i dont see what everyones fussing about gears of war judgment looks like a great game and they put gears of war 1 with judgment that AWESOME
2006 original shooter to be bundled with launch copies of upcoming franchise entry in all regions except Germany.
Epic Games today announced that a download token for the 2006 original Gears of War will be included with launch copies of March's Gears of War: Judgment. The original Gears of War was not sold in Germany due to ratings restrictions and will thus not be part of the promotion.
Gears of War is currently available through Microsoft's Games on Demand platform for $20.
In addition, Epic Games provided insight into users' Gears of War play habits. Citing unspecified research, Epic Games said more than half of all consumers who played Gears of War 3 did not play the original.
Gears of War: Judgment is due out exclusively on Xbox 360 March 19, 2013 and is the first entry in the series since 2011's trilogy-capping Gears of War 3. Developed by Epic Games in conjunction with Bulletstorm studio People Can Fly, the project focuses on series soldier Damon Baird and will not use the Kinect.

THIS IS BULL!!!!!! if you havent played the first one what the f*** have you people been doing playing the 2nd and 3rd one. this makes no sense, The gaming industry is really P-ing me off right about now
@firstclassgamer Why Can't we play the newest Gears without playing the older ones? The story is always re-caped in game anyway. Stop fussing Jesus.
GoW1 didn't force 4-man co-op into the campaign, and that made it even better.
As a solo campaign adventure (I hate other people), GoW1 and GoW2 did the job best.
Even though I still have my original Gears of War copy. This is a nice touch including the original game with Judgement. I surprised that many people have never played the original. I cannot wait for Gears of War Judgement the swan song for Xbox 360.
I remember when Gears looked like it was going to become the next "big thing" in gaming. The sequels never really took off like that first game did, though.
Gears of War 1 was such a great game. Hopefully people play this game more than Judgement. As a frequent player of GOW1, I'm dying to see the point where I actually have to scroll down to find more servers.
Long live GOW1!
@Atombomb1981 Like Dragon Age?
There's trend these days to have a trilogy in mind, even before the 1st title is launched.
And to answer your question, Dragon Age 1 (especially the Ultimate Edition) is simply great and stands by itself. It didn't require a sequel. However it was a bestseller and it soon spawned a sequel, a mediocre one, but a sequel nonetheless.A 3rd one is mandatory, but at least we can hope it would be better.
I looked at that trailer a few months ago and it looks just like Gears 3... I guess I'll pick it up once its like 20 bucks.
Judgment is even worth buying if you are a fan of the franchise, folks. There will be no horde mode, beast mode, Execution, Warzone, KOTH, Annex, Guardian, etc. ONLY FFA, Overrun, TDM (with no life pools like in Gears 3) and Domination and MP modes. Players CANNOT go DBNO in MP and there are no executions. There will also be no playable locust outside of Overrun mode and players CAN'T spawn with both a rifle and shotgun like in past games. All of this is confirmed to be true by Epic themselves. If you want to play for the campaign (made by PCF) and can't resist to try the MP, please just rent this or buy the game used. Don't support Epic turning this into a COD clone by giving them your money. Besides, you can buy the first game for less than $5 if you want to play it that badly.
@handssss Wow...just wow. This is news to me. Don't need anymore CoD clones. I'll pass
@handssss Now I know why Cliffy B left.
@handssss Really?! source?
This guy speaks the truth and I said the same thing below my post and for source, go to gamefaq and the Gears of War Judgment boards will tell you everything. P.S no Active Reload, that is what made GOW so popular and this is why Cliff B. left in the first place.
@Pr0ving4Gr0undz @handssss All of this information comes from the official Epic games podcasts. I'm not sure if 12 and 13 (the latest 2) confirm ALL of these things I mentioned, but they should confirm most. http://epicgames.com/community/2012/12/epic-games-podcast-12-jim-brown-talks-about-judgment/
The official Epic forums are seething with anger right now. This includes me.
Gears One was The game to play. Beat the campaign eight times (never done that with any other game heh), played the hell out of the multiplayer, and for 2006 it was utterly stunning how great it looked. Got all the maps for free and loved how gritty and intimate the combat was versus all the other shooters out there. Don't know about Judgement, but Gears One was bloody fun.

@ZetA_LatA The whole atmosphere of the first game is sensational. This is something that is kinda lost in the 3rd installment. Too colorful to feel like Gears of War. That original claustrophobic horror...
It seems that this atmosphere is back in Judgement. I hope so.
Gears 1 was SO damn overrated. Horrid, grey/brown graphics, terribly stiff and clunky gameplay, braindead AI that required constant babysitting, and uninteresting characters.
Resistance was Gears of War: Good Version.
then why does gears have a higher metacritic score then resistance? ohh snap...
I like Gears 1 and I still agree with you. Graphics weren't all that good and gameplay was a bit stiff as well. AI were pretty much useless in combat and the story/characters were not interesting. I enjoyed playing it but I agree, Very overrated game.
@DrKill09 again comparing this FPS with this cover based shooter? This shit will never get old for fanboys. If I had a penny for everytime I've seen this I'll be as rich as Bill Gates.
Hell, I had a 360, but it broke every six months. I had a Wii, also, but nothing good came out except the Mario games and Mad World, but that was hardly enough worth keeping a system over. Couldn't even play DVD's...
You posted "Resistance was Gears of War: Good Version."
Sorry, but I've seen a lot of that in years 2006, 2008, and 2011, years when Eeery Resistance and Gears game "competed", this being different games in different subgenres in different platforms. And is always the same biased fanboy rant, from both sides. I apologize for calling you fanboy, hell you are right to be mad at 360 for it's (still) shoddy hardware.
@DrKill09 Just another ignorant @SShole.
@DrKill09 lol nice story bro
@DrKill09 If you played the game when it came out you wouldn't say that. When it came out there wasn't a game so awesome as Gow on any other platform, it was basically the best game for both co-op and online play on the market.
@ilantis @DrKill09 PLAY it when it came out? I bought it. Because of the hype, I bought the special edition, even. The game sucked ass. The game was way too stiff, and the AI was terrible. The only remotely cool thing was the chainsaw bayonet, but that can only make up for so much.
Why do people always assume you haven't played a game just cause you have a drastically different OPINION?!
@DrKill09 There is a profound difficulty for people on the internet to imagine and/or tolerate someone who has a different opinions than them (or the general consensus). For everyone that likes a game, there are those that dislike/hate it, which shouldn't be so hard to understand (though obviously it is). I haven't played GoW 1, but its PC version seems nice, so I might get it one day. I'm buried in games at the moment, though, so it'll have to be sometime next year or even later.
is this included as a separate DVD or apart of the main DVD? because it would be really cool to return to the original game with equipment found in the latest version - i.e shields / mortars / grinders / silverbacks
