Community News: Record your game night experience for a chance at the MVP title and a Bungie bag!
On Wednesday, October 13, starting at 5 p.m. PT, we plan to have a game night dedicated to Halo: Reach. This time around we plan to have a combination game night activity where you create a video of your experience and share that with us for a chance to be rewarded the MVP title and a Bungie bag.
Here’s how to participate.
1. Play Halo: Reach with GameSpot staff and community during game night.
2. Go back and look at your recent videos from the matches in Theater mode and edit down a clip showcasing your favorite moment of the night. Each clip MUST be less than 30 seconds and MUST be from one of the game night matches. For help on how the Halo: Reach Theater mode works, visit Bungie.net.
3. Save the edited clip to your File Share. Then send an Xbox Live message to gamertag Riverdogs with the name of your clip and your GameSpot username. Messages MUST be send before 2pm PT on Friday the 15th.
The current staff roster includes Chris Watters, Shaun McInnis, and Ryan Mac Donald.
If you are new to game nights, all participants join the chatroom to share their gamertags and ensure that they can get on a staff member's friends list. Those who don't drop by will not know what's happening in the event, so if you have an Internet connection, drop by to grab a spot on a staff member's friends list, and most of the communication thereafter is through XBL voice chat. Additionally, if you have issues trying to log in to the chatroom, please make sure you have the current version of Java by dropping by www.java.com.
Want more details on how to take part in game night? Don't worry--just join us 30 minutes beforehand in the chat room for all the details you need!
@ twztid13: Shaun updated the news with what they would look for in the videos so they probably want just good vids instead of good videos with them in it. I am sure if it's 2 seconds over they might accept it. Worth a try!
ive got a great vid that ive whittled down from 39 secs to 32. i hope thats ok. if not, screw it (otherwise it wouldn't have shaun in it).
@mrzero1982pt2 I know what it is, but it has no actual purpose. Its a made up title in a video game that probably not many people will see or even care. Don't get me wrong, Its a cool concept and its great of them for interacting with the gaming community but i just see the prize as nothing of value. So let all you haters and people in a bad mood give me a thumbs down for sharing my opinion that you disagree with. :)
@Jtm371. No you can't do it now. Just join the chatroom 30 minutes to an hour before the game night and just wait. Everything will be explained.
So I wait untill 30 minutes before 5 and then I go to the chat room and tell them I want to play, or can I do it now?
@ bowlingotter: If I am not mistake the window should be from 5-7pm, but they might stay a little longer. From previous experience with the editors it might be best to drop any time between 5:30 and 6:30 to get in a game with them before they get tired. :P
@ bowlingotter. That's fine; when you log into the chatroom just ask someone for the host's gamertag. Someone should be there to answer you. @volcomstoner180. Just join the chatroom 30 minutes to an hour before the start of the game night.
@HezzyxJB in halo 3 matchmaking games, the MVP was an achievement. basically it says you got the most kills for your team
Is there a specific time to log onto the chat room to exchange gamertags? I would like to participate but I won't be able to sign on at the start of the game night.
@Shawcross We can do regular chat and still pretend it's a party. I'll bring streamers and Lady Gaga CDs!
Do you guys do Party Chat or just normal game chat? If its party chat it would be hard since I am on the beta dashboard and can't join party chat and such.
Playing Xbox One games on somebody else's console will also require a check-in every hour. Full Story
