God of War: Ascension multiplayer beta hitting this year

Global prerelease trial for upcoming action game arriving first for PlayStation Plus members; director Todd Papy calls feedback "critical."
God of War: Ascension will be the first entry in the series to include a multiplayer component, and gamers eager to try this mode out before the game ships on March 12, 2013, are in luck. Sony announced recently through the PlayStation Blog that it will offer a prerelease multiplayer beta for the game.
The beta will roll out sometime later this year, with God of War: Ascension game director Todd Papy explaining it will be available globally, and first to PlayStation Plus subscribers.
Papy said receiving feedback from beta testers is "critical" for God of War: Ascension as a means to help the developer tune and polish the game's multiplayer mode.
God of War: Ascension is a prequel to the original trilogy that will tell Kratos' origin story. The game's multiplayer mode will include persistent features as players develop their Troy or Spartan soldiers over time. Performance on the battlefield can yield blessings from the gods in the form of new perks, weapons, and abilities. There will also be a number of different combat roles for players, depending on the god they associate themselves with, be it Hades, Poseidon, Zeus, or Ares.

right now this game is not on the top of my list to buy next year but if i like the beta it surely can be somwhere up there.
I developers would bring back "New Game Plus." That can add so much replay value.. Especially over shovelware MP design.

The thought of a God of War game with multiplayer was something I did not foreseen, but it is about time.
I think God of War having multiplayer is pretty cool. Sure, it's probably not going to catch on in the way that a big FPS would, but at least it's something different.

you know it has single player right? you dont have to use a feature just becau its there ive got AC2, brotherhood and revs but have not once stepped in to the AC MP and doubt i ever will
3 Like I was against Mass Effect 3 MP back then, but after playing it, I like it and stil playing MP to this day, so As for God of War: Ascension, I will not be judging this MP until I play it so thank you Sony for the early Beta.

@nocoolnamejim Sorry, but many of us GoW fans are looking forward to the mp. The industry is saturated with fps mp. This is something else, which is welcomed.
@nocoolnamejim I myself miss "new game plus." MP isn't always the best way to add replay value.
