Tomb Raider was the only game at e3 last year that impressed me in terms of graphics and technical presentation.. Like a little step up from other current generation games on that front, which we don't really see anymore because developers push them to their limit now they've been out for so long. Its a superficial thing, but its made me remember the game. Interested to see what else the game has to offer apart from that one stage demo sequence
God of War II director joins Tomb Raider dev
[UPDATE] Square Enix confirms action series director Cory Barlog hired on at California studio to work on Tomb Raider reboot and unannounced title.
Crystal Dynamics has hired God of War II director Cory Barlog, parent company Square Enix confirmed to GameSpot today.
Barlog will join the Redwood City, California-based studio to work on the Tomb Raider reboot as well as the studio's unannounced game. His position and title at Crystal Dynamics were not mentioned.
Barlog is best known for his contributions to Sony's God of War action franchise. He served as game director for God of War II before leaving Sony Santa Monica in 2007, though he would also contribute to the PSP editions of the franchise, Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta.
[UPDATE] Square Enix confirmed to GameSpot today that Barlog is now employed at Crystal Dynamics.
Following his departure from Sony, Barlog worked on several projects, including a Mad Max game alongside writer-director George Miller (Mad Max, Happy Feet).
