EA's response to being named Consumerist Worst Company. (Parody?)

Perhaps now is time for them to wake up from dream.

I remember this... I think EA's CEO said something like, "bla bla pharmaceutical companies bla bla oil companies bla bla we make lots of award winning games"

Out of all the games they've made, few of them have actually won awards. XD

Otherwise, I agree, the oil companies mucking up the oceans should've been voted the worst.

what really made me mad was their decision to get rid of disk. u expect me to pay $50, $60 bucks for a game then take 30 hours to download? nope.Not to mention how so many of their games have to be connected to the internet now. wake up EA, the iceberg is on the horizion and ur speeding towards it.

I hope that EA will take this as a warning and stops  mocking great games with their  endless hunger for cash and lisen more to opinions of their customers wich pay their salary and keeps them on the market otherwise they will have the same fate as 38 Studios.

Think about the fact they've ruined the Command & Conquer and Mass Effect franchises at the first available opportunity, and I'm not really sure they're not going to be douche-bags with the TOR license.

You play C&C4 or ME3 and say, without a shadow of a doubt, EA aren't, right now, a terrible company.

I ask this as well... What huge difference does it make, in ME3, if you're dating a man or woman if you still get color filter explosions and your crewmates running off on you?

Well an Award is an Award. What it represents is meaningless, so CONGRATULATIONS to EA Games! Just do your thing and ignore the haters :D

Well I for one don't believe that EA is the worst company because some of their games are really good as compared to others. EA sometimes just need to rethink their strategies but otherwise they're better off than other companies.

I really like Mass Effect 1 & 2, Dead Space 1 & 2. I´ve enjoyed Crysis 2, Dragon Age 1 and many other. I´ve had purchased them brand new, except dead space 2, wich i bought pirate :(   ... but from now on... every time i wanna play an EA´s game... i´ll buy it used... 

Of course they wouldn't take it as an opportunity to reorganize themselves. Instead they had to say simply, "meh there are worse things out there than our crappy money grabbing techniques."

@Mewi wait till u meet activision's customer support.....2 hours just to convince them the problem isnt on ur side and 1 hour for them to realize that im a paying customer....

Anyone who has dealt with EA support knows just what kind of company they are.

@S001_PRIMAL no that just shows the real underlining horror of this is all the things you listed are being accepted as "that's just how it is" it's not the problems the world complain about that hurt consumers it's the ones they don't

I've been negative on EA long before the Mass Effect ending controversy came about. Ever since they signed that exclusive rights deal with the NFL so that Madden is the only NFL game out there they have constantly been mailing it in. I don't really care that the grass looks realistic or that the jerseys move with the player's movements. I want it to look like what I see on TV. Now the NCAA football game does that. Back in 2005 NFL 2K5 really did that. Madden is becoming way too stale.

so...activision isnt the worst.....a copy and paste every year, 14.99 plus tax for every addon....cheap disgraceful servers....elite being terrible (not bad idea though) terrible customer support.....so these arnt bad things???

The internet is funny. While I will agree that EA is the worst gaming company in America, saying it's the worst gaming company in America is ridiculous. When some of these internet kids go to buy a house, need to pay for grandma's new hip or wonder what their federal tax dollars are funding then they'll start to understand that EA is not even close to being the worst company in America. Some of the CEOs in this country need to be hauled off in handcuffs. America is ruled by corporate welfare queens and robber barons.

There isn't just one thing wrong with EA to make it recieve the 'Golden Poo' award. It's a combination of so many things! My problem with them has been the quality of the games they have produced lately and poor customer support. EA used to be a really good company but now only want the bucks by using products names but producing subpar quality/cheap labor. Oh, along with this subpar quality, don't even try asking for help....chances are you won't get help from them.

I,m not american, so to me it's indiferent who won. But of one thing I'm absolutly sure: EA is a cancer in the gaming world. The harbinger of any developer's destruction. When EA buys a new smaller developer, you can be sure that the said developer will go down hill from there on. They may make a lot of money, by investing very strong on publicity and creating hype for their titles. But the real overall quality of the product WILL GO DOWN. Everytime.

Typicall, companies ( oil, tobacco, and weapons) who have deaths on their mind, are not mentioned. I find i disturbing. they made the consumer addicted to their products so they enjoy high interests from them! Bribe???

what people don't understand is that even if it wasn't an internet poll. Most people never got a loan from BoA. It would be difficult to poll which company is bad just on how egregious their acts are. BoA will win every time, even if they are improving, especially if you're asking people who deal with them. There should be categories, such as: Customer service, quality of product, etc etc.

this is actually a good thing. though i may not entirely agree that EA is a worse company than say bank of america (after what i've read), and even though EA sounds like theyre brushing this off as nonsense, internally this strikes a major cord for the company. i hope this brings about a genuine change not just with EA but with all of the other major companies (yes capcom, im also referring to you) who seem to be high on this corparate greed campaign plaguing the gaming society. it doesnt always have to be dollars and cent at the end of ever single day

This is what happens if you try to vote by using the Internet only. You only mostly get votes and interest from children and young people instead of the population in general. A lot of readers who aren't gamers are going to be confused and take this survey as a joke. Most of the reasons and gripes given in the comment section pales in comparison of that of other companies. EA has mostly affected your gaming experience, but other companies listed affected people's lives or wallets. Which one's more important?

No, we don't buy your games EA. We buy the games of the developers you bought out. You guys don't make a darn thing. All you do, is buy out good devs and then end up pushing them in ways that hurts the quality of the games, and add in as many ways to rip off the customers as possible. People like your devs, but they HATE YOU !!! ... Jackasses ...

EA does have its lame games now and then.

I hate how they ruin a franchise that used to be sooo good without them. Command and Conquer used to be my favorite RTS, but after the Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 I haven't liked anything to come out of EA's take on it except for Generals. Then the Sims has been the same game with the same expansion packs for the past 12 years and has had no remarkable improvement over the original Maxis series, other than the graphics I guess. I just pray that Take Two and Rockstar/2K remains the excellent power house and awesome developers they are and resist EA's evil hostile takeover attempts.

@MerrickBFox Of course we're going to buy there games when they buy up all the good and popular IP's and developers that have established a good fan base before EA (Maxis and Westwood for example) then eliminate the competition that dont join them by buying licenses for popular franchises and company's like the NFL and Porche that the average person knows and wants in there game. Their business practices lets them make substandard games without worry of competition outshining them (I.e.-NFL 2K). While the consumer is pissed because Madden hasn't been good since 2005, and excellent games like Gran Turismo and Midnight Club can't get Porche, but crappy games like Need for Speed gets over saturated with them.

@Justforvisit Yes, I know the difference. I was just testing to see if you were going to stick to your rule given different circumstances. In other words, I was checking to see if you were singling out EA just because you don't like them. Personally, I think they DO deserve some credit for the changes they made with their EA Partners setup until recently when they got more corporatized again. But if you don't, that's fine. I respect that.

I HATE EA!!!! They suck so bad!!! (runs out and buys their products) What? 64% of ppl hate EA the most but continue to support it? Perhaps they don't know what hate means? Or, perhaps they think it's ''cool'' to hate EA and they don't wanna look like a wuss by admitting that they might actually like EA products. Pretty funny imo. (please note the use of sarcasm to demonstrate a point)

@Justforvisit I don't see how that disproves my point. Maxis and Visceral games are owned by EA. By this logic EA can't even be given credit--or discredit--for what EA Tiburon does. And to take this further, we can't give any credit to Sony for Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, SOCOM, Resistance, Heavy Rain, Ico/Shadow, or Motorstorm. Of course, if you DON'T think Sony deserves any credit for those games, then I concede your point. Just checking for consistency. :)

@the_mic Of course not, he's only blasting them and saying "oh you guys are horrible companies, so much worse than me and my company... but I'm going to use your products in our games, and as long as they continue to sell and make me more money, I'll keep using them, you horrible, horrible people!" I find it slightly hypocritical to suggest companies are horrible yet use their products in your own.

I will never forgive them for killing Origin Systems, Inc. Damn them to hell. I'm still waiting for another non-MMO space-fighting-trading-semi-RPG game with the ease of use of Wing Commander: Privateer. I miss Autoduel (Steve Jackson's Car Wars and Autoduel RPG codified), and Tangled Tales, and Ultima, and Moebius, and Space Rogue, and even Omega. EA is a true mega-corporation. It's like the Master Control Program in the movie Tron: it consumes other systems, absorbing those programs it can use, and destroying the rest. Bioware was better prior to EA acquisition. Maxis was better prior to EA acquisition (SimCity Societies?). Origin was still alive prior to EA acquisition. How many game companies has EA destroyed to date? Was it worth it?

I hate EA because they publish so many great games....by so many talented developers being squandered under EA's belt. I somehow don't see them as the worst company in America...but definitely the worst in gaming, just based on their principals.
