Next content update to feature new PVP map and guild missions.
Gamers looking to expand their time with GameSpot's PC and role-playing game of 2012 can look forward to more content soon.
According to NCsoft's official page for the game, developer ArenaNet will be releasing the second wave of downloadable content titled Flame & Frost: The Gathering Storm. The update features a new PVP map called the Spirit Watch, new guild missions, a new selectable achievement system, and a new PVP mode where two teams of equal average rating are pit against each other in a quick match.

I just can't seem to stop playing this game, but, if they don't do a substantial expansion soon (and i mean before The Elder Scrolls: Online comes out), I'm going to quit. I want a new class or race, or a new dungeon or zone to explore! Not these petty add-ons
This game is great, and I have been playing it since BWE3. So the fact that they are doing this now is very good timing, as it keep my interest.

This game still fits casuals more than anything. Ive only been playing a couple months and I have nothing left to do in it. Should have just called it Farm wars 2 , when you get to a point of having multiple lvl 80's and have done 100% map completition which is no hefty amount of time invested to do. Outside of the WvW(pvp) and farming for a legendary there is nothing else. For me it's been the same process lvl run a dungeon with a gear skin i want for a week, move on to the next profession, rinse repeat.
Whenever they add things that do have some gear type progression like ascended items from fractals and the new necks from laurels you get a bunch of players crying and complaining about it. As a result the community isnt even split, it consists of ppl who don't play a lot everyday and ppl who are ready to move on to another game but keep hanging around in hopes of getting more to do at 80 down the road.
@cpenney25 It took me a few hundred hours to 100% the world. For people that only play a couple hours a day, that could take quite a while. I don't play this game as much as I did for the first couple months after it came out, but I revisit it a couple hours a week and still find things I like to do, be it WvW or PVP.
@Poodgerbe it WvW or PVP". Again if you are not a pvp fan and strictly into dungeons this game is not for you. It damn well sure didn't take me hundreds of hours to 100%% map either. My first 80 was at 72%% the day he dinged lvl 80 which was on my 5th day of playing btw.
Now don't get me wrong I've wanted to like this game but for someone who's played every MMO going this one has the least available content to what I am looking for. The bloody Pve content they add tends to be staggered and lacking any depth in such a way that the first addition to this flame and frost is nothing more than a scavenger quest in one zone that takes roughly 45 mins to do if you switch overflow servers to click signs and loot corpses. Lame.
I literally only log in now to finish the damn clovers part of the legendary I figure if i quit now like i want to im wasting the 100's of hours post gearing out my characters through dungeons that i spent on saving the retarted amount of gold needed to buy the precursor.
If you're truly casual you may love this game if you want a deep endgame and plenty of dungeon pve content avoid it like the plague, that is all.
I know this game is good, but would I be wasting my time and money on this game if I'm a casual gamer?
@BarkingSpider81 You would be wasting your time and money less on this game than any other MMO. With no monthly subscription, playing this casually will not cost you, and there is enough content to last a casual player a very long time.
@BarkingSpider81 I don't think so, it's fairly friendly to both hardcore and casual gamers alike. As a casual gamer, you may have difficulty obtaining certain armour/weapon skins, but other than that, not really.
@Shinteikun The PvE content is the Flame and Frost stuff. They are adding story's with new and known characters, in a world that changes regularly.
I am really looking forward to it.
@Shinteikun you do realize that they have done nothing for the PvP except the silent storm map right? In every event it's designed for PvE and this is the first update in which they will focus on PvP.
Well, that's more content and events i'm gonna have to balance while playing Dark Souls.
@faceless-mask Dark Souls is a good game, though I never completed it. I still loved it on the console.
I just play GW2 atm, and I am not sure I would have the time for a second game really.

To bad the gear is a bit to easy to max out when compared to other mmos.
Playing it a bit every day i have almost maxed out gear. Quite low on fractals tho ( lvl 11 or so)

its one mmo, gear its a constant part of the content. Or are you planing in going to wvwvw with the same gear forever? that would make it more of a static action/adventure game.
forgot to say i have 100% map to ofc . Not braggin.
So if im not missing something like top hight rank spvp or full ascended gear, or alts ( i dont make alts in any mmo), or skins. What else can i do that is not grind based?
@BrunoBRS @carolino but i play the content to . im lvl 18 spvp 11 fractals, monthly themes, story at max wvwvw .I just feel like im playing at as almost static way custumization wize. I to have condition dmg and crit gear ( dont like tanky builds).
what do you mean by content or what am i missing ?
2 Like @carolino @sammoth @BrunoBRS if you want a gear treadmill go play WoW. GW2 was designed to eliminate the gear treadmill so everyone has access to the same gear and in PvP it will just be based on skill rather than gear, but they have introduced ascended gear if you want and if you like the challenge go for the legendary.
1 Like @carolino @BrunoBRS on the contrary. having easy access to top gear allows you to play around with different builds without losing combat potential much more easily. i myself have 3 separate armor sets for 3 different builds, on the same character.
this means i can, like i said, focus on actually playing the content because i enjoy it, rather than playing it because they'll give me a carrot for doing it.
1 Like @sammoth @carolino @BrunoBRS far from that man. i just have trouble geting exited about no "next armor" or " next weapon" ..i have been using the same 1100 max dmg dagger since the first 60 days. Sure its not the best looking cause i dont farm skins but its effectiveness its at max.
And yes gw 2 its for me cause its great game.Ill play the free updates here and there like i did until now

@Diamondsoulz If by "right around the corner," you mean four or five years away, at least.. sure. Might want to find something else to look forward to, in the meantime.
