Ok can anyone help me I have searched the web and can't find anything. I want to know if i ordered let's say the gamestop skin can i take that skin and put it on a different armor like a recon armor or something

Microsoft to offer color customizable weapon and armor skins across several retailers for those who reserve a copy of 343 Industries' new sci-fi shooter.
Master Chief's return in Halo 4 is still months off, but gamers who express their optimism by plunking down money to reserve a copy will get something in return. The latest Halo Bulletin update reveals that the "first eight" preorder bonuses for Halo 4 will be weapon and armor skins. Developer 343 Industries made clear that the bonuses are skins only and that the company has no plans to lock away armor.
According to 343 Industries, users will be able to customize the colors of each skin to their liking. Announced skins thus far include the Pulse, Raptor, Web, Circuit, and Forest armor variations, as well as Locust and Deadeye helmet offerings. On top of this, an Arctic skin for the Battle Rifle will be available, as will several customizable emblems, including Mjolnir, Spartan, Assassin, Bulletproof, and Bonebreaker variations.
The Halo 4 preorder bonuses will be split up and doled out across several retailers. GameStop is currently offering the Forest armor skin, Amazon has the Web skin, Best Buy has the Raptor skin, and Walmart shoppers will score the Circuit skin. The arctic Battle Rifle skin appears to be exclusive to EB Games in Canada.
Halo 4 is due out on November 6 for the Xbox 360. It is a direct sequel to 2007's Bungie-developed Halo 3 and is part of a new series titled the Reclaimer trilogy.

Alot of us know Halo 4 is going to be an amazing game and are definitely looking forward to it's release. Already pre-ordered the LE and can't wait to play it once I'm home from deployment!
90% of the people commenting need to stop buying video games and accessories. Instead save your money, go to a Gun Store and purchase yourself a gun. After that, purchase 1 bullet, not the whole box because trust me, I know bullets cab be expensive. If the guy haggles you that he can't open the box for just a single bullet, just purchase the box for arguments sake. (You won't need the $ later anyway, trust me) Afterward, go home and cook yourself a nice dinner, really go all out and put in some hard work. Really enjoy that dinner while watching a good movie, maybe a romantic comedy or something to help put you in a nice cheery mood. Once the movie ends, just leave it on the credits or opening menu, you know, how that annoying music plays over and over until you select something, that part. Go into your bathroom and turn on your shower head (THIS PART IS VERY IMPORTANT) make sure it's the shower head and not just the tub faucet head, this will help clean up the mess your about to make...anyways, I digress...once the water is running, slowly and quietly sit in the tub and close the shower curtain( some of you may have a shower door, close the shower door). Sit there and think about your life for a moment and everything stupid you have even done and has lead you to this point. After a few minutes...load a SINGLE round in the chamber, put the gun in your mouth, then pull the trigger....just a thought...try it out, see what you think.
So much hate in the comments, it's free dlc for some patterns on your armour. It's not going to change the feel of the game, it's just going to give the people who were going to pre-order, something extra. I'm sure there would be less complaints if there wasn't any pre-order bonus.
@StumBOX yeah that sounds about right. Honestly I don't understand this at all since it isn't some game breaking nuke or something like that.

Guys, it's just a free DLC. They're not even charging you extra, it's FREE. What's to hate? Of course they want you to pre-order! They're a business, and that's how they stay in business - of course they need money. So long as they're not doing anything dishonest and ripping anyone off, but giving you something actually of value, so they should!
Now if they were charging you lots of extra money for something worthless, that might be something to complain about, but they're not. It's free. Get over it. Learn to love them for the games they make, and leave the hate - and if you don't like the game, just buy something else. Leave the hate, we don't need more.
And if you're so darned smart, why don't you try help the publishers come up with some more interesting idea's of ways to sell to customers instead of just complaining.

at least they arent day one dlc packs, though im sure they will be made into dlc.
but really, who didnt see this coming a mile away? microsoft wouldnt dare release one of their cash cow series without milking it for every dime with pre-order insanity that leaves no one but pirates with a complete game. you can bet your ass theyre going to go crazy with the DLC, releasing new map packs every week featuring recycled maps from the previous games that required little more than a port. this is just the first step on the well-treaded path to franchise milking.
1 Like @onewithtoenail7 These are just armour skins, just a coloured pattern on the armour that you will be able to customise. So what if they end up being released as dlc, it's not like you have to buy them. They did the weapon skins for Gears of War 3, let the people who want them spend their money, we don't have to.
They have already confirmed 3 map packs that will include 3 maps each and will all be in new settings. Zero maps will be taken from the campaign as well, which is great as the maps will be made for multiplayer instead of what Bungie did and recycle all multiplayer and firefight maps from the campaign in Reach. They will also be giving new chapters each week for Spartan Ops (co-op but can be played solo stories) and they will be free.
It's still a long way off from being released so more news will be released until then explaining everything in more detail. If you don't like it, don't get it.

@chappy_man I would like them to be free as DLC later on but if they sell them for $5 I'd still buy it only because I'd rather have all skins than not have them all. Besides, $5 is better than paying $325 and some change for 5 copies of the game just to get all 5 skins. Plus if the Battle Rifle skin is exclusive to Canada then imagine paying $390 for 6 copies of the game for 6 bonuses (5 armor skins and 1 weapon skin).

I pre-ordered this right when it became available to pre-order so i guess it doesn't make a difference i'm just so so stoked for the game to come out.
1 Like i was super excited to get this game, but now i think i will wait to rent it first. i decided to wait once i read that a gold membership is required to play spartan ops. i only have silver and never will have gold for the fact i don't like playing online, so i would be missing out on a 3rd of the game. why the hell can't you still play with a silver account in 2pl split screen for spartan ops and still download the weekly dlc!!
@silentscorn This is unfortunate for people like yourself who don't play online, I think you need Gold because the multiplayer aspect Infinity is split into two areas, War Games (competitive) and Spartan Ops, and I have heard that to unlock chapters for Spartan Ops, you need to use in game credits that you'd more than likely receive from War Games. I'm not entirely sure on the details. A way to work around it is you could create a new profile each time you want to play Spartan Ops, that is if you still get 1 month Gold on a new profile.

So is customization taking several steps backward? Are we going to be stuck with generic armor that we can only change the color of? I thouht Halo 2 was in the past...
