Dragon Age Awakening, Groovin' Blocks on PSN

PlayStation Store Update: BioWare's $40 expansion to acclaimed fantasy RPG joined by Empty Clip Studios' rhythm-puzzler on PS3; PSP gets Patchwork Heroes, The Red Star.
The week's biggest addition to the PlayStation Network store for the PlayStation 3 technically falls within the add-on category. Following on from its well-received PC and Xbox 360 bow earlier this week, Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening is now available through Sony's online store for $39.99. The add-on requires 1.57GB of available hard drive space.
Awakening offers an all-new storyline that serves as a postscript to BioWare's highly regarded fantasy role-playing game released in November. It focuses on rebuilding the Grey Wardens after the bloody events of the original game's campaign, delving deeper into the backstory of the Darkspawn and their ongoing objectives. The expansion raises Origins' level cap and introduces new enemies, spells, abilities, and party members.
Elsewhere on the PSN, gamers can pick up Empty Clip Studios' Groovin' Blocks for $9.99. A puzzle game, Groovin' Blocks features match-style rhythm action, where gamers attempt to clear a field of gems while in beat with the music. The game also accommodates local co-op and Versus modes.
Visual Concepts' 1997 shooter One arrives on Sony's PSone Classics channel for $5.99. The futuristic shooter received a generally positive reception upon its initial release more than 10 years ago. Those looking for a more placid play experience can alternatively pick up Nippon Ichi's Jigsaw Madness, which arrived for the original PlayStation in 2002, some two years after the system's successor had arrived. It also costs $5.99.
PSP gamers have a number of options this week. Folklore's Patchwork Heroes, where gamers attempt to destroy giant battleships by cutting them to pieces, can be acquired for $9.99, while XS Games' 3D side-scroller The Red Star lights up for $14.99. MumboJumbo has also bundled its match-three puzzlers Luxor Wrath of Set and Luxor Pharoh's Challenge together to form a $9.99 package.

It could of been way better than it is now. The dialogue looks like it's piece together quick + your results from Origins only carry over who's king or queen. And once again, the console versions suck compare to the PC, and the glitches are at all time high. It's worth if you have it for PC (mods FTW!), it's not if you own the console version. Specialization aren't that great either. Legionnaire Scout made me LMFAO for a Rogue.
Sorry Bioware but you missed on this one. Not that good and not a finished product. Have to get a better product for the console and not treat us like add ons to the PC.
@garryhove I loved DA:O too and have been wanting to get this, its £24 on shopto or amazon. the only reason I im holding off is no time to play it.
If the expansion pack is just as awesome as the game is, I will buy it... But are 40$ worth it?
I really liked the first one, the a 15 hr expansion pack which cost $40 is quite a deal for me..
Paying 40$ for 20-30 hours is much better than paying 60 or 70& for a eight-hour retail game. My god you just want something to cricticize...
While I do agree that 40 seems like a bit much for DLC, I'll still probably purchase it just on the grounds that if I go to Best Buy now, and buy a new game for 60, odds are it has less gameplay then this DLC. But it'll have to wait as I'm still playing FF13 and Demon's Souls lol.

I think it may even be cheaper in the long term to buy the dragon age expansion on the PSN then it is to buy it new. Which means this might be a really great deal. Congrats Sony;)
ive really got to ask everyone why you thumbing down the others, they got a point. 40 is way to much for a "expansion" that elder scrolls one is only 20 if im right. pricey but still more reasonable
vf21x its not a dlc pack..Its a full expansion with 20-30 hours worth of game-play..Get the facts before blogging about a article..Dragon age origins was finished about six months ago..It was ea who decided to wait for all three platforms to be released..So they where working on this expansion pack for six months..Bioware is awesome company best out there..
You are all tools for paying this much for a DLC with a few more hours of gameplay!!!! Given how much content there is and how soon it came out, BioWare just took it out of the game when they finished it!!! They knew suckers would pay extra for this and sure enough you did. Thanks Bioware for beoming another greedy gaming company and thank you tools, for feeding Bioware.
15 hrs for $40. no-brainer. Lots of games out there offer less for a whole lot more $. Only issue is companies charging the SAME for downlable content AS the disc-based version. Wasn't DLC supposed to save on manufacturing, distribution costs.

That is far too much money for an expansion. You can buy a stand alone new game for that. Which I would do.
1.57GB for $40, I love Dragon Age, but this is a rip off. I got all the DLCs and think those are rip off too. I will wait till Awaken drops to $20. How they got 15hr out of 1.57 gb is impressive.
I read the title as "Dragon Age Awakening Groovin' Blocks" and had a "WTF?!" moment. "How could they call it something so dumb?"
@luffy11234 its not a DLC, u can go to any store and buy it on a disk because its an expansion. It doesnt add 1 or 2 of gameplay, it adds 15 hours plus of gameplay, new story, new companions, its an expansion
$40 for dlc? i can buy a whole new game with amout of money. or just much more dlc in that matter lol
