Upcoming compilation for PC, PS3, Xbox 360 includes original game, Awakening expansion, all nine downloadable content packs for $60.
The Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition cat has been out of the bag since a GameStop product page was spotted nearly two months ago, but Electronic Arts today finally made it official. The PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 compilation will arrive October 26 and will include the base game along with all of the game's downloadable content packs at a $60 price point.
With the extra content packed in, Ultimate Edition will take players from their recruitment into the elite Grey Wardens and the Darkspawn invasion in the original game, through the exploration of Amaranthine in the full Awakening expansion. In addition to those two main campaigns, players will get access to all nine of the smaller add-ons, from the Stone Prisoner add-on given away with all new purchases of Dragon Age, to Witch Hunt, which was released earlier this month. The Ultimate Edition even includes the Feastday Gifts and Feastday Pranks packs to let players show appreciation or disdain for their party members.
Players who crave even more Dragon Age won't have to wait too long for another helping. Dragon Age II is set for release March 8 and will see players take Blight-survivor Hawke from a lowly refugee to a heralded champion. BioWare has promised new combat mechanics for the game's classes, as well as "an entirely new cinematic experience."

I got the base game for my friend back in January for his birthday. I watched him play it a little. Looked awesome but never bought it due to having a new girlfriend lol d*** woman always getting in the way of gaming. Well it payed off this time I guess. I think Im gonna pick this up myself or have her get it for me for Xmas. Either way I'll be happy. Im tired of FPS. Im huge fan of RPGs. Wanna pick up Fable 3 as well bu thats another story. STOKED!
Glad I somehow didn't notice/pay attention to this game till now, have a renewed RPG interest from a re-play of Oblivion, and then it's off to the store next week for the Ultimate Version... brilliant!
I still have the original that I paid full price for... I'll wait until this is about $30.
I thought it's going to be released on the 26th, but I just bought this yesterday. Excellent value! Installation is quite easy and a lot of goodies are already included. There is also the Dragon Armor and some other things. I was able to redeem a new Staff in the Bioware site. But not yet sure how I can use it within the game. Still fiddling around with the interface...
This is why I waited. I'll take my good sweet time with it so the wait for DAII won't feel so long.
@shkar Just get Witch Hunt DLC. BTW DA:II isnt 10 years after DA:O it's set over a ten year period.
@hahamanin just get this. It's a great deal and if you have the console verision for dragon age, trade it in to buy this at gamestop.
Do any of you know if the dlc is going to be on a disk because i havent seen any info regarding this?
I'll pass got the game and the dlc's and tell you the truth the dlcs were just ok nothing to tell a friend about really....
Cant wait to pick this up for my PS3, I love BioWare games and I need something new until Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3 comes out!!
This is perfect. I've been trying my best to hold off on buying the game and DLC individually for something specifically like this, finally the wait is over.
All I know is Dragon Age: Origins was a great freakin game. That being said I am slightly pissed about spending extra money on all those bs add-ons throughout the course of its life. Especially now that we know that we can get it all for $60 out the door. I really really hope they don't funk up DA2.
Sweet. I'va always had DA:O on the brain but never got around to buying it and now it shows up on a silver platter like its just screaming at me, "hurry up and buy this game!".
Just have the base game so I'll probably get it, but I'm wondering as well as others it seems, on the DC's. Will you still have to download something after the disk code, or do you just pop in one of the disks and there they are??? Cheers Tom
Meh! Most of the downloads were disappointing. I'll run some player made mods till DA2 comes out.
I was debateing weather to buy Awakening or not today.. But i sorta wanna play this game on the console (and i only have it for the p/c) so i'll prolly jus buy this Ultimate edition for the xbox 360 and give it a go :)
Why do companies always punish loyal customers and reward casual players? This is pretty much a slap in the face to any who bought the game at launch and payed the most money for the buggiest product. At the very minimum reduce the prize of the ultra short DLCs and Awakening for those of us who owns the base game. Bah, this is nothing more than the usual corporate BS from EA. Thx but no thx.
@ SneekyRatchet Are you seriously choosing between this and Demon's Souls? You know Dragon Age doesn't even come close to the awesomeness that was Baldur's Gate, right? I already own Demon's Souls so I'm kinda interested in this ultimate edition but do yourself a favour and buy Demon's Souls. And you can always pick up the ultimate edition for under $40 in the spring (when Dragon Age 2 comes out :) )
thats true most people said the DLC was garbage but the original game is a different story. i might get it...its either this or demon's souls...
The VAST majority of the DLC is absolute garbage and a total waste of money. Warden's Keep was my favorite out of them and it lasted less than an hour. Where else can you waste $10.00 for 40 minutes of entertainment? Drugs maybe?
And here I got everything and I could have just waited and gotten this for much less. Oh well.
yeah. I may hold back getting awakening and anything else also to get this one when it comes out.
Excellent news. I have the original DAO but the moment I heard the possibility of this a month or so back, I held back the purchase of Awakening and the DLCs. Great deal...atleast for those who didn't buy all those DLCs before. :P
Cool, but I've already played all of the DLC that I'm even slightly interested in. Don't feel like playing prequel stories, the darkspawn thing, or the witch hunt thing which lasts like 1 hour.
Haha! Yes! I knew waiting would work out in the end. Mind you, I still would have bought this game eventually, but at a much lower price point. Now that they're releasing this ultimate edition, I'll probably snatch it up soon after it's released.
