I really want to play through rock band 2 some more so I can play visions because it is one of the heaviest songs on this setlist!
Sequel to ship with more than 80 songs; Harmonix says 500-plus songs available by year's end.
At Microsoft's E3 press conference this morning, Harmonix's Alex Rigopulos unveiled some more details about the upcoming Rock Band 2, including confirmation on some of the big acts expected to line up for the game. Headlining the list are hard-rock legends AC/DC, who finally make their rhythm-game debut with the song "Let There Be Rock."
Music legend Bob Dylan was also confirmed for Rock Band 2, with the song "Tangled Up in Blue" making the song list. And in big news for Guns N' Roses fans, Rigopulos said that the song "Shackler's Revenge" from the long-in-gestation Chinese Democracy album was also being included.
Rigopulos said that the game will ship with more than 80 tracks in total, including songs by Metallica, Pearl Jam, Devo, Jane's Addiction, Modest Mouse, Interpol, and more. Twenty more tracks will be available for free download after the launch. Including new and previous downloadable content, Rigopulos said that there would be more than 500 tracks available for the game by the end of the year.
Owners of the original game look set to have a seamless experience with the sequel. Any songs previously downloaded from the store will be compatible with Rock Band 2, and users will also be able to port songs from the original to completely skip the disc-swapping process.

Nice list Lord_Darkstorn, i couldnt agree more, but hell, painkiller...hard to resist. Also more Dream Theatre and a little bit of Royal Hunt imo
Dio Queensryche Savatage Tool Threshold C'mon, guys, get some more prog-metal! (congrats on Aqualung, though).
i like the setlist for rock band 2 but everything else on GH is better...i would have liked to see maybe some stone temple pilots and a better nirvana and metallica song. and maybe some more alice in chains.
They need to add more non mainstream songs. My music preference happens to be punk rock. Not the mainstream kind people think of today. Most of the genre is not mainstream so we have no punk songs. I would buy this game if it had songs i actually liked. I wish they would add a feature to add customs song made by others.
Guitar Hero World Tour will NOT beat the other GH, adding drums and vocals beats the fact that its name GUITAR Hero, the name includes GUITAR, not Guitar and Drums and Vocal Hero
Great game! But I think ill stick with GH. World tours setlist goes with my musical tastes more. Rock band is a tasty treat though
No jukebox mode :( Bad planning by Harmonix there.... Songs are amazing for RB2 however GHWT instuments will no doubt be better quality.
Rock Band 2= better setlist Guitar Hero= Better instruments and overall better gameplay ......mmmm, to be honest, although the songs will not be as good in GH, RB2 is good to play at sumone elses house but for actually keeping for myself, i think i'll go with GHWT. GH has some amazing new features that RB didnt do, all Harmonix really updated was track songs, i dunno if thats worth the money
I think this is a better track than guitar hero. The only thing that they have and rock band doesn't is CRAZY TRAIN! Its probably the only song i want to play on it. Most of the songs you can find in both games.
wow the gh setlist doesn't even come close to this. most of the maybe 15 songs i liked on the gh setlist are on here anyway, so its no question about which is better. I predict that Rock Band 2 will absolutely blow Gh away.
GNR should have put Better instead of shacklers revenge more people would have faith in them after hearing that for the first time since after shackler some ppl are gonna be like lol wut
Well since PotUSA, Modest Mouse, and Rush are all in my top 5 as artists and The Trees is the greatest song ever (Thats a fact not my opinion), I will be buying this. Now all they need is some old Yes...
Pretty decent setlist....but GHWT setlist beats this by leaps and bounds. Although 500 songs is very impressive, the song editor in ghwt allows you to create any song ever made and that capability has me excited.
but.. if either had Billy talent I would buy two sets of peripherals for that game, just so that that company gets some more money
Yay i preordered it! Comes tomorrow! Good thing I don't have a PS3 or else I would of had to wait 'till the 19th next month. >:-(
I just looked at guitar hero's setlist......... It sucks. Painkiller will be nuts on every instrument.
Hmm, I think this setlist is slightly inferior to GHWT. However, 500 + songs, thats pretty cool and cant be ignored.
dude screw this im gettin GHWT...some of these songs just plain suck like we got the beat and kids in america..but im somewhat impressed with acdc, gnr's new song (finally), tenacious d, and disturbed...but im stickin with guitar hero
