I hope these maps are good the Reach ones were decent. I only liked a few of the maps though. For example I really liked Breakpoint but since the DLC playlist is gone it's really hard to get a match on it.
Xbox 360 dashboard image reveals Crimson pack arriving December 10, followed by Majestic expansion Feb. 29, and Castle add-on April 1.
Halo 4 gamers eager for more maps won't have to wait long if one report proves accurate. The Halo Council has obtained a German Xbox 360 dashboard advertisement for the three previously announced downloadable expansions for Halo 4. It reveals that the first--the Crimson Map Pack--will arrive December 10. This pack includes the Wreckage, Harvest, and Shatter multiplayer maps.
Following on from the Crimson expansion, according to the advertisement, will be the Majestic Map Pack (Landfall, Monolith, and Skyline) on February 25 and the Castle Map Pack (Daybreak, Outcast, and Perdition) on April 1. All three expansions are available as part of the $25 Halo 4 War Games map pass or as standalone downloads for about $10 each.
Halo 4 launched worldwide November 6 and generated 24-hour revenue o f $220 million. The game is a direct sequel to 2007's Halo 3 and is the first numbered entry in the series developed outside of Bungie Studios. It is the first installment in the Reclaimer Trilogy, which will span Halo 5 and Halo 6.
THey are already coming out with map packs? Does anyone know if the forge maps impact and erosion are even playable in matchmaking yet? Because this sounds really messed if you can't even play on 2 maps they added into the game yet in matchmaking, but yet they are already releasing map packs?...
@oKiRe This is old new that they are releasing three map packs. Plus it isn't "already". It is a span of three map packs over 5 months. Which is longer then many DLC's.
@Shantmaster_K My problem with this isn't really that there are new map packs. I knew about the season pass for the map packs before the game even came out. The problem I have is that there are 3 forge maps, Impact, Ravine and Erosion. That already came with the game, that are not even available to play in matchmaking. I don't understand why they already need new map packs when they haven't even used 3 of the maps yet that came with the game. You know what I mean?
THIS is everything that is wrong with games today. DLC should be an after thought something that caters to the fans requests for what they want in a game once they have played through. This game will have been out for just one month when the first DLC is slated to arrive which brings up my question. Why the hell isn't this map pack included with the original maps when the game launched if its coming out just one month after the release date. like i paid $60 for this game and now i gotta shell out more or suffer from playlist restrictions i will undoubtedly face. Like come on people don't be excited that they are robbing you of your money!
@Tjr41991 It's even worse because you're paying Microsoft for xbox live and they don't even host servers for halo (a first party game). It's all peer to peer! the least they could do is have free map packs for a game you just paid for and being a loyal customer for XBL.
I'm kinda tired of haven, but there needs to be more big epic maps for ctf, I love ragnarok, but that's like the only really good ctf one.. more vehicle maps cmon 343
@Bangerman15 I couldn't agree more. I do love Ragnarok, but I would love some more big vehicle maps.
Hopefully these maps will have some better flow. Or even better they're the old maps with their new names.
@DarthLod Don't buy it if you don't like it. But if you wanna keep up with your online friends who want you to join them for MM or customs then you have to shell out the cash. Your choice...
To the people replying to me about SWAT you are all misunderstanding me. In all of the past games that had the SWAT playlist it was eventually removed for people who didn't have all of the DLC. I wonder if 343 will do the same once this new DLC releases.
i agree the maps are getting a little old, it depends if you play on modes that assing small maps rather than modes that give larger maps, for example i love infinity slayer small maps but who doesnt love ragnarok on big team.
Anyways good thing we new content is added hope they are better maps.
Yeah I'm pretty bored of the maps already. None of them offer enough in my opinion, you never see epic vehicle fights or anything like this. Why hasn't halo gone past 16 total in a match yet and why so few maps?
Meltdown hasn't been too bad when it comes to vehicle battles. The tight spaces seem to balance the mech usage. In Ragnarok it feels like whichever team has the most vehicles yet to be destroyed controls the map and the match.
They need to fix the weapon disappear time. Has got me killed more times than I like...Otherwise, new maps would be welcome...
@Yulaw2000 no, there's way too few map, it gets boring playing on the same map over and over.
@3k3 There may be too few maps but it's too soon for DLC.
Already? I'm not ready for 343 to hold SWAT hostage behind a DLC required playlist. I hated when Bungie did that.
@Somebody89 swat, team snipers FFA etc etc have been added now.
@Somebody89 They have SWAT now.
Thank God, won't have to play Freakin Complex anymore, talk about a crappy map. But every other map is good.
343 is getting ready to release DLC...I have too many games to worry about it, but I do have their Halo 4 game.
I wish i cared now,i loved halo 3's multiplayer, couldn't stand reach's and hoped that halo 4 would change that, but now just a couple of weeks after the release,i was disappointed by the campaign and even more so by the multiplayer, sad thing being is there really isn't another multiplayer game worth buying.
It's not all bad and I think the campaign was pretty good but did kinda disappoint I was expecting a very large scale game where you are actually part of a unit or army, can idk make commands and such, or at the very leaste have missions with large vehicle battles but it's just another average length sp game. It's great but still doesn't feel like the dream halo game that I have been waiting for over a decade now. Halo CE is still my personal opinion the most fun to play campaign out of them all.
Don't care as much as I care about the ability to download people's forge maps that they created. Fix the File Browser, 343i.
Good to see the first pack is almost here. Halo 4 has a decent selection of large maps, but the small ones are lacking. That and the players always choose Haven for some reason.
It's good that the first map pack is out in a few weeks. More map variety is always better. I'm still eager to see what Forge maps 343 will add into War Games.
@phillyeagles123 I just want Forge World again and the Race game type. That's what me and my friends looked for the most were the race maps.
