Jet Set Radio hits the air in September for $10

HD rerelease of Sega Dreamcast action game hits Xbox 360, PS3, PC next month; Vita version to follow October 16.
Nearly a dozen years after its Dreamcast debut, Jet Set Radio returns to the airwaves next month. Sony today detailed September release dates and a $10 price point for the downloadable game on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
PS3 owners will get first crack at the game, with PlayStation Plus subscribers able to download it September 11. The rest of the PS3 installed base can find the game in the PlayStation Store beginning September 18. Jet Set Radio will launch for the Xbox 360 and PC (on Steam) September 19.
The game is also coming to the PS Vita, although owners of Sony's newest handheld will have to wait until October 16 to download it. In addition, Android and iOS editions of the game are set for release this summer, although Sega hasn't announced pricing or exact release dates for those just yet.
Jet Set Radio--known as Jet Grind Radio in North America--shipped in 2000 for the Sega Dreamcast. The game stars Beat, the leader of a graffiti gang, who zips around the futuristic city of Tokyo on inline skates. Rather than settling gang disputes with violence, players steal turf from opposing crews by tagging the city with graffiti art.

I bought this a few years ago when I finally got a dreamcast, now seeing how this game is only going to be $10 I'll definitely pick it up again :D I hope they re-release JSRF too!
W00t! Until recently, copies of the Xbox version of JSRF were selling at a STEEP price! Stellar, memorable, different game... $10 is a steal. (Not sure what the person below meant about graffiti bug -- the game runs flawlessly on 360.)
@Pyrosa Actually this is the original dreamcast version (the xbox one is a sequel), but hopefully they end up releasing JSRF too since that's a better game (I've heard rumors that if JSR sells well then they will release JSRF too)!
Anyway, I don't remember a graffiti bug in JSRF when playing it on the 360 but I remember massive slowdown.

@KokutenNagaki @servb0ts well no Jet Set Radio was not JSRF was. but this my buddy was a dream cast exclusive just like shenmue 1 was a dream cast exclusive but shenmue 2 was a xbox exclusive.
@servb0ts See this is what i hate about sony fanboys they think that anything that appears on a sony console is sony's game. Jet set radio has nothing to do with sony it is a sega game hence the 360 version. if i was a third party dev i would be against making my game playstation only because of people like this that give sony credit for anything that appears on there system.
@servb0ts Sony has nothing to do with Jet Set Radio, and in terms of creativeness, the game is extremely unique in a lot of ways. Very deserving of an HD makeover, and at a great price.

Here's hoping this generates enough fan-hype that they do an HD release of Jet Set Radio Future (The Vastly superior game which could REALLY benefit from an fps upgrade, not to mention you can't create graffiti on the x360 due to a comparability issue.)
More importantly, let's hope this get's enough attention to see a revival of this epicly awesome series. I want to spend countless nights creating graffiti and bumping to nonsensicle japanese tech-pop-rock.

JGR and Tekken will make Sept. 11, a less painful day. I'll have new fond memories of Tekken and JGR.
2 Like I'm gonna buy this game TWICE; PS3, AND Steam versions; a lot cheaper than what I thought it was gonna cost ($15). Can not wait til September! Btw, any updates on Yappie Feet/Many Styles being added to the soundtrack yet?

1 Like YES!!!! Finally my wait is over. Now I don't have to hook up my Dreamcast to play this anymore. With this, Tekken, and Ragnarok all coming out on the same day, September 11th will go down in history as a really awesome day. I am gonna have to take that day off of work to celebrate.
