Activision may be on many gamers s*** lists right now (joining EA, Capcom, Nintendo, and SEGA/Sonic Team), but a weather disaster is FAR worse than any business practice they have done.

Really makes you take a second look at online-only...Oh there I go imputing common sense to this type of developer! I ought to have learned by now...

More idiotic network design from supposedly top-notch technology companies... It's called "Global Server Load Balancing" and "DR sites", EA, Activision, etc...

It is sad that people have died in this storm and posters are claiming they are happy about it because the storm knocked out the servers to some games they hate. Shows how pathetic some people are. Also shows how some people are hypocrites since I am willing to bet half of the people making those comments are the same people who will cry "First Amendment violation" when something they like is willingly altered by the company to avoid offending people no matter how offensive it is.

I don't want anyone to suffer because of this or anything else, but there is a silver lining. These games suck. Sorry, had to do that. If either of these games would have helped someone get through this, I am sorry.

This reminds me of the MGS4 and Final Fantasy 14 servers issues that occured after the Japanese Earthquake in 2011. And what did people do? They complain and flex their self-entitlement muscle.  As someone who had to endure the disaster of a Category 5 Cyclone, I will tell you that the weeks following a bi disaster are brutal. The clean-up and lack of power is trying for everyone. So don't complain about server issues, play something else or find some other hobby to kill time.

Who the hell cares about these games?!?! There are lives out there being ruined, peoples homes destroyed! You can remake those discs no problem, but you can't easily repair someones life back.

Good. A few more of these and maybe we wont ever have to see another worthless GH and COD games ever again.

Guitar Hero? I thought that franchise died an over saturated death long ago. 

I love how some people are trying to make others feel guilty about being upset because of not being able to play online in the face of this disaster. We all feel bad for those people up there, but what are we supposed to do about it, fall apart in the floor crying? How about saying a prayer for those people and their families, then go whine about online not working. There, everybody happy?

Guess they'd better get the servers to Higher Ground.

But seriously, my sympathies go out to victims of the hurricaine. My parents are in New York, and they're fine, but man is the city a wreck.

Not even Hurricane Sandy could withstand the awesome force of Xbox servers.

Oh? You are finding it hard to live without your online play because of the hurricane? There are people out there right now finding it hard to just plain live.

Who cares about those games?  There are people who are dead or missing as a result of this storm.

No wonder I couldnt play Black Ops online yesterday.

This horrific storm will be one of the defining events of the decade, and it's a clear example of government doing its job to help people in the event of disaster. It shows us why things like FEMA are necessary.

On a side not, it's kind of odd that console CoDs are having issues due to server outages. I know the PC versions have dedicated servers, but aren't the console versions entirely peer-to-peer / host-based?

Oh boy, you bet most people affected by Sandy, must love always online function for single player campaign that dont give you option of offline play.

I pray that the East Coast will make it through. Continue to believe and have faith.

I really could care less about two vg franchises. A bunch of people died and tons of people lost their homes. This disaster could have a major impact on the whole US economy. Who the hell cares about CoD and GH!
