., looking to get hands on time with Starcraft II and the Lich King expansion. In addition to huge areas devoted entirely to those games, there is also a gaming area devoted to the latest WOW expansion, The Burning Crusade. In addition, there are two stages devoted to competitive tournaments, as well as a Blizzard store, where fans can stock up on all things Blizzard.
Of course, the big news of the day is the announcement of Diablo III, and GameSpot was on the scene at the Expo Center for it. You can see the archive of our live minute-to-minute coverage of the show below.
[UPDATE] Since the initial showing, Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo III is being developed for PC and Mac only "for now," with the aim being for it to run on a broad set of systems rather than just high-end hardware. When asked for a release window, all anyone from Blizzard is willing to say is simply: "When it's ready."
Diablo III has been in development for about four years, and now has a team of 50-55 developers dedicated to it, according to Jay Wilson, the game's lead designer. The game will offer drop-in/drop-out co-op play over Battle.net throughout; though it will be doable as a solo player, gamers will be able to bring friends in at any stage.
Although the game is obviously not yet rated, Blizzard confirmed to GameSpot that it plans to stay true to the series' M-rated roots. The company is aiming for an ESRB M rating, and a PEGI 16+ in Europe. For more of our impressions of the game, including new information from today's Diablo III gameplay-design session, check out the just-posted first-look preview of the game.
[11:42] A smattering of applause as some (presumably) Blizzard devs walked in and took a seat in the front row...
[11:43] Here we go...quite exciting. Screens have come alive with WOW characters and artwork.
[11:46] After a brief intro, the opening ceremony has begun. A host comes out with translator... Welcome to the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational!
[11:48] Managing director of Blizzard has taken the stage to welcome the attendees.
[11:50] The hosts inadvertently try to kick the MD off the stage...but not before he declares the 2008 Invitational open!
[11:52] More Blizzard introductions include Rob Pardo, Mike Morhaime, and more...rounds of applause for all. You go, VP of Global Human Resources!
[11:54] Eight Starcraft pro gamers are welcomed onstage. First four are from Korea, natch.
[11:55] The other four pro SC players represent Germany, Poland, China, and USA.
[11:57] Warcraft III pro gamers are coming on stage now, representing France (big applause for the home guy), Korea, China, Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden.
[11:59] Teams competing in World of Warcraft Arena tourney are up on stage now.
[12:01] European WOW Arena competitors now... There's a ton of them.
[12:03] Asian teams now. Sixteen teams in all are taking part in the tourney. Not a one is dressed in costume. Bummer.
[12:05] Blizzard CEO and cofounder Mike Morhaime is taking the stage now.
[12:07] This is the first time the Blizzard Invitational has been held outside of Korea. Morhaime says it's also the biggest European gathering of Blizzard gamers ever.
[12:08] Mike recounts market research that said WOW wouldn't work in Europe. Looks like the analysts were wrong!
[12:09] Burning Crusade sold 2.4 million copies in 24 hours when it came out, says Morhaime. He also talks about Activision/Blizzard merger as a "leveling up" for the company.
[12:11] Showing video of last year's Blizzard Invitational in Seoul now, where they introduced Starcraft II. This is all fun stuff, but can we skip ahead to the new game now?
[12:13] I'm wondering how this year's Invitational stacks up to the 2007 Invitational event in terms of attendance. Last year was packed, but there's a ton of folks here in Paris too.
[12:15] Dude with guitar comes on stage...playing that familiar strummed-guitar Diablo theme! Could this be it?!
[12:15] "It is my pleasure to present to you the world premiere of Blizzard's newest game..."
[12:16] Flame on a stick... "It has been said..." Flame reaches candles... "That in the end of all things..." Candles mounted on skulls... "We would find a new beginning."
[12:17] "But as the shadow once again crawls across our world..." Gorgeous castle setting...scorched landscape...another city shown...now a nighttime scene.
[12:17] Teeming hordes of bad-looking dudes...war machines. A sword hurls through the air. And there he is...DIABLO!
[12:18] Diablo III logo appears on screen. There you go, folks, the mystery game revealed!
[12:18] Jay Wilson, lead designer of Diablo III, takes the stage.
[12:18] They're going to show a demo here in a bit.
[12:19] Better RPG, and a better action game. Jay reminds us that this is a work in progress. "Now, who wants to crush some demons?" (Raises hand.)
[12:19] Demo kicks off with a barbarian in an evil-looking dungeon... Demons crawling up the side of a wall to attack him from all sides. He's slicing and dicing.
[12:20] Gorgeous 3D renderings of enemies and characters. Pace seems quick but maybe a tad slower than Diablo II?
[12:21] Jay is introducing the barbarian ("one of several classes you'll be able to play"). New improvements: hot bar where you can use skills. It's where the potion bar used to be. Can quick swap between skills using mouse wheel.
[12:22] Showed a little of the inventory screen. Barbarian takes hold of two axes, one with frost enchant, the other electricity...can freeze and stun enemies. He launches into some creepy snake-looking enemies.
[12:28] Okay... Wi-Fi gave out. Here's a recap of what we missed: custom loot that looks hot as H-E-*-*, whirlwind skill is in effect for barbarians, environments are interactive (you can use walls to take down enemies), and they just showed the quest giver from Diablo II. Same voice actor, too!
[12:29] More on that armor: treasure chests won't give full sets of armor, but the armor shown is really cool.
[12:30] Barbarian now in a dungeon area, where cultists are summoning nasty, fat demon who blows away the summoners as soon as he appears. Barbarian using ranged and close attacks to take him down, as well as charge attack. Nice, bloody finishing move takes down the fat guy.
[12:30] New class: witch doctor. Control over disease, summon pets, and control minds of enemies.
[12:31] Now that we have the barb and the good witch doctor together, witch doctor casts locust swarm that devours enemies. Swarm consumes bad guys and spreads automatically...good tactic against mobs.
[12:32] First pet is the mongrel...can cast locust swarm on them to give them attack bonus.
[12:32] Witch doctor is reminiscent of necromancer, not in visual design, but in ability to summon pets (like skeletons for necro).
[12:33] Even without pets, witch doctor is capable of dealing with surprises... Horrify skill will cause enemies to run like little scared girls.
[12:34] Mass-confuse spell will turn enemies against each other.
[12:34] You've seen walls of ice and fire...but how about a WALL OF ZOMBIE. The witch doctor rules.
[12:35] Witch doctor and barbarian working together now. There are many things dying onscreen. Now they bring female versions of barbarian and witch doctor. About time the ladies get their chance!
[12:36] Demo is almost done...one more fight to see... Quartet runs into area with living trees. Firebombs going off everywhere from the two witch doctors; barbarians are cutting things up like crazy. Could we see a boss?
[12:37] YES. Huge quadruped demon wearing massive spiked gloves over his hands erupts out of a wall.
[12:37] This enemy looks to be about 10 times the size of Diablo from Diablo II. Really new sense of scale in terms of enemies and the action.
[12:38] And he's down with a thundering crash. Crowd erupts with appreciative applause.
[12:39] So there you go, an amazing demo of DIII. Any other surprises left?
[12:42] Onstage hosts are doing shout-outs now to folks from various countries. Hrmm, not much of an ending...
[12:44] Ah, the finale. A fire dancer takes the stage, performing to what sounds like the theme to the just-announced Diablo III.
[12:46] More dancers, more fire. Music sounds just like the theme to Diablo II, with more percussion to give it some movement.
[12:52] Okay, there you go, that's the end of the opening ceremonies. No platforms were announced for Diablo III, but we'll be getting as much information as we can on the game for the rest of the weekend. Be sure to stay tuned for more of our Blizzard Invitational coverage all weekend. Au revoir!
lol muffinman im the one who likes the lighting affects and thor25br, i should be right because all blizzard games are successful and award winning. I said before name one Blizzard game that is bad, now name one Blizzard game that hasnt won an award, hehe. Diablo 3 is probably coming out in 2009, and its been in production for more than 4 years now. the longer the wait the better the game and think of the possibilities.
Alright, if you guys don't like the lighting, then don't buy the game when it comes out (2050) and then cut yourselves when you realize you're missing out on the best game of the year
Man, I hope you (Soccerfeak85) are right... 'Cmon, can you blame a fan waiting for nearly ten years for a sequel? We (I) have HUGE expectations of it, and would buy it today, so...may it come out soon!
Well, this is a message to thor25br and Elrax. I just got done reading your guys' arguement, but neither of you reach a point. Can either of you two name one bad Blizzard game...... I didnt think so. Every game or franchise Blizzard has come out with has been a success. I think that it's complete crap that a whole bunch of people are complaining about lighting effects with a petition and all that other good stuff. Me and my brother think that the graphics and the atmosphere look simply amazing. the only reason why Diablo and Diablo 2 looked so dark is because they're both old. Graphics werent amazing back then so of course that type of game wouldnt come with a variety of colors. Diablo 3, in my opinion, will definitely live up to its name, especially with the new graphics and colors, the jump to 3D, and the new gameplay physics will be simply amazing and definitely worth it. I see no comparison between WOW and Diablo because they both have different styles, Diablo 3 is more realistic looking. Why is it that everyone is speaking good about WOW Wrath Of The Lich KIng and everyone is doubting in Diablo 3? People expect way too much from blizzard and Diablo 3 that they seek to criticize it with just one month after the announcement. I think its ridiculous that such a great game in the making is being ridiculed like this. Im a big Diablo fan and i currently own Diablo, Diablo 2 and the expansion. I love Diablo 2 even though i havent beat the first one. I know where you guys are coming from, but you guys aren't any game designers so just leave it up to Blizzard and im sure they'll make the right color adjustments for the right areas. P.S. the only reason why Diablo 3 was so bright was because it was outside in the day, I assume that there might be a day and night cycle hopefully which means nice and bright colors during the day and Dark. mean colors during night! THINK OF THE POSSOBILITIES AND STOP WHINING AND HATING! I SPEAK TRUTH! Im sure that everthing will work out in the end and no its not coming out in 2050 idiots! I heard it might be out in the spring of 2009!! So wait and see because im sure Blizzard will shut all your mouths!
Besides guys, we'll probably be long dead before Blizzard releases the game (I'm thinking 2050 as a good estimate)
Dear Elrax, it just confirms what I said... which is simple...you don't know much 'bout diablo... By the way...I'm not upset 'bout anything...you're free to say whatever you want boy...I respect anyone's opinion... And of course I take what I say serious...that's 'couse I don't like to see people thinking what I said is lame... But that's just it.... 'bout d3....I'm a huge, HUGE fan of diablo but...honestly, I'm not creating too great expectations of it... since I don't think it will be grand. I'll buy it and play it, of course, but I'm also on to Far Cry 2 and the new Crysis game, maybe the new CODuty... anything that asures me the pleasure of violence, blood and blowing things up sky high (in a videogame...that's right) ; )
First of all, sending me a message wasn't a really bright idea.. I mean c'mon why are you so offended? Plus me knowing nothing? Lol, I've played the game. Yeah I haven't researched it as in depth as you. I'm not that hardcore of a gamer. Research the developer's history and such. Dude.. How is what I said wrong? Saying that I know nothing of Diablo is a foolish and stupid generalization. Anyone who played Diablo would know at least a small thing about it. I may not know as much as you, and so? That doesn't give you a reason to try and be intimidating towards me. A fan.. Hmm.. Yeah someone who likes the game is a fan. You don't need to be anything more to be a fan, lol. To me, I don't know about you, it looks as good as the original. Maybe even better. Again I did state it came out a month ago or maybe 2 months ago. Now, if you know about Blizzard so much. Then you would as well know they do also hide a lot of things. Reading your post over and over again.. All I do get though out of it, is that you're one person who wishes to make everyone else wrong to please yourself. Sadly enough for you I'm not leaving this subject, lol. Its up to you if you want to be upset about it. Besides, you're the one taking my entire post seriously. Did you even think that all that was directed towards you? Well, its not so... Your entire post wasn't necessary. Unless, it was you who wants to argue? If you want to argue, then argue. But I'm just posting my opinions. If you're upset about it and all boastful and whiney, lol. Then.. Thats your problem. If my post seems far from you're thinking.. Well sorry about that. But I couldn't understand your post either, I had to re-read my post and yours just to get a connection.. But.. There isn't any. Sounds a lot more like a post to intimidate someone and to argue.
Baaah...you're all full of ....wrong arguments! First off... being a kid is not respecting one's point of view so.... well. Anyway... to put an end to this ridiculous thing.... You people know nothing of diablo. The franchise was bought from Condor Studios in '93 and the studio was renamed Bliz North. The First!!! game is original, the second has a bit of an ugly taste finger on it (read cartoony?). So Bliz transformed it in d2 to their own point of view and in no way it's as perfect or revolutionary as d1...as you can see for yourself - dear Elraxxxxxxx - the highest score game in the history of this gaming site. So for the ending sake of it...what the REAL fans - fan...do you know what it means? - is that Blizzard would return to the original Diablo and make a game as cool as the first one... not a d2 even worsened - health globes...come on! - but... it's obvious that a company raking money aaaaalover just doesn't care... why would you...silly contender to Sub Zero, do? So.... leave this subject aside... or...go Wiki and learn something.
Hey Elrax, you're really great, you know what is expected...good job man...I mean really...smart gamers don't look at graphics....
Uh.. Thor, even if not many people have got to 99, we all have experienced the feel of Diablo. Uh.. If you hate how it looks, then don't play lol. You could also adjust your monitor. The way you type though, makes you look a lot like a kid.. Sorry bro.. I mean why whine at all? Unless you just want all that attention you're not getting. But it won't work, Blizzard knows what their doing. I bet they tried doing what those "Before and After" pics look like. Also.. If it was that dark, I doubt anyone would get to really see the background and whats happening. As far as I remember, all you get to see when in a dungeon in diablo was the Corridor or Hall you're in and everything else is black. Thats cool how the detail was in the corrider, but the background was just.. Well.. Boring.. Uhm.. Outside?.. Well.. About the bunny.. I remember seeing bunnies in Diablo 2.. Outside the rogue camp, and they were also near zombies. So that pretty much answers your "Demon and Bunny" question. If you do look at the gameplay trailer closely, I'm not sure if its true. But when I looked at it after reading a post. There were 2 bunnies when they showed the female versions of the Witch Doc. and the Barb. When the male barb did the dash skill. I think he hit a bunny of a screen. You might like checking that out. Plus.. As Blizzard always does, they do their games in secret until its almost ready to come out. Meaning.. They may have been working on this for many years, maybe more than 4 or so. So.. Either they waste those 4 years to recreate the entire game from the ground up and let us wait 4 more years just to please those people who are whining or.. They stick to what they're doing now. I think, knowing Bliz, they're going to stick to what their doing now. Besides, it was just announced a month ago.
People can say whatever they want...I still think it needs to look darker and waaaaaaaay NOT like WOW. Anyone who has really leveled characters to 99 and pursuit loot like hell know the time spent on the game and how it feels...have you?.... Anyone?
i wish theres more character in it maybe like 10*.....and i want assassin in it, with a stealth killing move or whatever looks awesome characters ...but the camera view & graphics style are more like the last series of Diablo but this one have alot new ideas maybe theres a pet that you can ride+travel with.....i watch the vids and this time the Boss looks really Big and grumpy but even your character being smash and being critically hit......its like you wont be knock down cold for while.....and get back up to fight.....*you just like being hit by a normal monster.....maybe its still too early~yeah its a show off vids of D3......they gonna make it great RPG.......hahahaa...now im thinking abt Sacred 2 and Space Siege...... ....cant wait~
Uh.. Why are so many people all working up with that petition online thing. I find it totally useless, lol. Not the site but the entire petition to fix the graphics of D3. I mean, weren't you guys listening? They did mention they tried making the game all black and white just to get a dark feel. They tried making it as dark a look as D2. But if you come to think of it D2 looked real bright when it came to some areas, besides all they showed was a 20 minute demo. Plus they did mention, they played D2 and D1 over and over again just to really see what art direction and graphical direction they can take up for this game. So quit whinning about the graphics. Look at the concept art, they're real dark. Yeah it has green in it, so? Whats with everyone and the color green. Many other games have greenish dungeons, look at Huxley. Now are people going to bash it, that it looks like WoW? So far it seems like they don't. Why only Diablo 3? Back to graphics. They did also go through multiple art directions for this game just to achieve what they have now. For me they made an awesome choice. Instead of it looking so dark, it still does look dark just not as much as some people would expect, they made it FEEL dark. Everywhere you go you get an eerie feeling of Demons, Ghouls, Skeletons, anything related to Diablo could just pop somewhere. Thats what they're going for, and thats awesome. It really gives an exciting feeling when playing in my opinion. What else? We can't really debate so much about graphics. I mean c'mon they didn't even show a large part of Sanctuary. Plus that isn't even the WHOLE Tristram. Might not even be Tristram. Now if anyone who whines about the graphics, and is curious about why I said "weren't you listening?" There are vids here in Gamespot, interviews, and videos about the Bliz Invitational in Paris. They spoke a lot about where they're going now for the game there. Well, hey this game isn't out yet too. So, we really don't know how the complete thing will look. About the part "weren't you listening?" Well there are some vids here on Gamespot that has interviews with the Bliz team at the Paris Invitational. I do suggest, that before anyone whines about the graphics, to stay awhile and listen.
this game looks like it will be great but i hope it doen't get all hyped up and then when it comes out its not what we expected.
I agree completely that the game palete and looks is a copy of WOW. This just sucks for the real fans who liked the dark, creepy and bloody environments of the earlier games, instead of this fanatsy like characters. I posted that earlier, and I'm not alone. Tens of thousands of people think the same... and the images are out for like what... a week or so!!! So Blizzard, please!!! We all know you're swimming in cash right now, and when d3 is finally released, will rake even more money.... I think just a few changes in the lighting and textures give a HUGE change!!! Please, everyone, take a look at the pictures and sign up....guess we, as a fanbase of over ten years, have the right to at least ask!!! look up: http://www.petitiononline.com/d3art/petition.html Best hopes for d3... may it come soon!!!
I've been waiting for this game long time... so happy I could cry!!! =D and it looks beautiful just damn amazing!!! thanks again blizazard!!!!!!!!!
A couple of things people need to remember. Blizzard designs their games to run well on a wide range of machines both high-end and low. That being said, anyone who feels the graphics are bad or low quality should really pull their head out of their ass. The graphic quality provided in conjunction with smooth gameplay is looks amazing in its current stages. I cant think of any other 3rd Person RPG games (Dungeon Siege, Titan Quest Etc.) that have provide better graphic quality that what was shown in the 20 minute gameplay vids on Blizzards website. The graphic quality of games and the 3D engines used to produce them have changed durastically since D2. People keep bashing the game saying the colors are too bright and vibrant. The colors shown inside the cathedral was far more realistic than the previous Diablo games. A moldy recently demon infested section of underground ruins wouldn't just be a blend of blacks and grays. You also have true light sources and support for much higher quality colors and textures in this game where the previous ones did not. That alone changes the look and algorithm of the game massively compared to its predescesors. Also keep in mind that D3 takes place 20 years after the events of D2. 20 years is a long time for the world to "heal". In Deckard Cains lore he writes about the fact that people begin to believe the events that occurred in the past were all a myth. I think the locked camera is also a nice touch, where most of todays 3rd person RPGs allow different Camera angles blizzard feels that locking the cam will help to secure the authentic Diablo feel and i agree with them. The game is focused on obliterating demons from hell. I'm not interested in messing with different camera angles. Sure it would be a cool effect, but one that would ultimately be pointless as it doesn't help the aspects of the what the game is trying to get across to the player. Smash monsters with awesome spells and abilities now, collect phat loots, and do the dishes later...no tomorrow.....no never. Must play Diablo 3. I have a wife and kids....if i sell off them will that get me more time to play? Todays lesson children is this. Blizzard has delivered top quality games for the past couple decades, people need to give them a little more credit. Everything i have seen about Diablo 3: Concept art, Lore, Gameplay, Cinematics Etc. has all pointed to Diablo 3 being an outstanding game both on a graphical and gameplay level.
Gamespot mentioned that the release date of D3 will be on December 2009? If that's true, that will be a veeeeeerrry long wait.
Why does everyone hope/want diablo 3 for their bloody xbox/playstation. The game simply isn't going to put on consoles, unless like in blizzards past, it is a port months later. To everyone wondering, you shouldn't need many part updates for this game, blizzards products have always ran well and looks good a the same time, obviously not cod4/crysis stuff but the idea is for the game to run well on many PCs.
Start the hate kids, because Diablo 3 failed to impress me. I thought it would be a more modern 3d person game. But this is just an old school, viewed from the top, hack, slash and smash. It's sad that the developer created these great looking BIG enemies, but they're not impressive enough when you just get to view them from the top. If you were in a 1st person or 3d person view, you would get a better cinematic experience (IMHO). I think that developers should have the balls to break with tradition and take their IP into new directions. Fan input is great, but developers somehow fear fans these days. Take capcom as another example. SF 4 is still a friggin 2D fighter. When asked why, they simply answer: "That's what the fans want." But was that what the developers at capcom wanted to do? This game is definitely fanservice and will not gather any new fans. But I've been wrong about more than a few things :D
Why is it that people are throwing such a fit over the lighting of the game? For goodness' sake people, if a game's good who gives a damn what the lighting is like? Lets look at Blizzard's track record. Diablo II: 8.5 Diablo: 9.6 (highest rated PC game to date) warcraft III: 9.3 Warcraft III FT: 9.2 Warcraft II ToD: 9.3 Warcraft II BtDP: 9.2 WoW: 9.5 WoW BC: 9.2 SC: 9.1 SC BW: 9.1 So yes, we all just absolutely know that the company with the largest string of high rated games is going to completely screw up a game because of it's lighting. I mean please...Really now?
Not sure of the art direction, like some others. So I check out the lore and design vid, here on gamespot, to see their reasoning... So they say they started the art with a darker feel, but changed it because they remembered the games being much darker, which wasnt the case. Doesn't anyone else think its weird that they chose bright colours because of the previous games high usage of contrasting colour? I mean, the only reason its like that is because the games were using a very low bit colour palate... You HAVE to do that with a low bit palate, otherwise you have crazy banding or flat scenery, characters that lack detail and blend in to the backgrounds. D2 supported 256 colours, min - you have to use all the highs and lows, its going to be bright. The actual early concept art or D2 and 1 was a lot darker, they should have based it on that ... not some technical limitation of previous games. I doubt the art team of D2 wanted ugly bright orange, blue and green boss creatures... Lets hope they dont take it that far in D3 to "stay true".
i dont think any of the dates that are mentioned anywhere are legit because blizzard have only said that it will be released "when its ready" also...whats SC? cuz i only know of SC being soul calibur but you guys a re saying release dates for SC2 so it cant be soul calibur lol ... im confused
Diablo 3 = Warcraft 3 RPG The graphics are pathetic :( Sorry but it does not look like a diablo sequel
Diorj: I was wondering the same thing...I haven't seen a news story confirming a release date, yet GS lists it as Dec. 31 2008. Also, I haven't heard anything about a SCII release date either, yet it's listed as Dec. 3rd 08. Both circuitcity.com and bestbuy.com list the third as the release date for SCII...what gives? Anyone else know if these are legit???
game of the century.....my reason to stay up all night with a 12 pack of soda and a bag of chips have come to mind once again....
This is a great announcement! It's too bad that it will be at least another year before it gets released, but that will give me time to upgrade the computer since it looks like it's more hardware intensive than the last release (and yes, my computer is ancient). Gameplay looks familiar... which is a good thing.
So, Diablo is one of my favorite games of all time. As is Starcraft. Why is everyone complaining about the graphics of their new installments? I play WoW, I've been playing WoW for a year and a half. I can tell you that these games do NOT look like WoW, because I've been staring at them...Well, for that long. Diablo III looks beautiful IMO. They're just giving it a little more color. I'm sure there will still be just as much blood, pentagrams, and well...Diablo...As we can all handle. Infact, once it comes out I'm cancelling my WoW subscription :). As for SCII...Hail to the king baby :)
Cant wait for this game... WTB COW LEVEL!!! lets bring back the /cow channel.. am i right? SC3, D3 and WotLK... looks like its gonna be a few wicked good years to come over at Blizzard. Blizz, you rock!
There's reason why blizzard doesn't had the best visual game out there, but they no doubt best gameplay. Reason been because they focus what it really matter the gameplay, yes the visual is important, but nothing more than show off, and you will stop playing after play few round if gameplay sux, also why's the point had very nice visual when most pc today can't run it, this is not console, blizzard game would work in most machine even mac godsake it work, that's why wow is number 1 selling online game this is one of reason.
LOL @ your lame ass petition Z3R0B4NG. They've been working on Diablo III since 05, you think they're gonna change the visual and art style cuz of discruntled fans? Dream on dude, and to the rest of the idiots that think their petition is actually gonna make a difference....

I was there when they announced it :D. The atmosphere was totally wild, and I Jumped around like a kid since Diablo 1 & 2 are two of my favourite games. From what I saw in the Demo, the game looks to be the best of all, and the music sounds awesome :D.
