Purported survey gauges interest in handheld version of racing series, new PS Plus offers to buy PS3 or Vita version of game and get the other free.
Sony's Gran Turismo racing franchise may be zipping to the PlayStation Vita. An IGN reader sent the site images from a supposed European Sony survey he participated in, and in it was mention of a Gran Turismo title for the new portable. This new game would be a portable version of the latest entry in the franchise.
If a Gran Turismo title is in fact in development for the PS Vita, it will be the second entry in the series to land on a Sony portable platform, following 2009's Gran Turismo for the PSP.
A subsequent question in the survey asks about possible future PlayStation Plus offers. The survey line reads, "Imagine that as part of PlayStation Plus, every time you bought a game on either PS3 or PS Vita, you would be entitled to get the game on the other console absolutely free. So, if you bought Resistance on PS Vita, you could download Resistance on PS3 for free. Or if you got FIFA on PS3, you could download the PS Vita version for free."
Lastly, the survey reportedly queries consumers about PS3 software purchase intent for different formats. It asks users how interested they'd be in buying games either at retail for a "standard store price" on a Blu-ray disc or digitally through the PlayStation Store for a discount of £5 ($7.77).
A Sony representative told GameSpot, "We don't comment on rumors or speculation, which this falls into."

The Gran Turismo franchise is one of the greatest console game endeavors to exist on any game platform. It was and is exceptional. I am not going to buy a PS3 and a Vita in order to play a crippled game. I want GT5 on my Vita... just WTF? How can any Playstation platform not include this game? It's top 5 at least.
Yea sure and it'll take them 5 years to release it like the really bad PSP GT that was promise in the beginning of that systems life. Gotta love sony for trying to sell Vita's with this scam again!
FINALLY - someone at Sony has woken up, taken of the blinkers and pulled out the cotton wool from their ears - some good news for Vita owners :P
Isn't it supposed to be all about simulating driving... You can't do that with a handheld, it'll just be a racing game with the name tagged on to sell it. Not interested, not to mention the last game was slightly lacking.
Please explain how gran truisms on the ps vita would differ from a ps3 gran turismo. Same style controller different size screen. Unless your willing to pay $400 on a steering wheel thingy. Just stop writing these comments that make no sense
1 Like @JimmeyBurrows Maybe you can use the motion sensor as a steering wheel and there might be many features that we still don't know, it hasn't been formally announced yet. Better not jump on conclusions.

1 Like Personally thought that the GT on PSP was a great game and can't understand all the complaints about it! I would very much be interested in a proper Vita version as I am currently replaying the PSP version on my Vita.
As for the buy it one get it on the other for free - excellent!
"Standard Store Price" - most new games can be found with more of a discount on day one! If you take Game as "Standard" at £39.99 then there are a variety of sites that will be cheaper and the best of these is usually £5 or more cheaper. Sony would have to do better than that to persuade me to buy newly released "full retail" games from the PS Store!
I like the buy one get one free idea, but I am not going to buy a port of or GT3.5 / GT4.5 with HD graphics. I WANT A TRUE NEXT GEN GT!!! not some rehashed garbage that GT5 & PSP was.
Good to see GT coming to Vita. I've kind of lost interest in the GT series, but fans will be happy :)
Yes! The BOGO free option is an incredible idea! I am already a PS+ member would welcome this great option. I am guessing GT6 will be on either the PS3 or PS4 along with a slightly trimmed down version on the Vita. I hope it's not trimmed down to much. Mortal Kombat had the right idea bypassing it's console big brother in content.
i wouldn't buy a vita because i;m a ds fan only because i want a fun handheld, don't get me wrong, the vita is probably amazing and if i did own one i would buy gran turismo as i've owned all the proper versions

Yeah I hear ya man only one company makes "fun" handhelds. Whenever I play my Vita its like I am working in a sweatshop for 10 cents an hour it sucks!
I thought the PSP version of Gran Turismo 4 was disappointing. While it looked good, lacked gameplay. Spent less than 10 hours playing a game that I pined over for 5 years.
I'm more of a Forza fan on the home consoles, but it'd be nice to see a fully fledged GT on the Vita, as long as it's deeper than the PSP version.

Hopefully Gran Turismo for the PSvita will be a great installment. Sony has go to take more care when creating franchise ports. Ridge Racer and Resistance Burning Skies on the PSvita are 2 examples when missteps happen.
