Halo: Reach Noble Map Pack fires up Xbox Live

this is what its all about, new maps more sticky bombs out of no where. 10 ain't bad, but i think it should be cheaper, or at least xbox live should be free.

Halo is a over rated, milked, and a horrible game.

They need a "Noble Map pack" playlist, that way people who don't have the maps can still play like normal.

To those of you who already have the map pack! Is forge as indepth as in forgeworld? (can you phase/fix objects?) or is it more like the ol' fashion H3 forge?

Seriously DLC like this NEEDS to be FREE. 3 maps for 10$? Thats not a whole lot but considering I paid 60$ for this game plus xbox live each month, its ridiculous.

I miss you Halo 2, Destroy all Humans, Mech Assault, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, Some of the Star Wars games. Many many more games I cant remember.

Why pay for map packs right? Why? I mean, is not like the developers need any money for their efforts or they have families, partners, goals, dreams, etc... They should make everything FREE so we, the hardworking, really focused on important things, people, get to play videogames--an important aspect of everyone's life; without bothering about who makes them... Yeah... that makes sense... so developers... my life is important; how dare you to charge for a map pack? Who cares about healthcare? Gaming is where is at... How dare you?

I've always like Halo and probably won't stop playing it soon, but I'll never pay money for extra maps.

A simple thing like a map pack should be free, let alone one that got taken out of the game before launch to release and charge for later. Stop buying this crap people.

Joke I bet they had the maps already made so they could charge us instead of putting it in the game this tactic they do makes me sick like Activision.

The whole "if you don't like them don't buy them" thing makes a lot of sense to me. I'm glad that Reach probably won't make its core MP game types DLC-required, because I actually love the game, and it would a real shame if I wouldn't be able to enjoy all of what it has to offer if I wasn't prepared to purchase DLC.In my own opinion, the best DLC is the completly optional stuff that can bolster and improve your playing experience, but should not be a mandatory payment to keep up with the rest of the MP community. I hope that is the direction Reach is heading.

so much commotion over one map pack, only 3 maps i think they could have done a bit better than that, well not as bad as MW2 1200 micro points

won't be buying these since they ripped me off for the last three packs for reach by making them all free/added into ODST. mark my words, they'll make this free to thank the fans of halo who didn't buy the map pack like they did with the first pack.

@YoshiYogurt : Not everyone enjoys new maps. Not everyone feels the uncontrollable urge to pay 10 dollars for nothing but maps. That's all, maps. I have never, and will never, pay money for DLC unless it add's to the Single player as much as Multi-Player. That meaning, I do not buy maps. Ever. I have no interest in them, for any game. It is a waste of money to me. Feel free to spend high prices for small content if you wish. No one is stopping you.

To everybody who said forge gives u player made maps: no, it doesn't. No one plays custom games in halo, and there is no forge mapmaking playlist. And the forge maps are not the same as the toolset bungie has. If you look at PC games like Unreal, that is what i'm talking about. Players can make any map they put their mind to not just some ramps on the same boring looking island. There nothing in these maps players couldn't have made themselves with a real toolset and the ability to share them properly. Forge isn't that, forge is a joke.

i wanted to get them at first when i heard about it but i dont even play reach much anymore... ill just wait till they are all cheap or on sale in a little while cuz 10 bucks is alot too, oh well at least i got my FREE 4 new maps today for bad company 2, gotta love dice for that :)

In my opinion, $10 map pack is the next outrageous pricing to the $15 CoD2 map packs. It should be $5 or less!

What I really hate is that Bungie makes it so that eventually you can only play 1/4 of the multiplayer game modes because you didn't download any of their damn map packs. That's a slap in the face considering I paid 60 dollars for a supposedly lasting product and 60 dollars for online so I could play multiplayer on games like it. They did that with Halo 3 and pretty much the only mode I used to play was Big Team Battle, and once I couldn't play that anymore, the game's value dropped instantly for me. How annoying.

I think I'll wait until after Christmas for the map pack. It looks great, but I gotta save up for shopping for my family. Fortunately, I am fine with the online as it is now.

@Chunkman dont worry about it bungie learnd from their mistakes and created a dlc grab bag option in the playlist and i thought there were only 3 halo 3 map packs - i got odst and halo 3 same time so i never checked

Every one ahould get MNC combat its amazing - sorta like tf2 just in 3rd person and with a lot more personality

@Waldkrieger You can't spend $10 on a map pack? It's worth what you pay for! I'll be spending hours playing with the new maps and playlists. Why are you so concerned about the price, Halo maps have always been $10! In fact, I hope they release more map packs! More content for me to enjoy

@TrapMuzik92 maybe I overreacted a little :P I mean it's worth it sometimes but it can be a ridiculous price sometimes. if we're talking a few new things but it'd be nice to get free stuff for a game once in a while, even something small.

I got the map pack and I like tempest a little bit and I really dug anchor 9 and I did not like the other one breakpoint all that much, but the map pack is ok it's not great but it's ok.

To be honest, I don't have a huge problem about dropping a 10 on a map pack, especially if it's one that has quality maps. I do have a massive problem when developers seem to feel that its alright to remove content from people who do not buy it. COD map packs are indeed absurdly pricey, but at least you're still going to have access to every game mode should you decide against purchasing. Halo 3 DLC was despicable in that regard. One pays $60+ dollars to play the entirety of the multiplayer experience, and then at least half of that content is drastically stripped away if you don't continue to shell out more money on an almost regular basis. I purchased 4/5 of the H3 map packs not for the quality of the maps themselves, but because I wished to continue playing 100% of the MP content.

@Waldkrieger: No problem, buddy. Sure, the MW2 stimulus wasnt all that great I hear, but $3.33 a map is not a bad deal at all. The Noble Map Pack is great, and I hope they make more like it that is of good quality. At least they didn't release it two weeks after release or include it on the disc as unlockable content you had to pay for. DLC is not big deal if its done right. I'll gladly pay 800 points for the next one. And if you hate people who pay money for them, youll REALLY hate me...I bought a Noble Pack for my XBOX AND my wife's, so we dropped @20 for one household. Your welcome very much lol.

$10 that is too much. all the dlc in these games should be free. you buy the licence you get the dlc.

gah I'm soo far behind already I STILL don't have this game I usually have the next halo a week or so after the release and this is such a tease

@Miroku32 I have always been against overpriced map packs as well. 3-5 maps is too little for the asking price. Back in the old days (ugh...old) when you bought an expansion with maps, it was a heck of a lot more.

It is also why Nintendo is slow about doing anything, because people still pay top dollar for the old stuff. They just slap on a new color, or release an old game at full price, and people pay it. So confused.

People blow off 7 bucks for a mc donalds meal every day. I think paying a measily 10 bucks for hours of enjoyment isn't a big deal. If you can't a afford ten bucks, then don't buy it.

@YankeeDan345 Sadly that will never happen. DLCs are made for ripping off gamers with stuff like map packs, skins, etc. But gamers instead allow them to be ripped off like that.

Ten bucks is better then the $15 Activision charged for crappy maps that never seemed to come up in playlists.

I don't like the new Reach maps... I wish I could get a refund and buy something else. :/

No maps, for any game, are worth 10 dollars. I have no use for them. It is nothing more than a map, and you cannot use it in Single Player, so pointless. Everyone else enjoy.

@YankeeDan345 You joking right? To make balanced and fun maps takes months. If you want a map that took 5 days to make go download some maps from random peoples file share and youll see what kind of quality that is.

Would have like a seen a few more maps for that price. But I will spend my $$ on them.
