Dragonica to relaunch as DragonSaga in Asia
DragonSaga aimed for Q1 2013 launch for South East Asia; closed beta for December announced.
South East Asian fans of Dragonica were left disappointed earlier this year when the Singapore and Malaysia services were discountinued. But it seems life is about to spring back into the side-scrolling MMORPG, with the relaunched game--now titled DragonSaga--announced for a local return in early 2013.
Korean internet company and games publisher NHN--which has recently set up a SEA HQ in Singapore--will be publishing the Gravity Games developed title locally. DragonSaga promises a major revamp from the old Dragonica, upgrading the game to a 3D side-scroller that allows more movement, improved dungeons and monster bosses, a housing and marriage system, and more.
The new service is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2013, with the South East Asian servers supporting both English and Chinese language.
NHN today also announced a closed beta for DragonSaga, which is due to start in December. Registration for entry into the beta opens on November 30. Players who successfully join the closed beta will be able to try out the game's Legendary Content, its new chain combo system, and more.
“We at NHN Singapore are very excited to release this game to the South East Asian audience. We are making the game available through the closed beta testing as it is a good venue for seasoned, casual, and even newbie gamers to report bugs, make suggestions, and rate the game accordingly. We are expecting a good turnout on this as we can assure that those who are familiar with the game that DragonSaga SEA will feature a much more diverse world and dynamic action as well as features-rich and more exciting content,” Eric Lee, managing director of NHN Singapore, said.
Players interested in registering for the closed beta can visit the official website.
