I' m a Red Sox fan, and I think that Manny Ramirez should have been on the cover, but I understand why Jeter is on the front: consistency.

Anyone who says Derek Jeter sucks has a mental retardation. No lie. Jeter is 3 time gold glove winner (in a row), 7 time all-star, World Series MVP, and has 4 (count them) 4 WORLD CHAMPION RINGS!!!!! But he probably shouldn't be on the cover 3 times in a row, I don't mind, but not everyone is a Yankee fan.

The whole Red Sox and Yankees thing I think is terrible for the game of baseball. It only makes people that could be interested about baseball become less interested hearing a bunch of fanboys argue. I can't stand when they play each other because that's the only game shown on tv, and since they play each other more than any other teams play, they are on all the time. In reality both teams had a very average year and will probably have very average years next year. I hate the fact that Boston went and spent so much money on one pitcher (a terrible thing for the sport). Next years teams to watch won't be the Yankees and Red Sox. Fans next year will get the most entertainment by watching the AL central division. With the Tigers, Twins, White Sox, and Indians all making great strides to take the division. One of those teams will take the wild card away from the Yanks or Sox (either of which will make it to the series). Both teams have fans just spring up over night. I've been an Indians fan since the early ninty's from when they sucked, to went to be one of the best teams, to being one of the worst teams, to rebuilding themselves again. The Red Sox and Yankees have turned baseball into nothing but battle of bank accounts. As for the game.....it better come out by the time pitchers and catchers report.

As far as the game it needs to be more World Series and less All Star baseball by Acclaim.

Hopefully it will be better than last season's game. Sony's MLB the Show was the best baseball game last season. Can't wait for the PS3 version.

YES...I'm a Yankees fan but I wilI defend anyone who is a good player and gives 110% every game regardless of what team they are on. Unfortunately not everyone is that type of player. Can you say that about Manny? Or Bonds? Or even Sheffield for that matter when he was on the Yankees? I respect players that chase down every ball, run down the 1st base line at full speed whether it's a ground ball or pop up.

You all must be Sox fans. They're the worst fans in the world. They're rude, think they know everything about baseball when they haven't got a clue. Ortiz didn't even have a good season let alone a great season. Why should that overweight pig, who doesn't even play a position, get the cover? And since when has Jeter choked? He's the best SS in the game and always gives up his body to make a play. He hit .343 and is a career .300 hitter. Yes he had 12 errors but he won the gold glove because he had less errors than all other SS in the AL. Please re-read that statement again. "LESS ERRORS THAN ALL OTHER SS IN THE AL." Did you guys actually think there was another criteria in deciding who gets the gold glove? I'm not saying Morneau or Howard didn't deserve to be on the cover but do you people even realize that it's the developer's decision to put whoever they choose on the cover? How is Jeter overrated? well, this is just another sports cover that i need to photoshop. Jeter sucks balls. his team cant win championships anymore, and 2k sports should be ashamed. o well, at least the curse of the cover star can last another year. Maybe, he'll even steal the title of MVP from Ortiz again. Papi's the one who deserves the cover, not a little **** who embodies the word "choke".

Getting little tired of the bais in NY's favor all the time. Did anyone notice that there are a lot of other very good MLB players out there? Not dissing Jeter but it would make more sense to put someone else OUTSIDE of NY on the cover for a change. Unless of course they plan on only selling games inside NY.
