Bethesda pushes back release date of upcoming add-on to undetermined date in future based on "circumstances outside our control."
Bethesda announced in May that gamers would be able to journey down Fallout: New Vegas' Lonesome Road in July. However, the add-on content didn't make it out that month, and it won't see release in August either, the publisher today confirmed.
Writing in the New Vegas forums, Bethesda senior producer Jason Bergman announced that the Lonesome Road downloadable content has been delayed. The developer said "circumstances outside our control" have forced the studio to push the content's release at least until September. Bergman didn't offer a new release date for Lonesome Road but did say the team is working to get it released "as quickly as possible."
Though Bethesda did bring gamers unfortunate news of the delay today, the developer also released the first screenshot from the content (above). It shows a battered road with a highway sign that reads "High Rd. 1/2 mile."
When it is released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, the $10 Lonesome Road DLC will see gamers being contacted by the original Courier Six, who refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the beginning of the game. Gamers will be offered the reason for his refusal if they agree to venture into the Divide, which has been ravaged by earthquakes and hurricanes.
I hope this gets released before all the Autumn games like Batman, Gears, and Skyrim come out or else I'm not even going to download it since I will be so involved in the new games. That is why I wish it would have been available this month since I have nothing to play right now.
Wow! There was a post on the fallout wiki where the head developer guy was telling people to stop worrying about lonesome road not coming out in august. He was saying it would DEFINITELY meet its august release date. Look how that went...
Ok honestly people I had the game preordered and have never encountered any substansial bugs after 9 months and around 100 gameplay hours later the worst bug I've seen is a cazador or a radscorpian getting stuck in the ground. Sorry people maybe the bugs come from your poor treatment of the disc

Everyone is saying how a GOTY edition should cost $50.00 - $59.99... Hiw things have changed! GOTY used to mean it has all of the updates, fixes and add-ons, but also is an "out of market" game - which could not fetch regular prices. GOTY games used to sell at $29.99, which is $10.00 above "platunum hit" types games. For example Oblivion GOTY features all the DLC that people paid for and only costs $20.00. If there is no price difference, then there is no reason I can see to wait for a GOTY. On a personal note, I suffered through many hours of this game - playing it well before people knew about the bugs (we knew it had bugs but Bethesda hadn't told us exactly where they were). I stopped because even after 4-5 patches the quest bugs were not fixed. Supposedly they finally got around to addressing them at about the 7th patch - but still nothing to fix problems in existing games (you need to start all over to play a "fixed" game). I just can't do 200 hours again - maybe in the distant future, but I am too frustrated with the problems that screwed up my original game and this game is too long to be doing a "do - over: DLC or not.
I'd love to see how Europe is fairing in the Fallout universe. Maybe a spin off set in China, there was an American detachment in China when the bombs dropped, hard to believe these military personnel had no way to hide it out. Perhaps they are still fighting the war against a Chinese enemy renowned for their tenacity at fighting long drawn out battles of attrition. Maybe even Russia is getting into the fray. Imagine that, a very different Fallout game set around war and territory constantly shifting in an open world WW2 style trench warfare game. Between the remaining US army and the Chinese remnants.
Damn, I've been gagging for this since completing the excellent Old World Blues. Fortunately I've just finished original Fallout on PC, and am now obsessed with Fallout 2. Then I have Fallout Tactics, plus I'm on my second play-thru of New Vegas, so I guess I pretty much have a lot more Fallout to experience. It's kinda sad that this is the last DLC. We probably won't see Fallout 4 until the next gen consoles come out.
I do hope they come out with it soon, as long as its not really buggy. I've enjoyed the first 3 DLC and I've been wanting the confrontation with this mysterious other courier since you are first told about him :)
I've only just recently invested in all three DLCs. Now I'm busy playing the first one. Fallout NV has definitely not aged well. The only attraction is its mood, and even that is lacking in the 1st DLC pack! I can't say much for the other two as I still need to start playing them!
@tangyzesty LOL .....who said i own the game ....its actually a much smarter move to wait till the goty edition drops before buying RPGs such as this .....its the only way i feel i'm getting my money's worth
That has got to be one stretch on an imagination to believe that Las Vegas gets hurricanes.
Personally I hate delays, but if it's to fix an issue rather then just make us wait then I'm fine with that.
@tangyzesty, they probably don't own the game. Also, the GotY version will probably cost just $50 on PC. I'm still confused, though, given how weak most DLC is compared to the main game. @brylynt, admitting you pirate games in public is VERY stupid.

I keep reading comments from people saying "I'll buy it when the GOTY comes out", but what I don't understand is if you already own the game, that is flawed reasoning. 5 $10 DLC's is $50 before tax, while the GOTY is going to be $59.99 at release. So what exactly is the point of waiting who knows how many months just so you can SPEND an extra $10?
Im not gonna buy any DLC for my copy (360 version). And i'm gonna waitu till the GOTY Edition for the PC then i'll rebuy it complete with DLC
I really don't want this to be released after Skyrim, because frankly, I wouldn't play it.
Mar044 - the reason why EA backs out of anything is because they don't get "their share". Digital downloads allow a publisher to strip royalty rights from a developer, which should give people food for thought. I'm with Caketoo's opinion that it is most likely being delayed due to market reasons. September's only three weeks away, so there's no reason to schvitz over this.
it better be released at least 1 week before Gears 3 or they might aw well delay it until next year

Someone probably spilled a diet mr pibb on the main CPU. Its the 4th most common cause in video game delays or Its probably being delayed so the money it makes is reflected in the new fiscal quarter,Damn captialisim.
I'm guessing it didn't pass certification on the 360 or PS3 or both. Assuming that, then how buggy and broken is Lonesome Road if New Vegas passed certification in the dreadful state it shipped in?
Once a gotye is released then I will buy it again with all of the dlc on disc. I did the same with F3.
you have to wonder if steam messing with companies and the dlc has something to do with why Ea left because of dlc issues with steam. maybe bethesda also negotiating whatever new tearms steam is making companies do, only reason outside our control.

Jesus Christ ...... How many more delays for these DLCs? After the joke Dead Money, Honest Hearts with its 5 minute Joshua Graham reference, and the Old World Blues grind-a-thon are we actually gonna get a piece of DLC that is good? or a Piece of DLC that is released on time?
